I'm just home for the Toby Lee gig in Faversham (conveniently just round the corner from home 🙃) wow, what a fine musician, good band, lovely songs, what's not to like.

It's a very interesting head for sure. Tons of EQ. I couldn't find anywhere on the Mesa site that stated what the input impedance was. So you might need a preamp to get the best out of your realist. That output damping switch is very interesting. If you do get one the please report back as to how it works out. Mesa stuff always looks gorgeous.

Ernie Ball Pino Palladino flatwounds - £90 a set
TheRev replied to kevin_lindsay's topic in General Discussion
£90? If they last 30 years like a good set of flats should then they're a bargain. -

Aye, the blurb from Aston about the focus groups of various musos that got to pick the ‘voice’ of the mic swayed me. I paid much more when it 1st came out. They are a steal at sixty quid!

Thank you, I really appreciate that comment. It's always nice to be complemented on my photography. Mark

Maude started following Bloody Snare drum wires.....

I could be wrong, according to Lady Maude it has happened before, but wouldn't simply resting your hand (or a finger) on the snare skin stop it resonating, in much the same way as resting your hand on your strings mutes them? I assume it's the skin vibrating against the snare, or is it the actual snare that sets up the resonance? Even if it was the snare, damping the skin with a digit would surely stop it being amplified. Too simple?

£59 at Andertons. I got quite excited when I saw it at £113 on eBay, but decided to check further. Tough not to take a punt at that price. https://www.andertons.co.uk/aston-element-cardioid-microphone/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20740064305&gclid=CjwKCAjwiezABhBZEiwAEbTPGA5ZdGR_IB7_lA-I3f84O9ALZEjD1oIgz7EJODuJE2A9j_L4pZaVoBoCs2wQAvD_BwE
