  2. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
  3. I don't think I need a 5-string for our set but that's what I've learnt the songs on, and it would be a bit of a struggle to play on a 4-string. I do take a 4-string out to an open mic night every now and again but that's generally doing songs I'll only do once rather than songs I'm really familiar with.
  4. Mk1 version with tatty but fully functional Orange carry case/bag and brand new -20db attenuator in case your desk doesnt have a pad function and you are using the DI. Going ampless by the looks of it so will be surplus to requirements. Collection from Bolton ideally or can meet up. Potentially could post within UK if i can get some packing stuff together
  5. I gigged this beauty last night and it sounded amazing and so many folk commented on it and took photos of it. Hate to upset the tone wood fan base but this is made of Lego. And it sounds absolutely awesome.

  6. I think the Pro might have a tuner, along with some more effects, amps and cabs, but I have to say I'm delighted with my regular one. Especially since discovering I can plug it into my phone via USB C and use it to record audio for videos! I'm going to try it out with the new Fender Studio app this weekend too.
  7. I'd forgotten all about this. Just had a wee play with it. It's great! Given how much adjustability the SA pedals have under the hood this is a very useful way to get an idea of what the pedals are capable of before buying. Very cool.
  8. There's a website that presents stories from multiple former members and catalogues existing court cases in Argentina against the bandleader. But since it's sensitive material relating to a current UK police investigation, it's presumably not one to share on basschat.
  9. A few of the comments on the video refer to musicians being unpaid or underpaid for their work with Old Time Sailors.

  11. That's definitely worth remembering for anyone looking to buy one of these. I'm sure I mentioned it elsewhere on these boards sometime ago, but when I briefly had a Mooer Prime P1, I noticed the Bluetooth audio sounded weak compared to my original Mighty Plug. After testing, I realised it was the MP at fault, artificially boosting the low end. The P1 had other issues, but that's another story!
  12. Hi folks As part of my ongoing gear clear out I have a Warwick Rockpower NT 1 power supply rated at 9V 200mA. £7.50 inc P&P to UK mainland.

  13. Hi folks, more stuff from the spares draw. These are very lightweight tuners and the one that Low End Lobster has been fitting to his Sire basses as a drop in replacement. This is effectively a set for a 5 string bass with a 4 over 1 configuration. They are currently fairly scarce and the G string tuner seems to be particularly hard to find anywhere at the moment. Prices are: Set of 4 in-line - £105 inc. P&P to UK mainland "5th" G string tuner - £35 inc. P&P to UK mainland Set of 5 tuners - £130 inc. P&P to UK mainland Here are a couple of pics and the link to Lobster's YouTube vid on the subject.
  14. I’m going to keep that handy too if I go for a visit (I really need to move some gear on and that violet Pulse 2 keeps looking at me).
  15. Thats what I thought but.. https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/old-time-sailors-blast-hate-10204971 "As part of this investigation, we have arrested six males on suspicion of modern-day slavery offences. We appreciate the activity may have caused some confusion and concern amongst the local community" - the band leader has done a runner.
  16. So is this part of the same story or has the world gone a little mad? I hadn't heard of the Old Time Sailors, so I did a search on them and it seems they are tied up on a modern day slavery probe in devon? I mean that sounds a bit worse than just nicking a few songs.
  17. I'll try to remember that!
  18. Made in Japan, well used with plenty of scratches (see photos). Plays and records really well. No whammy bar. I’ve used it for home recording and it sounds fine, good variety of sounds. Only my playing lets it down.

  19. Yeah, think the only tool I've ever trusted that came with a bass was the metal stick you sometimes get when you've got a truss rod with a wheel adjustment. Anything else, I use known, high quality tools from my days on job sites. Wera makes up most of my travelling tool kit, though Music Nomad make a tidy little kit, though it's a little pricier than most might be willing to spend for a small kit. Handy in a pinch though.
  20. I hadn't encountered them before, but having looked at some videos, I'd probably leave if they were on somewhere. It's like theme park entertainment, and I'm fairly sure it's not played as fully live as they make out. I feel bad for the rank-and-file members who don'thave much choice once they're here - the ringleaders not so much.
  21. This is what I find. Although our backline could fill the rooms and we'd get told to turn down, having the band turn down a bit and putting just a bit though the PA seems to give a better mix, without really getting any louder (or at least, not too noticeable). Unfortunately, as I pretty much have to do the sound from stage (basically set and forget but I do have the iPad close in case I do need to change something), I dont have our lead guitarist in the PA as he still hasn't got his levels sorted out, nor feedback control), and I dont want to risk that through FOH.

  23. Don't see these very often in lefty aspesaly fretless https://www.fairdealmusic.co.uk/products/1983-jaydee-roadie-supernatural-fretless-used-comm?_pos=2&_sid=89dad1b8a&_ss=r
  24. I've got a couple of them already but it's black one I'm after as I have a black 79 P bass specifically for one project... and it's a bit of a lump.
