  2. That's a very short story... Did they all live happily ever after....?
  3. Thank you so much for your input

  5. A Groovy Kind Of Love - Wayne Fontana/Mindbenders
  6. I'm still waiting to see how the M6-6 comes out. The P6-5 above is a neat looking instrument, for an FSO.
  7. As someone who's never played a 12, the order of the strings was something I'd never considered, either tonally or playing feel. Interesting, thanks guys. Sidebar comment: I'd love a 12 with a 6x2 arrangement.
  8. Tainted Love - Soft Cell
  9. Auld Gambling House in Alloa for BLOCKBUSTARZ tonight. Reasonable sized crowd maybe 100 in plus a childhood neighbour turned up who lives in Alloa. Owner said its been slow over past few mths. Anyways thought i'd try my Overwater J4 for a spin but half way thru 2nd set i realised it was getting a bit heavy and my back was feeling it and i changed over to old faithful Sandberg VM4. Wife reckoned the VM4 was better sounding, deeper but clearer. Had dancers up most of the night with a full floor for special request of Time Warp. Audience seemed well up for a party tonight and really enjoyed themselves. Using Overwater J4 then Sandberg VM4 into Handbox WB-100 and BF 212 cab with Shure wireless and Keeley Bassist Comp. 1st set fro 8 to 9:20pm and 2nd set 9:45 to 11:15pm Got paid and a 1:15mins drive home. Dave
  10. I'm sure you're aware of the Basschat Marketplace, specifically the Basses for Sale section. It can be a dangerous place to be if you don't have you wallet safely stashed away in a locked box with a lost key. 😂 Mark
  11. Start with you bass straight into the amp and then add each pedal individually (one by one) until you recreate the fault.

  13. Hi everyone I've been lurking here and there for a while and thought I'd finally sign up. It's been a great source of info, and whilst lurking I've wanted to get involved in the selling/buying forums multiple times - now I can! I've been playing bass for over 20 years, although you wouldn't know it to hear me!! I played in bands when I was much younger, but I'm still playing a lot and writing songs so you never know, maybe I'll make a comeback one day haha. My main bass is a Kramer DMZ4000 I bought in the early 2000s, but I am always looking for something to usurp it! Cheers!
  14. If it goes any lower I’ll force you to buy it
  15. Ooooh, I do like the look of the P6 5 string in black 😍🤌 I'd prefer passive though...
  16. The Genz Benz Contour 500 210 bass combo is a popular, discontinued bass amplifier known for its powerful, clear sound and versatile features. It features a 300W Class D power amp (500W with an extension cabinet) and a 2x10" speaker configuration with a tweeter for high-end clarity. Key features include a FET preamp with gain and volume controls, a Contour tone-shaper, and an active EQ section with a parametric midrange filter. In good gig-ready working condition. The overdrive and limit LEDs do not illuminate but this in no way impairs the function Purchased on here for £185 and now up for sale for the same price, as my #1 rig has been returned to me and I have no need for two! Collection from Wallasey, Merseyside
  17. Seeing as we are discussing Mr Manton I shall tell you my Mr Manton story. I needed some extensive work done on a bass. He did it beautifully.
  18. Hi, I'm a newbie. Sorry. Lol. Trying to put together a pedal board and it's not working. I'm so frustrated 😠. This is the equipment I've got:- Schecter evil twin bass guitar Seymour duncan powerstage bass 700 Darkglass dg212n Hx stomp xl Boss chromatic tuner Ampeg opto comp Jam red muck Jam rattler Tc electronic sentry Ckk electronic space station pro Reverb Flattley bass nirvana delay Flattley bass valkyrie chorus Mooer gl 100 Looper The problem I'm having is getting the pedals to work with the hx stomp xl. I can get the hx stomp to work with amp, but the pedals i can barely here at all. I've tried global settings, all combinations. Tried every pedal and cables individually(they all work). I would like my tuner, Compressor, fuzz, distortion before the hx stomp. Has anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong. Many thanks
  19. I have some photos of the neck stamp taken during a visit to my luthier and friend martch.pl but I can't find them... start trusting me and don't treat me like a fraud... I know the construction of old Fender basses very well, so please don't take me for a layman...
  20. I'm attaching photos for the skeptics. As I mentioned, I have the original socket and lower part for the bass. The capacitor is legendary, not found in all basses from this period. The capacitor has shortened legs, as you can see in the photo. This was taken when the socket was replaced.
  21. In fairness, I haven’t bumped this in over a year. I do love this bass, but (dare I say it???) I have too many to justify.
  22. Ok, so GAS has got the better of me (again) and I’ve splurged a load of cash on something else, so this is now available for £120 including UK second class delivery.
  23. How has this not sold? I love mine (trying not to think about buying this as a spare)
  24. Aw, thanks! The Inevitable Teaspoons are very grateful for your purchase 🥰
  25. Another request received through the website, this is the Étienne Mbappé bass part for the tune 'Djanea' from the 1989 Ultramarine album, 'Dé'. A monster part but, once you know what you are doing, its surprising how much you can achieve. That's what I love about reading. It shows you that its all possible, even this crazy s***. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/djanea-ultramarine/
