I bought this beautiful bass last year for a project that has managed just two gigs in 18 months. I recently joined a new band and now need a different coloured bass. Before I bought it, I tried out the Squier and US versions, and this one has by far the smoothest, most playable, modern-feeling neck. It weighs 3.8kg / 8.4lb. It’s a joy to play, and the pickup is thunderous. I’ve swapped in the Retrovibe 4-brass-saddle dual-entry bridge for easier intonation (the original will be included). There’s a small dink by the bridge (pictured). Otherwise, there are no marks. It’s got new GR Balanced Nickel strings, and comes with a Fender gigbag. However. While it’s perfectly playable with a low action, the truss rod won’t tighten any further. The action at 12 fret is 3mm, so it’s fine with lower tension strings, but would struggle with thicker gauges. That’s why I’m selling so cheap.-

I like the individual sounds of my Fenders, if I'm honest. They all have their own individual sound characters. All instrument makers have had to deal with increased costs in parts and labour in recent years, and Americans (and Mexicans) want financial security, houses, cars and pensions (same as us here in the UK!), so everything gets more expensive. Food, cars, houses, etc have all doubled in price in recent years. Unfortunately, musicians' earnings seem to be ignored when it comes to said increases, so instruments seem to get ridiculously pricey to us. I recently bought and set up a Squier 40th Anniversary Jazz for a pupil. Yes, it's a great sounding & playing bass, but a good American Fender bass still sounds and feels superior. But yes, that difference is definitely getting smaller while the price differential gets ever larger.

It's a blues in F. F7, Bb7 F7 / Bb7 / F7 D7 Gm7 C7 F7 / I don't normally do chords as the purpose of the transcriptions is to promote reading not learning theory. There are people/websites out there that do all that better than I can. I'm just dumb enough to sit there for hours transcribing details that no-one else can be bothered to look for.

For the lucky ones that nabbed this pedal early, can you comment on the tracking outside of standard tuning? What's the 5 string mode like compared to the 'normal' mode?

While you might not be being unreasonable I am sure they get thousands of requests of this nature and never hear from the person again.... Like when any of us tries to sell something online. I had a bass up for sale "can you record it playing through a distortion pedal please?" Errrrr why? Or the thousands of back and forth messages with people who then disappear when you try to confirm they will buy and pay.

But this simplicity and quality can exist in far-eastern produced Squiers at a fraction of the cost. Exactly how can Fender justify the much higher prices for essentially the same thing? I think with regards to sounds between boutique and Fender basses ,in many cases the "best" bass tone isn't what's required.I've been in situations where people just want the sound they're used to hearing on their favourite albums. It makes no difference to them if an alternative sounds "better". I'm not suggesting this applies to you personally but it's definitely out there.

Yeah it’s been great and is more versatile than it might appear. Very easy to do the modern pop sub thing but hitting that sweet spot between sub and clean can fatten up and add energy/weight to a chorus, underneath a solo section etc. I can see why the Bass The World guys dig it. -

I was looking for some info on SfxSound's microthumpinator as I was tring to explain to someone what it does and this old thread came up. The Microthumpinator is still first in line on my pedalboard after all these years and everything else has changed multiple times but that wonderful bit of kit remains.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago; fantastic bass. Wide but really comfortable neck, and a huge range of sounds. Absolutely love it, and recommend this. Best of luck with the sale. -

My mate had a similar issue, the case he was after had been updated and made slightly bigger, the newer version not fitting in his car boot. He saw an older version online and messaged the retailer for dimensions, specifically measuring the actual case in stock, not the manufacturers spec, which they agreed to do and replied with, and fortunately for him it was the old case sizes. He placed the order, received the case, which was the new version. So he returned it at their cost. Moral of the story, you can only trust in something when you have it and can test it yourself, the person on the other end of the phone/message could be a very helpful individual, willing and eager to help a customer. Or they could not.

I put this massive board together out of all of the bits I actually use during an average rehearsal. Covers everything I need. I've got it set up so in A/B mode it swaps between a slightly driven SVT and a very distorted SVT. Then for stomp box mode I've got it loaded with a Darkglass Microtubes capture and a Sansamp Bass Driver capture, and I'll test those two captures out and go with whatever I prefer on the day. My setup doesn't need to be any more complex than that. - Today

Good working condition with a few small dents to the metal grill. I have added insulation tape to the internal cage which took away any rattles/buzzes that these things can get. Will chuck in a -40db attenuator for the DI. Comes with the original carry case but this is slightly tatty. Can be heard/seen/tested here in sunny Bolton. Postage within UK should also be possible. -
Lovely sounding Ashdown spyder with its 2 x 12AX7 valve pre amp. Case is a bit tatty but nothing major and amp is fully functional and working. Can be tested and played here in sunny Bolton. **Postage in UK may now be an option ay buyers cost as i have some packing material to hand**-
