  1. Past hour
  2. It depends whether you are listening with your ears or with your eyes. This sounds just like a P-bass:
  3. Earlier this year, in my quest for U2 basses came these Warwicks Then came a Harry White 4003 found myself buying a Ric bridge pickup and this bloke played me some stuff he recorded using an ampeg V4B. wow. Used the HW thru the ampeg last week. Awesome not able to get everything lined up but what a year I've had Ampeg has given me the best sound I've had in 38 years of gigging
  4. Ta da, patented! 🌟😊
  5. Any offers? I’d like to get these gone, and used by someone who wants them. Basically offer what you can!
  6. Personally I’ve found the new eBay way of working much easier to sell books and low value items. Postage being arranged is a good bonus, too.
  7. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  8. Hi Andy - I’ll send you a private message on here 👍
  9. Hello! I'm from the continent... played guitar for quite a few years and wanted to try something new, so I bought a bass a few days ago! After watching BassBuzz's reviews of Cheap Arse Basses, I found a used Harley Benton PB-20 BK (never played, included a decent gig bag too). Fit and finish is not that bad, really. Certainly this can get me started. So, I am looking forward to learning something new!
  10. Although the neck bolts to the body, it's more like neck through stick bass with bolt on wings. The bridge and pickups mount to the central neck piece. If you lost the controls you could effectively use the bass without the body at all, almost. It's a bit early but I can't see that you could shim the neck to change angle.
  11. Today
  12. Hello Andy, good to hear from you and thanks for the sage advice. The truss rod has already been de tensioned. In fact it was in these pictuures. It made a bit of difference to the action height, but you are right of course, adjusting it is not going to cure this. I did consider a shim. I was a bit leery of fitting one as I thought it might mess up the seating of the bridge, whch of course sits on top of the neck but it has to be worth a try! I shall do some experimenting and report back.
  13. I shall have a BB2 with me. Unfortunately the Three10 has not arrived yet
  14. Up for grabs is my Protec Contego bass semi rigid case in fantastic condition. A small number of superficial marks from use but it doesn't have any holes and all the zips work perfectly. are currently £158 on Thomann. I'm asking £75 collected from lovely Wellingborough or £85 posted within the UK. I'm looking for a sale, no trades, ta.
  15. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  16. Which is why I've thoughtfully added a postage option so that potential buyers don't have to suffer the trauma and indignity of visiting the god forsaken place should they choose not to.
  17. I'm not a fan of LEL's reviews for a number of reasons, so I don't give them much credence. The edge on the BTB isn't all that sharp, certainly not as bad as most slab sided basses and guitars. I ordered mine blind, new from a store about 1500km away with no return possible. Sometimes you just have to jump, and adapt. I can only offer the hope that you like them, especially how it feels ergonomically on you as I can't possibly know this far away if you will. I prefer the SRs over the BTB, but not by much and could happily play either exclusively. Don't listen to the squawkers online that deride the tone and tell you that you will need to change the electronics, as they sound fine and are just a bit bland, not having a specific character. It's a bit like someone telling you that this cake tastes horrible when it's coffee cake, and they don't like coffee. Not sure what else to say, but ask and I'll help if I can. PS: The 846v is 33" and 16.5mm spacing so it's an odd duck, but I'm not really fussy about all that as my fave 5 is 34" and 18mm and my newest 6 is 35.5 - 33.6 and 16.5mm (SRMS806) and I'm enjoying it a lot after getting it yesterday.
  18. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  21. Now you need to learn about room modes...
  22. Thank you Crazy Cloud for responding and sharing your experience with the BTB. Frankly, I'm starting to wonder why Low End Lobster (plus a couple of other not so well known 'Reviewers') had a moan about how uncomfortable the BTB he was reviewing (the BTB745 - one of the BTB's on my hit list). Is it really as bad as he says it is. I'm beginning to think maybe he's making something out of nothing? My problem is when there is no BTB for sale in any store within a couple of hundred miles I could just go visit and try out I don't want to fork out hundreds of £ ordering a white elephant !😂 Thank goodness for basschat ☺️
  23. Hi, I haven't had these for long (I used to own both these pedals many years ago, but bought them for the second time recently), but a recent change in musical direction has now made these obsolete. I have about 700€ invested in these and I' m looking to get back 650€ for them which seems reasonable considering the ridiculous prices the seperate pedals go for these days. I'm selling to fund some new hardware and onboard pre-amp for my main axe, so I'm not interested in trades this time, sorry.. Shipping from Belgium. Sales pitch: Up for sale is this magnificant duo of rare pedals made by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The Proton is his take on the Mutron III filter and it doesn't get much funkier than this! The Doom is a unique sounding fuzz that is extremely dynamic and can get supersynthy. When combined these pedals offer a wide variety of funky and synthy sounding tones that are used by lany great artist that are looking to get someyhing "extra" out of their pedalboard (think of Stuart Zenders work with Jamiroquai, Tim Lefebre, Janek Gwizdala,...) Due to the very limited production these are very hard to come by and they keep going up in value, so finding a set like these two is quite a rare opportunity. Both pedals come with the original packaging and can be shipped worldwide. Kind regards, Don
