There's a fair few people who know these lurking around , I own a Ovation Magnum III which is the Passive " More conventional bodied " version of the Magnum lineup. What do you want to ask , Most important things for "value" will be checking on the condition of the active electronics and EQ , The condition of the bridge / saddles /muting setup as these are very very custom and functionally irreplicable unless you buy a parts bass. They are /were super advanced basses , for the era with a load of useful features ... things like independent volume controls for each pole in the pickup to allow you to balance the volume ... EG you can have louder or quieter strings ... and fix unbalanced volume without angling the whole damn pickup 😄

This little piece of design fiction might be of interest. The author's "janky time machine" lands in the future office of a human who, it appears, needs to prove the work he bills for is done by a human. https://www.designfictiondaily.com/p/prove-youre-not-a-robot-and-pay-for -

Really enjoying that! I like the meaty tone with a little bit of nasal accent in it too. I avoided the seasickness inducing camera work by reading the comments and allowing the video to play as I scrolled down page 1. -

Selling my set of original pre-CBS reverse wound Precision/Jazz bass tuners. I bought these for a project bass about 10 years ago. I think the ferrules were included at the time, but I can't confirm the age of the ferrules or the screws. If there are any obvious ways to verify the age of the ferrules, please let me know. Any questions, please ask.

Hello. I am a lefty base player, our lead singer has an Ovation Magnum II (right handed) in sunburst, but we know next to nothing about these basses - I think he is looking to sell it. UK based, are there any Ovation fans out there? This looks like a crazy bit of kit, with an equalizer on the body, great shape (very of the era), and very cool looking. Thanks, Rob

True. And many artists don't even have access to these project files - They just entered a studio, played their instruments, and then got a final mix at the end of it. And the project files for any song that's older than 10-20 years old will probably be very hard to locate at this point. They might have the stems, but probably not the project itself. But it's not like any streaming service will have the manpower to manually inspect the projects files of every song they're hosting on their platform, so that wasn't really a serious suggestion anyway. -

To my ears Holding Absence are more like Sempiternal-era Bring Me The Horizon, but nowhere near as interesting and 10 years too late. So basically an already derivative rock band are complaining because someone has used AI to create something similar. As I said in my earlier post, it's a publicity-seeking non-story. -
