  1. Past hour
  2. I have one, but I'm currently using it as a practice amp with a digital piano. It's never been gigged 😀 . I'm considering buying a 15 to match with it for a rather unique stereo gigging rig. Left hand through the 15, right hand through the 4x8.
  3. Bought a BB bass from Gerry. Great experience. Thank you mate x
  4. My Steinberger only has 4 strings so is seldom used and is unlikely ever to be played out again, but why would I ever sell it? It has way too much sentimental value, even if I could get a good price for it. Keep the Stingray.
  5. I have an 89 Stingray that I acquired from the original owner, a good friend of mine, in the early 90s. For years it was my only bass, went to uni with me, player in numerous bands etc etc. it was a dream bass for me at the time. It's a bit battered now and doesn't get played as much as it should, but it'll be the last bass I part with if I'm ever in the position of having to offload my selection (being in the fortunate position to now have several basses). It still plays and sounds great, and looks cool too. In fact I'm a bit inspired to take it out to my next gig after writing all that. So, obviously in your position I would hang on to it if at all possible.

The global eq and ease of access/routing the outputs was a really nice feature I thought. But there’s shouldn’t be hum!
  7. Here’s a very light case for a bass. Little protection but it’s sturdy enough. It’s the one you get free with a Thomann bass I assume. £15 delivered? (Feet not included in sale)

    NBD 🙄

Lovely sounds & appreciation from my Jazz trio last night regarding the Lakland. I reckon it could be a keeper * * Famous last words...
  10. I may be a little late, but I am interested in buying the strings.
  11. I bought a used one, it was actually a trade and I got them to throw in the cover for the 112 combo they had which doesn’t quite align with the handle but is close enough. I am impressed with it although it isn’t super loud but I don’t need loads of volume. I run a sansamp bass driver v2 into it with a scoop of mid and it sounds sweet and warm.

Hmm. Early days but it's a bit of a mixed bag so for. I've dialled in a few patches to compare with my HX Stomp and the Anagram sounds much better to my ears. The octaver tracking is also better on the Anagram. However there is a low level hum I can't get rid of even on a completely empty patch whereas the HX Stomp is completely silent. I'll work on it over the weekend but if I can't solve the hum issue it will have to go back as that's something I am completely OCD about.

  21. I use a pedal and think it sounds better with than without, but it's subtle, once saw a band where the bass player had a board with about 6 pedals on it, his bass sounded muddy and wasn't cutting through, halfway through the second set one of his leads packed in, so fair play he quickly plugged staright into his amp, after his sound really cut through and sound clear. I told him at the end, he looked at me like I was something he trodden in on the local park
  22. It’s a fantasy that I knew such a person! I have a friend who has a prodigiously talented bass playing son but he’s about to go off to uni and I’m not sure if he’s playing in any groups.
  23. Guitars and basses with mother of pearl fret markers that fill the whole space between two frets. That's because the mother of pearl sections will sound and feel very different to wooden fretboard sections, and ensure that the tone between the positions is unbalanced.
  24. I am just about to restring my Sterling usa HH 4 string to put it up for sale. keep an eye out on basschat as I will be posting it here in the next few days.
  25. Well, a Tone Rider SP1 (classic) , or the SP2 (Duke) P pickup set, depending on what I am after tonally. After that CTS, or Alpha full sized 250 K pots (if they will fit in the cavity), a decent 0.047uf capacitor (TBH Mylar is fine but orange drop if you must) and True Tone jack socket. If the cavity is too tight for full sized, Alpha mini-pots are a good alternative. I wire it up with cloth covered wire, simply because it is easier to work with. Sticky backed copper tape to shield the cavities and the back of the pickguard. Remember to have a bit of overlap from cavity to the top so that you get continuity with the shielding on the back of the pickguard. Job done😀.
  26. They do look super good!
