From the original post. So there is no need to consider impedance mismatching, or a foot-pedal tuner to switch off the sound because these are already built-in to the on-board preamp. I've just done live sound for an event which involved several bedroom acoustic players. The biggest issue I had was people leaving their tuners switched on , and not realising that it mutes the signal from the guitar. A talkback mike might be worth considering for the PA guy.

Interesting... I've always found them a bit thin and scratchy sounding. Unless I'm thinking of a different Behringer SM58 knock-off.

BBC Sound people often prefer the XM8500, if given a choice between the two. I suspect it is easier to EQ for radio/TV sound. -

I very much rate the Eden d210xst. That's why I've kept it all these years. I have tried other cabinets, including Markbass, Mesa etc. But I keep coming back to the Eden. It is a bit on the heavy side, though. -

Those Boba Fuzz pedals are fantastic, it's a 1:1 clone of the Zvex Mammoth with an added mids control on the Body dial. Looks like Vinnie's knocked his eBay shop on the head as well so there's no new ones available- 1 reply

That necks could sound much different is a moot point. During the To d Ward much was made of the body material without realising that the string passes the neck for we over 50% of its playing length. While I suspect that the pickups and other electrics have most effect it is interesting to hear other people’s opinions.

They always keep these OEM arrangements close to their chests. I know Fender Strings are made by D’Addario now Sadowsky could be using anyone’s.

Didn't you buy a lovely looking Japanese Jazz in the Summer, WoT? Lovely looking example of an AVII you have there! If you get a good one, the American Vintage/Original/Vintage II Jazzes are some of the very best around. I know what people mean about the side dot markers - the ones on my American Original just about disappear on a dark stage, but it's no real issue usually. It looks like yours has a single piece back, too. That always improves resonance. I've been very impressed by the '66 pickups (used a set in a custom build bass earlier this year and just bought some more for my MGCS/Aurok Walnut/Graphite Jazz build. Oh, and Lollipop tuners for the win! Congrats

MARSHALL BB-2 Not to be confused with the original Bluesbreaker pedal, which was essentially a preamp-in-a-box - this is a dedicated, dual-mode overdrive pedal. "Boost" mode is a transparent-sounding clean boost, designed to push the front end of your amp harder, while "Blues" mode gives a much more shaped (and saturated!) tone, reminiscent of the original Bluesbreaker amps being dimed. I bought this pedal back in something like 2010. It was my main distortion effect for a while, and did a handful of gigs with me, but as I've experimented with new effects and different amps, I find myself using it less and less. I still have the original box and user's manual, which are a little worn in places (see pictures); the pedal itself is in excellent condition. Only one thing: the controls originally had black position indicators painted on them, which have mostly rubbed off over the years. Up to you whether you leave them as is, or paint some new ones on! Price includes postage to mainland UK. If you'd like it sent to a different country, drop me a PM. Open to sensible offers! -
@King Tut I’ve done the scientific weigh myself three times, weigh me and the bass three times, and then take the average difference between the two, and the bass weighs 4.4kg (or 9.7lbs for those who prefer old money). -
Mine is coming from Temu as well - about £20 as you mentioned. Bargain for that price! Amazon was quicker for delivery but and extra £15 or so...

I got mine off Aliexpress and Temu (got two, long story). Arrived within a week and cost about £20 each. I couldn't find anywhere in the UK that sold them at a reasonable price.

So I am going for a short scale, but as It is because of an injury, I don’t want to pay out too much as, once I have recovered, I may go back to 34” basses. I have a bass that was paid for with some of the money my Mum left me. So the question is Hartwood Delta or Harley Benton MV-4MSB? The Harley Benton looks great but is not immediately available. The Hartwood Delta is available and the only downside is that I like black basses. If we ignore the colour issue, what should I go for?
