  1. Past hour
  2. Thank you, Joe, it play's as good as it looks
  3. Advert updated, now blue body with Maple mex neck and a price drop 😊
  4. Looks a good modding platform being a Japanese Ibanez. What's the weight?
  5. I always thought they were pointless too, until I got an Origin compressor and the sound is just fantastic. It’s even across all strings, rich, warm and punchy. I guess it smooths out the sound, and it does just sound much better. Most of my gigs are with double bass now but I still use it for jazz gigs and whatever and it really helps my jazz basses sound great.
  6. ..and yet reading back through this thread it is quite a good example of how internet forums can be quite unhelpful. The OP was just concerned about not blowing a speaker to which they got the answer in the first couple posts - check what it says on the back, and if the amp has a higher watt rating than the speaker don't turn it up full!!
  7. I was genuinely surprised by the core quality/value for money of the DiMavery bass tbh.
  8. I bought one of these (plus the combo version) from @Raslee. Excellent bit of kit, does what it should, an easy one hand lift with the top handle.
  9. Sean Hurley. Sorry Sean.
  10. Standard. I was very pleased this week that a similar thread ended up with the OP making a decision and taking action by acquiring something recommended in the thread. I reckon it happens about once a year. 😆
  11. Today
  12. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  13. PM sent.
  14. I’ve looked at all of my gear to see if there’s anything I can sell to get to £1700. alas. No.
  15. Damn, pending the weight I’d have this straight off you, but I’m nowhere near….down in High Wycombe. Si
  16. How much does it weigh?
  17. I hate (operating) compressors. I bought a TC Spectracomp. I tried all the programmed settings I found one I liked. I never have to think about compressors now. When it comes to playing with fingers, the accepted way is to use two fingers. This is great. However, 1 finger was actually good enough for JJ and he seemed to get around just fine. I watched a vid of that guy who had a signature P bass who is a hotshot US session bod (sorry, I cannot remember his name) who was playing with one finger and it does give a subtly different timing/groove.
  18. Ball Out Boy Mullet For My Valentine Snot Patrol
  19. Always find these kind of things funny. Designer designs a pedal. Decides its not good enough. It's "rediscovered" and automatically becomes the best thing ever. Reminds me of when music artists die and they find demos they decide to release. Literally things they've made that weren't good enough and literally didn't want to release. That being said, this sounds quite cool, but how different is it to the actual op amp version that was released? Been years since I used a muff.
  20. For sale is my 2016 Fender American Elite Jazz Bass, made in Corona, California, finished in 3-Tone Sunburst with maple fingerboard. This bass is in genuine 10/10 condition — no dings, no marks, no issues. It has been extremely well looked after and is exactly as it left the factory. It comes with the original Fender Elite moulded hard case, which is also in excellent condition. Specs: • Made in USA (Corona, CA) • 2016 model • Alder body • Maple neck & fingerboard • Compound radius fingerboard (9.5”–14”) • Modern C/D neck profile • Graphite reinforced neck • Fender 4th-Gen Noiseless Jazz pickups • 18V active preamp with active/passive switch • HiMass bridge • Lightweight tuners • Original electronics, hardware, and finish Condition: • 10 out of 10 • No mods • No repairs • Fully original • Perfect neck, frets, and electronics Reason for sale: This is an absolutely superb bass, but I personally prefer the burp and growl of my ’62 passive Jazz Bass. purely a tone preference. I did consider converting this bass to passive, but ultimately decided against it as I didn’t want to alter or “ruin” such a well-designed, high-end instrument. It deserves to stay exactly as Fender intended.
