  2. Hey @SumOne and @deerhunter113 did you hold onto your GX-10 and, if so, how are you finding it after a living with it for several months? Was looking at the specs of portable multi-fx to save me removing/reinserting my GT1000 Core each time I want something smaller for use on public transport and this seems to be a much more capable piece of kit than many in a similar £300 price bracket e.g. Helix Pod Go with its ancient chip set! Quite enjoyed this chap's review:
  3. Hi, bass is made in 2017.
  4. Exactly the wear is perfection, worth every penny and tells such a story! Such a beauty of an instrument!
  5. Metric on a US-made bass? I guess pigs can fly!
  6. I've used Accu.co.uk several times to source replacement screws of various sizes. Excellent service and you can buy small quantities. If you know the thread size and length of the screw you should be able to find a replacement there. Here's an example: https://www.accu.co.uk/metric-cap-head-screws/3864-SSCF-M6-10-A2
  7. Without wishing to teach Granny etc, there are some good YouTube videos on the “Discover Double Bass” channel and online courses from them that got me started, although I did have a few in person lessons to start with. It’s a rabbit hole from which I haven’t really emerged. . . 🤣
  8. Cheers! Yeah, if I were still gigging regularly, I'd be clinging on to this amp. But I'll be keeping my Little B*ast*rd 30 for recording - probably my joint favourite with the CTM-100! - so I can't really justify keeping both of them.
  9. Because the word status belongs to the 4th declension, but also because oral language came first so grammar is linked to it, and the rules derive from the oral language to integrate the written language to "lock" it. In fact, the genitive form is statūs, which is different in pronunciation of status, so again a strong link to the oral language. I didn't create the Latin grammar, so it's the only explanation you'll get (from me), furthermore like in any language, there are exceptions...
  10. Alright Davi.
  11. And what a disappointing gigbag at that! Fender can do better. I generally prefer gigbags over hardcases for portability and because they're easier to store, but having been spoiled by Mono I would be seriously disappointed to receive the one the Am Pro II Classics ship in.
  12. They used to be worth that, when they were still built by G&G. Nowadays they use Chinese-made copies, which are noticeably less in quality… even for their flagship line, the American Vintage. still, better dan the new American Standard Classic of ~1600£, which comes with a gigbag.
  13. More personal nostalgia, Phil Lynott's complete bass part to 'The Cowbody Song' from the classic 1978 Thin Lizzy album, 'Live And Dangerous'. There are two charts on there; they key I hear it in (Gb) and the key it was probably 'played' in (G major). I suspect the guitars were de-tuned a half step as, firstly, there is a low Eb in the introduction and throughout the tune and, secondly, because this recording predates the common use of 5 string basses. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-cowboy-song-thin-lizzy/

    Rush.

I bought front standing area for Iron Maiden at the London Arena, an hour beforehand. I was about 10 people from the front. I paid £130 including booking fee. My freinds had seats much further back and paid a lot more for them. Really these huge events are overhyped. I almost got some tickets to see Rush around 2004 at the O2 Arena, same day for about half the face value, quite close to the front.
  15. Thanks and after further investigation it appears the nut has sheared off the rod which explains it.
  16. It was the only url available or that Andre could afford at the time he set up statii.com?
  17. I thought you were Stuart Zender for a mo! Ahh...the 90s.. ❤️
  18. Location: Teesside (N.E.)
  19. He's said he doesn't know any theory at all, which I infer as he never plays scales or arpeggios etc. Most of us, when we're learning a bassline will work out "okay so that's a simple arpeggio for the next coupe of bars" or "it's a pentatonic run" which makes it easier to remember and work out what to play BUT also means if you had to vary it a bit that'd be a doddle. Just start the scale on a different note, go down for the 5th instead of up, could play a different scale or chord tone and that's kind of how I write an orginal bassline, even if I'm not aware of it - the more basslines you learn, the more theory you have, the more scales and patterns you've practised the bigger your selection of tools. Giaccomo has no tools in his toolkit. He plays the notes, he doesn't know what they are or why they work so he can't change them. That's what I think. He steals because he literally can't write anything himself. He's a mimic.
