  1. Past hour
  2. Downtuning, if you've never done it and like a bit of filth and swagger, is life-changing.
  3. I had an Ibanez SR505 which was my first 5 string, never looked back. I loved the both-on tone but it felt less impressive when the blend went towards the neck or bridge pickup. Lovely rich, burpy, almost R&B tone, I think I’d categorise as 90s bartolini. Very slim neck with tight spacing so fast but I could not slap or pick. Good bass. Light. Fast. But not for me.
  4. Google AI implies Reclusiarch Records is just a single person who does electronic mixes (ie, "band" is a heck of a stretch): "Reclusiarch Records appears to be primarily associated with Reclusiarch Aurelius, a user on SoundCloud, a platform for sharing electronic music, particularly mixes and tracks with a retro or trance/techno vibe, referencing iconic mixes like Global Underground 006 and Global Underground 010. While not a formal record label, the name evokes the Reclusiarch (Chaplain) figure from Warhammer 40,000, suggesting a thematic link to solitude, lore, and perhaps dark, immersive electronic sounds. Key Aspects: SoundCloud Presence: Reclusiarch Aurelius is the main entity, known for uploading mixes and remixes. Genre/Style: The content leans towards electronic, trance, and techno, with specific references to classic mixes. Thematic Naming: "Reclusiarch" draws from the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40k, implying deep, perhaps solitary or intense musical exploration. In essence, think of it as a personal music curation identity rather than a commercial label, focused on deep cuts and nostalgic electronic sounds."
  5. Women: kingaglyk.com Alissia Benveniste Mohini Dei Men: Tom Kennedy Richard Bona charlesberthoud.com I don't think you lost a thing. These are flashy players but I still think most of the bass work is done in half or first position and with roots and fifths. Good timing is still the key.
  6. Michael Puble (Pronounced the same way, just with a 'P'....try it!)
  7. "Our band is launching a new album and we are in need of a lead, rhythm and bass guitarist as well as a drummer with and electric kit" Our band aka singer
  8. I had one as a monitor and noodled through it at home a couple of times. Was impressed but never used it as an amp with other players.
  9. "Our band" is looking for everyone else required for "us" to use the term "band".
  10. Used the Fender flats on a gig last night - I’m a convert! Three piece band playing at a weekly rock n roll club, and my tone fitted in perfectly. Thanks for all your comments and help. 😊
  11. Right, this is where it ends (famous last words 🙄). Both serve a purpose atm though.
  12. Thanks. I like the M5 ( I already have an M2). It's on the short list.
  13. Many thanks for replying. The 305 looks very nice in that colour otherwise its a bit of a budget bass IMO and the thin neck and string spacing I'm not sure would be right for me. There are so many SR's out there 😳
  14. Would be tempting to buy the company name and relevant domains a la Apprentice interview week.
  15. have a mk2 Octabvre for sell instead of trade...if that's worth that much now .
  16. I have an M2. It was my first 5. Others I've bought have come and gone but I've kept my M2. I especially love the neck and maple fretboard (I have the Teal colour). I've pondered on the M5/M7 but often wondered how much better they are than the M2 given they have so many parts common to all models.
  17. Funnily enough I think their first masterclass and gig in London was platoons 15 years ago. It has to be my greatest ever musical experience.
  18. No idea where they’d gone. They are there now
  19. I was perusing the Join My Band ads for my area when I came across this gem: https://www.joinmyband.co.uk/classifieds/performers-needed-t1547705.html Reading between the lines (and perusing this person’s other posts), this is a singer and instrumentalist who has written and recorded a set of material and now wants people to perform it to their exact requirements, even down to using the person’s own equipment. Prospective performers are invited to be interviewed (not auditioned) and advised that the choreography may be a challenge, and that they will sign up as employees of a limited company, of which Companies House hold no record. The whole thing is a massive red flag! I’ll let you know how my interview goes…
  20. Despite changing to a Line6 Pod GO recently, I have no intention of selling my MX81 yet. It's such a great pedal.
  21. Reluctantly putting this out there again! Didn't sell earlier in the year but still not playing it so would be nice to find it a new home, and I could use the funds for a new mixing desk!
  22. Michael League in Snarky Puppy
  23. Today
  24. Joe Dart without a doubt
