  2. That's the Big Split fron Nordstrand's site: This is the only internal pic of a Big Single I can find, not from an official source though:
  3. Potato Land - Spirit
  4. This is my entertainment highlight of the day so far. No way am I taking it seriously
  5. Charlie Big potato - Skunk Anansie
  6. Hmm possibly @lemmywinks Any further advice out there?
  7. Just learned that the wonderful actor Adrian Dunbar who, among many other roles, played Chief Superintendent Ted Hastings in Line of Duty is a member of our club... "Although he’d achieve fame in films such as My Left Foot (1989) and The Crying Game (1992), Dunbar started out as a musician. In the 1970s, he played bass and sang backing vocals in an Elvis impersonator’s band." https://inews.co.uk/culture/television/adrian-dunbar-people-trust-bbc-not-any-more-3842057
  8. Anyone in or around Bournemouth for a one-hour gig I can’t make? Early Ska/Bluebeat. Gig is in Wincanton. Happy to meet up and run through quietly! Email me [email protected] Cheers.
  9. Thought I’d join in as I’ve got something mildly interesting to post for a change - this just turned up from Master Effects in Canada, ordered from him on Reverb 28/7 and shipped on 2/8 to arrive today - no fees or anything to pay which was a bonus. Haven’t tested it properly yet but going to gig it tonight with a local trio where I go direct to PA/IEM’s so we’ll see how it goes, might be on the marketplace next month 😁 Highly recommend dealing with Master Effect’s tho, it’s a 1 man band afaik (well he may employ people but it’s a small operation like Sushi Box etc) and he couldn’t have been more helpful. I’ll probably give the Super 800+ a go at some point as well - the pedal is extremely well made and sounds excellent but I’ll reserve judgement proper till I’ve gigged with it a bit
  10. Well, I'll have a go, but can't vouch for the results...
  11. Does this help? I've run the ending of the track through Logic Pro's stem splitter to isolate the bass (it's not perfect and it hasn't managed to separate the bass guitar from the synth bass - however as it's in unison I think this serves it's purpose). Peaches Ending.wav
  12. If only I didn't need a new cabinet first....nice amp.. Best of luck with the sale.
  13. You’re in danger of taking this thread seriously….
  14. You typically want to go up a gauge for short scale, going up 2 gauges will give you the same tension as long scale however you want to avoid that as the same tension on a shorter scale bass will feel stiffer.
  15. Today
  16. Omega Badass II clone in chrome, in great condition. I've had it in my spares box going unused for a while now and I don't think I'm going to use it. The saddles have been slotted for 19mm spacing. No mounting screws or Allen Key included as i never received any with them.
  17. Whilst I shamefully must admit to speeding up the playback for bass parts, I can now see how slowing down could work: Just slow down by a factor 128, and use tally marks on a sheet of paper for the individual hertzes. 👍😐
  18. Had also been asked about the weight of this: 4.15 kg / 9.15 lbs
  19. Curious which Yamaha bass models you mean or just Yamaha basses in general?
  20. Becos CompIQ MINI Pro Compressor - £140 Delivered in UK. In brand new condition with box. Purchased from Joe's Pedals in May this year. I love compressors and like to try as many as possible. This one is fantastic and gives my favoured Keeley Compressor Pro a real run for the money. Once I dialled in my settings I couldn't tell them apart. The Becos is much cheaper and has several additional features. Potential buyers are welcome to try out in Glasgow. https://becosfx.com/product/compiq-mini-pro-compressor-pedal-for-guitar-bass/#description https://joespedals.com/collections/pedals/products/compiq-mini-pro-compressor
  21. Do you think it might be obvious because it exists already? It certainly makes nut adjustments an absolute breeze either way.
  22. Saw this clip posted on Insta for promo. Looked snappy! Anyone know what video editing software likely to have been used? Insta promo clip.mp4
  23. Ladies/gents. This Jazz PU is from a 'VM P/J bass' which Ive converted back to P bass only. Reason for the carnage? It's one of the nicest P bass's Ive ever played. Light weight, with a great neck and tone and as you'll see in the photo nicely re-done by yours truly with a vintage bridge and in my fav colour.....BMW Gold! These DD PU's are SD's sleepers and this J PU is 'honky' as it gets. I could get a really nice Jaco bark from it.. but that tone is not my thing hence the conversion. Fully adjustable pole pieces and the little cutout is just so the wires could run freer. Pic of bass after conversion is for reference only... Its defo not for sale. £30 plus say 3 quid for postage? Cheers
  24. Yamaha have been making musical instrument since 1887 and pianos in 1900, which is why their logo is three tuning forks.
  25. It's a thing in the cello world as well "antiqued" - no, if I'm buying a new instrument I want is to look nice, not as if someone has thrashed it with branches off a holly tree
  26. Aren't those Big Splits, hence the split coil? Better pickups IMO, spacing too narrow for me though
