  1. Past hour
  2. I guess that means you need to define what a typical 5 is. I mean my rick 5 is exactly the same width as the rick 4, wheras my typical 5s are between 60mm and 70mm at the bridge where I know a lot of people have crazy wide basses that are almost 60mm for just the 4 strings. I really don't believe that your hand manages to fail to work properly with 10mm extra width.
  3. I understand all that. I’m 100% certain the deposit would have been refunded if I’d gone to the shop and decided it wasn’t for me, but I didn’t like the way it was handled and the suggestion I was a timewaster or somehow not trustworthy. It was enough for me not to buy the instrument.
  4. OK I've decided on a little demo/shootout for the SW Bash. We've never done a proper blind test before, because we've never managed to totally hide the speakers This time I've realised my band's banner is big enough to hide a good number of speakers so I can re-purpose it and do a properly blind test. I won't say more because then it wouldn't be a fair test
  5. dont the Vintage Fenders have a clear coat sealer on them prior to painting, I had a Mocha brown one that I took the paint off with nail polish remover...
  6. I guess there's always a possibility that a deposit is taken to remove an item from sale, the potential purchaser delays for whatever reason, then asks for the deposit back. The retailer has then lost days or maybe weeks when they could've made a sale.
  7. Glad it's not the proctologist
  8. 12 String 16 series Martin guitar for sale. It was made in 2005 and I bought it in 2015 from Fellowship of Acoustics in the Netherlands. It’s a lovely guitar in both sound and to play. There are a few references to the guitar on the web people say how nice it is to play and I can confirm this. In the 10 years I have had it it’s been gigged twice and taken to less than half a dozen rehearsals. It developed a crack in the lower side of body of about 25mm quite early on. It did not increase in size as it was next to the cross bracing. I have had this repaired by a professional luthier a few months ago (details are available) and I have pictured this repair. He also set the guitar up and fitted Martin strings. There is also a ding on the bottom of the guitar. Six years ago I had an LR BAGGS Element VTC Micro Piezo fitted by a local guitar shop. It is an under saddle/preamp jack with volume and tone controls. It comes with the OHSC which is very clean. 9. It’s a nice answer but I’d say it’s as worthless as a “sold as seen” notice in a shop (ie you’d have a very good chance of getting all the cash back in court). The deposit should relate to the potential losses a company light face. In this instance. I’d argue the losses were negligible. I also felt the deposit terms (10%) was too much.
  10. Hi is this bass still available?
  11. I’m Selling these a a job lot as it’s not worth splitting them. There is: Behringer Vintage Delay Behringer Compressor Behringer Chorus Donner Harmonic Square (octave) All three are in original boxes and have never been gigged. I will also sling in a power supply with a 5-way splitter. Includes shipping
  12. Nice bass. Not looking for a p bass, but thought I'd say hi from another Frome-based Basschat member!
  13. No worries that's what I thought, worth a try though. If someone else wants to take the C4 off your hands let me know and take the controller. Cheers
  14. I have one of these and it’s very good. I don’t fiddle with the controls much, tending to leave it in passive mode in the usual 60:40 jazz pup mix but I do like the string spacing
  15. These basses are amazing. I love mine handles every genre you throw at it! GLWTS
  16. I’m reducing my gear at the moment and my Rumble 200 has to go. This has only been gigged about 10 times since I got it new in 2015. It’s got some scuffs on the right hand side but this is just paint residue from my door frames. I have 3 Rumbles (a 25w and a 100w) and am impressed with them all. Great sound, great weight and reasonable price. 17. J-Rod & The 4 Korners....
  18. After a good 3 weeks or so of not playing my Spector and instesd my Fenders, Musicman and Alpher my arms and shoulder are pain free which gives me a pretty clear indication that unfortunately, despite my love for Spectors they are not suited to me as a gigging instrument. I'll probably be listing it on here regrettably when I get a chance and maybe look for a Fender P bass V.
  19. @kiat Is That running straight into the Pa and Monitors ... basically the setup we are looking at moving towards .. i'd love to hear some of the tones you got out . I have a dry run tomorrow which is going to be real interesting , rather than waste our singer and drummers time we've got a midweek tech rehearsal , which is setting up in my living room Amp less Modellers into PA practice ( other half is away for a few days) We have Me with my new GP5 , / Trusty old Zoom b3 .. /// Our guitarist with his brand new Quad cortex // Another guitarist with some other modelling solution Our tests are ... can we all share space in the PA .... Guitarist A is trying to convince me try out / share his QC as he keeps saying it supports ! 4 people but im not sure i like the idea of not having control"
  20. A great fretless bass with a neck through body construction with double-cutaway mahogany body wings attached to a maple and bubinga neck with a fretless rosewood fingerboard with no inlays. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK-1 split coil passive pickups with independent volume controls channelled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a two-band EQ, a custom bridge with AeroSilk piezo pickups and 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines. In addition to the controls on the front of the bass, there are a set of four trimpots on the rear cavity cover which allow you to dial in the piezo volume for each string individually. Strung with Chrome Flats. Weight 7.2lbs I’ve recently had a problem with the electronics (see my postings) but after a trip to a luthier in Leeds (BJ’s) it has been sorted with a new jack socket and overhaul of the electronics inside. It’s only been gigged once since I bought it in 2019. I can’t see any dings on it and I will supply this with a gig bag Price includes insured delivery although if you want to collect/meet up within 50 miles of Hull I can knock the delivery price off.
  21. Some more pics
  22. 2m 30s shows lower gain settings Listening to it, isn’t helping me with wanting to sell it 🙄 was fine in box not looking at me.
  23. That would put me off too, I had a similar instance a while back with a shop near Yarmouth which is quite a way from me, I asked him to save an early P bass he had listed , and he said no and it sold that evening , puts you off dealing with some people
