No complaints here with the Lekato WS-70, but maybe I'm a cloth-eared idiot.

There’s a lot more that can be done too by a professional, such as nut height adjustment or fret levelling. It made a huge difference to my Fender when I took it to the bass gallery in Camden for work to the neck.

Where do they have them back in stock? Keen to try one out as a former Super P5 owner. Also trying to not look at the Canadian Super P on the for sale page

Christ on a bike. Having read all this and followed the Vice link, I can safely say that I wouldn't use their studios if they paid me. My go-to in Bristol is definitely Firebird in Brislington.

I've depped with a band 'we don't do rehearsals' so it works for some bands. I find working on PA setups and arrangements in a relaxed environment brings many benefits. -

That amp has a real classic look. I remember reading about them and all reviews were good, so think you`ve got a good score there Pete.

It`s not too bad, I was quoted 24 months in April this year, Mark has been in touch and said it`s looking like Nov 2026 so that`s a good few months early. Will be a nice Xmas pressie to myself.

There was also a special edition USA P & J about eight years ago.

Best ear defenders for live performance?

Well I had custom moulded ones and they would gradually by the end of the first set work their way out which was pretty worrying being hit by a wall of noise. Went over to a pair of el cheapo soft black three cups for pennies and no more probs and ears feel fresh and relaxed after a three hr set. -
G&L MFD pickups - UK Vendors
BassApprentice replied to BassApprentice's topic in Accessories and Misc
No I never went through with that idea...always tempting though as the pickups were reasonably priced when I last looked. I assume the situation is the same, try and order via GuitarGuitar or Andertons and see where you get to -

Second full rehearsal with my friend’s glam startup. Nice big room at Pirate in Reading, which we need because he brings an electronic kit. We have some backing tracks and a click, so we did the whole rehearsal on in-ears - guitarist used a Pod Go, I plugged my bass straight into a Hi-Z input on my XR18. We didn’t need any of the kit in the room but it’s proved impossible to hire a village hall in a suitable location! I’d say it went really well, and for once everyone got there in good time and remembered to bring everything they needed! I recorded most of it to Reaper on my laptop with a view to editing out the chat and uploading rough mix on mp3 to Google Drive so that each person can listen critically to their own playing and singing. -

I understand, perhaps we should use the full over ear protectors I use when carrying out noisy machining operations at gigs as well? This is all about management of risk, and I'm very aware of the circumstances when I feel protection is useful, and I know how to insert and use standard earplugs correctly and to be aware if they are working or not. I also have developed mild tinnnitis following being hospitalised with vestibular neuritis, so I have an idea of what the consequences are. <edit> I also use a dB app on my phone when attending gigs - I'm not sure of its absolute accuracy compared to my proper dB meter, but I assume it's relative accuracy is pretty good. It's worrying that a few bands playing in a local venue can be 10-12dB louder than Alice Cooper in an arena at less than twice the distance from the PA, and they get upset when asked to turn down.
