  1. Past hour
  2. @dave_bass5 Andertons were estimating next Thursday for their stock so hopefully you won't be waiting too long!
  3. Yeah, although 4 hours wouldn’t get me through a rehearsal. Hoping it will work with the Chocolate plus.
  4. Looks like a useful practice and gigable backup tool, especially with the built-in battery.
  5. I've got almost the same bass (mine is unlined) - I ended up swapping the pickups (as the default hum buckers were lacking in clarity) and stripping out the (dodgy) electronics to convert to passive, along with giving the fingerboard a wee sand down as it had some dings and flat spots on it. Great option for a lightweight and portable fretless.
  6. Ordered from Amazon for £109. No idea how long the wait is but it's exactly what I feel the GP-5 is missing.
  7. I didn't mention but I have also tried v1.1 as I did spot the firmware version might be a potential issue. No luck. Network is not set to connect automatically
  8. The thing that strikes me from the plots above is how broadly uniform most are. The major peaks and troughs occur at similar points for many.
  9. Best is a Harley Benton mahogany bass uke and a set of the Galli-Kala flats for it. I take it everywhere as it lives in the car. I'm playing and learning 10x more now. Best £150 all in I've ever spent. As a very busy dad of 2 with autism, It's really made a huge difference to my overall mental health. My fam is reaping the benefits too as I'm a much less frustrated and now happier daddio these days 👍
  10. You are right - a good reminder. I think that I wanted to have the complete story, not just for me, but for others who find this thread in the future. However, in gathering the details together, I had forgotten that my goal was to get a piano which worked for me, both now and in the future.
  11. Brian, eBay store "earlpilanz", has a template for the 44-64. He'll email you a PDF to check against yours and save you sending off the original. It's a Cat 3 size, £42 for standard 3 ply rising to £55 for mirror finish. You'll find it listed in the description for . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114490584526?itmmeta=01KC6FXR70KVEKCGYES866A6MA&hash=item1aa82badce:g:bt8AAOSwloxfnA5O
  12. And if money is tight, Bonners, Andertons and many others offer real 0% finance over 3 to 6 months: This could be a great plus allowing you to buy the best keyboard for you, and not especially the more expensive one.
  13. You need to change the network settings so that networks are NOT connected to automatically. On IOS you need to disable Auto Join for all your networks. I have never found this setting on Android but both IoS and Android assume that you must be connected to the Internet and try to force it by default. In fact Windows does something similar.
  14. In this case put the money in and buy the real deal, which is 2.5 times more expensive. I have an Ibanez 6 strings bass set, an Hosco 6 strings guitar set and some other different gauges Hosco files since more than 2 decades and only some of the Ibanez files start to show some wear, but I made hundreds of nuts with these... So buy well, buy once. 😉
  15. Stunning 😍
  16. A bigger brother to the GP-5. Two footswitches, more knobs so you can edit on device, MIDI In/Out with mini jacks, stereo out, expression/footswitch jack, 4 hour battery life. Looks good! https://www.valeton.net/product/gp-50/
  17. Five colours in her hair Mcfly Does Your Mother Know ABBA
  18. If you did a factory reset the firmware will revert to that installed at manufacture. Probably V1.1.x. The Mixpad Version must be in the same numeric area as the installed firmware. It is explained better on thr A&H website. So download a copy of Mixpad 1.1 and it will probably connect. You can then update the firmware, either directly via the Mixpad app OR via a USB stick with the updated software installed.
  19. Agreed! Quite a change to the NBD picture, in a good way! Very cool that it was so easy to find alternate PUPs that are same size as the stock ones, and EMGs (from my experience with them on my Spector) are a great choice.
  20. Yep, you're spot on, I checked the dimensions and it's a Plus. Have updated the listing. Thanks for the heads up.
  21. Why don't you go for the Roland FP-30X as it will tick all your boxes without the need for an external audio interface and as you'll also need the 3 pedals option for the next grades, it will be the perfect companion. Sometimes looking only at the price is the worst thing to do.
  22. Hell of a player, that Jorge. Saw him with Julian Lage a while back and the level of musical telepathy between them was incredible.
  23. Mrs Zero and I do a lot of songs at open mics. Last night - Hallelujah, Hero, Many rivers to cross. If you have one other who can do enough vocals to do duets, there's a few others to consider. We do Perfect Day as a duet by one of us singing the first two lines of each verse, then the other the last two. There's the somewhat dark Where the wild roses grow (Kylie and Nick Cave).
  24. Today
  25. Well... slightly off-topic but still, a bit on. Anyway. The guitarist in one of my bands (a 3 piece - guitar/drums/bass) flat-out asked me if I was still into it and I had to say that I'm really not. I was meant to be going a rehearsal on Tuesday but he's asked to have a chat with me this weekend instead. Truth is, I find it really hard to work with the drummer as she's inconsistent with tempo, very loud too, focused on fills instead of getting the basic beat right and the two of the start fast and speed up. If I was into the material I'd try and work with them but I'm not enjoying the songs - the angular alt-punk thing grates on me after a few numbers. I feel really bad as I enjoy spending time with both but the beers after are much more fun than the music bit. Urgh. This bit of playing music sucks....
