This is pretty much how I’ve done it. Nobody expects you to be perfect but they do want you to look like you’re having fun. This list is exhaustive and would be great if I was going to the bass seat in Jamiroquai but for most of the bands I’ve been in, being friendly, turning up on time and knowing the songs is enough.

Never played a Rick. Would love the chanxe to channel my inner (David) Lemmy.

There will be a good number of people with a few basses each. That's vastly more than most music shops, and I find I gravitate to just a few. I've noticed that however many basses you bring, only one or two get attention. The rest get ignored by everyone except @stewblack who loves the obscure 😁 This year I might address my prejudices and try playing a g&l and a Ric, if there are any present. I may bring my Amplug and headphones as well.

When I get back from London, I'll drop the back seat down and put my stuff in first and see how much space is left. You are welcome to the glove compartment and that little cubby hole between the two front seats. Oh yes, and the top box 😊 let's not forget that. With the back seats down, there's circa 1620 litres, top box is another 500 litres. let's see how many I can get in and work from there.

Just the one gig in Sept and same for Oct. Now looking at a 2nd band again to fill in the long gaps between Glam gigs. Dave

Fender Jazz graphite necks £450 - now accepting individual orders
Kiwi replied to Kiwi's topic in Graphite neck - ordering
I haven't firmed up the shipping logistics only because it depends on how much the final necks and packaging actually weigh. But yes, I can substitute any sender address you wish when we get to that point. -

Combustions and NGs i've had (a total of 5) were 9-10lb, my D-Roc being just under 10lb. My SP-1 was 9lb. I've picked up some Combustions in shops that were 10+, I think wood variation was the issue here. However my ash ABZ is under 8lb, this headless Effigy I would expect to be the same or even less.

Fender Vintera 60s Jazz vs Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz: which one?
Marvin replied to Marvin's topic in Bass Guitars
Would it be fair to say the Vintera is quite a bit of money to have a Fender decal on the headstock? -
Now the preamp - a clone of the Darkglass Tone Capsule, there are schematics on various forums. Made on stripboard, I had most of the components already other than a few capacitor values and the IC, got them from Bitsbox. Works great

And most importantly, roll up an enormous Up In Smoke-style reefer as soon as you arrive...

Its a fair point, everytime, and I mean everytime I try a big old solid state a/b type amp it is night and day difference to a small class d head. Cabs too. They just push air in that old satisfying way, that I've never really got with a lightweight cab - although I can see why people don't want to lug those about.

It's a fantastic pedal - the okto side is my personal favourite octaver, the tracking is excellent, and it sounds awesome. I do love the fuzz side for low-gain synthy sounds, but don't have much call for it with gigs at the moment. Like you, it's been on the board for ages.

I’m very keen to try the 100. I liked the bass whammy, but the tone suck from the pedal was pretty noticeable. My fav pitch shifter for bass was the Eventide Pitchfactor, with an expression pedal. That was a great whammy. I assume the H9 does it just as well. The PF was funny about which expressions pedals it liked though, which was annoying. I think it was the only pedal I’ve ever used that wouldn’t work with a Moog EP-3. From the guitar pedal demos, it seems to have that hifi clear reproduction of the Eventide, which really appeals to me, as I use it after dirt and modulation for a more synth-like pitch shift. Its not cheap, but if it sounds good, I’m very tempted.

If I’d won the jackpot last night AB would have had all three of those P basses sold!

that joke isn't funny anymore it's too close to home and it's too near the bone more than you will ever know....

EDIT: I’m now including a very high-quality hard case. Made in Canada lots of padding inside and plush fur. Really nice Ray4. Low action and can go even lower. Really great feeling neck (satin). Currently strung with rounds. Weight is about 3.9 kg. In great condition; the only mark I can see is a small dink on the back. I’ve seen bases in shops in worse condition than this. Oddly, there are two screws missing from the control plate and no holes drilled. Must’ve come from the factory like that I was going to drill some and put screws in but never bothered as it's not the jack end. not sure how to price this, as prices seem to fluctuate but given the condition I’m gonna go for... £300 delivered or near offer less if collected and can meet somewhere in Hertfordshire or Essex
