Jaguar SS are a bit special though 🤩 -
Selling my Tele bass, in all used it for no more than 10 minutes after buying it. Its in mint condition cannot see a mark on it, has all protective plastic on pick guard and tuners still attached, comes with original gig bag and the bag candy too. Purchased to try and trigger a push back into playing again earlier in the year but it didn't hit the spot for me, just didn't get on with the slab body. Selling it as I am picking up my Nate more and more, would like this to fund a LB30 2.n. Good point. I have both so will check later if I can find them both. I think the P2 expects line level.

I like the colour a lot. Hadn’t heard of this maker before but sounds like a good experience.

That’s really nice, and the colour looks great with the tort. Looks good in the pic with the other two basses too.

I received an email from gear4 music of sorts yesterday . It was a blank reply to the last conversation I had with them . So I looked on their website and the price is now £674 for the 5 string in green . Trouble now is , I’ve been messing around on my Warwick corvette which I got setup to B-E-A-D a couple of months ago. I’m now thinking that maybe I don’t need a 5 string after all .😮💨 I’m loving the feel of the Warwick ,and think I’m too set in my ways for a 5 string now . I think I’ll just be making more Les Dawson impressions if I got the extra string . Although the Warwick I s the weight of the buffalo 🦬 it’s not too bad sitting down . I was gonna sell it and get the Cort ,but it seems better to stick with what I have .

Whilst the colour isn't to my liking - the rest of the work looks great. Quite a convincing relic job, although the neck has no reason to be so worn after the 7th fret! 😂😉

Not many info about this bass, but this is what the previous owner got: "The bass has no labels in it, but I’ve asked around, and I understand that it’s probably an East German “Musima” model from the 1970s or possibly a pre-Strunal Aria Excelsior imported to the UK by Boosey & Hawkes. It belonged to a lady Music Teacher who taught the playing of stringed instruments. She sold it to me as she was retiring and moving to Birmingham, and, whilst she had the bass for over 40 years, she only now had room for her violin, viola, and her cello." So, few marks here and there but it is a lovely sounding instrument, laminated with blond finish. Ultra low action and setup with Thomastik Superflexible. Soft as butter, but if you push too hard will have a light buzz on low B and C. Comes with a really good wheeled gig bag, French bow (old, unmarked, black hair), stand, a clip on mic+external phantom power. Can deliver it at buyers expenses up to 2h driving from Rotherham. Would consider a fender P bass as p.ex up to £600 Thanks for reading.

I used to play acoustic guitar in a band, decades ago. The best thing I bought was a dedicated acoustic guitar amp, the difference it made to my/our sound was amazing and it wasn’t expensive, a Carlsboro Sherwood IIRC. Used as normal backline, I didn’t need to worry about feedback, with it being behind me and, raised up, it was a great monitor. Something like this might be just the job, especially as it has a DI out (1/4” jack though 🤔). https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/171019315741004--laney-la30d-combo-acoustic-amp

LFSys and Barefaced Questions - Super Compact, Monaco and Monza?
Linus27 replied to Linus27's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thank you @cetera @stevie and @eude for the super helpful replies. From what you say, the Monza will probably be my best bet as I really don't need a lot of volume and I do like portability. My band is a singer playing acoustic, drummer with brushes and myself on fretless so not loud. For some of the smaller gigs, I even use my Warwick Gnome 300 through an 8ohms TC Electronic 208 which gives me a tone closer to what I'm after, it's just the occasional larger gigs I'd take the MB LM and BF Two10. What's more important to me is clarity, depth, richness and I guess fullness. My tone and playing is very much in the vein of Pino or John Giblin rather than a loud rock bassist or a funky bassist. If anything, closer to Jazz so articulate but certainly not nasal sounding like Jaco. Warm, rich, punchy and clean. Sounds like a Monza is on the cards in the new year. Despite Monaco being my favourite F1 race, I proposed to my wife on the grid at the 2006 Monza F1 race so I guess it make sense to go for the Monza 😄 Thanks for the advice everyone. -
Its always gone on. Sponsorship, not necessarily signature instruments, that's a more recent phenomena with mass production making it simple to do a run of 1000 instruments all exactly the same. Certainly bands sponsored by strings companies, some BassChatters have got free strings for tours etc. I imagine Paul McCartney got given a fair few basses.

Have any of you GP-5 owners been able to record some of the fx and amp and cab sims to give us a sense of how decent the GP-5 is as a multi-fx?

So after 3 months of waiting it’s arrived, I custom ordered a Precision Bass by Luca at Alnus Basses. (Insert joke about name here) There wasn’t an awful lot of information about them on the web, so set about tracking down owners across social media outlets, general consensus was he made lovely basses. I’ve always wanted a lime green metallic P Bass but Fender custom shop prices were out of reach for me especially when buying blind. I contacted Luca and gave him the specs I wanted and went through step by step with him in regard to colour shades/pickguard colours etc. I liked the fact he made the necks and bodies out of raw materials rather than pre made husks of the shelf, all paint/relicing and pickups were done in house and I liked the thought of a bass being built in a lovely Italian village (My family originates from Italy so this was a little piece of Italy). So for the result, it’s beautifully made and very resonant! The colour may not be to everyone’s tastes but I’m really happy with it, it needed a little setup to get it how I wanted it and it’s lovely. Just waiting for amp to warm up before plugging it in, if the pickup isn’t my bag I have a couple laying around including a Fender PV60 and Seymour Duncan Quarterpound. I will more than likely fit a badass 2 bridge to it aswell which I have spare.

The Pedaltrain Nano is the smallest Pedaltrain currently available and perfect for the absolutely bare essentials: a tuner, overdrive and delay. Even guitarists with bigger pedalboards can benefit from a Nano loaded with their most essential pedals so in a pinch you'll never be without your core tone shapers, even if you have to catch a plane to get to the gig! The soft case makes it very light and portable while offering protection to your pedals. Has served me well and is in good condition as is the case, moved up to a Templeaudio board hence reason for selling. Price includes postage

Rounds with a light overdrive works every time for me. Can't hurt to boost a little at around 200Hz either.

For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.
