  3. I’m still standing - Elton John
  4. I would honestly love to attend a workshop of his teaching his tricks of the trade
  5. I am his target audience, far fingered and mature, though normally only a certain select set of websites refer to me being "mature"... And those are now only available through a VPN. I recognise the signature touches here, the wonky tuners, the nut that's been cut with a bread knife and then recessed with his teeth, the partial scalloping of the neck edge. Every master has their little expressions that make the design unmistakably their own and he's hit the jackpot again. I can only sit back and look in wonder at what he has done. Truly we are mere mortals in the presence of a master. Rob
  6. Just be thankful he's only doing it to instruments, imagine if he ever watched the Human Centipede or read Frankenstein
  7. i tried it, and surprisingly found it quite easy, I think the string spacing on this pretty much mimics my 4 strings and so it was far easier than others 5’s that I have picked up and struggled on. That said, I’m still a 4 strings and player at heart, so it’s up for sale.
  8. This is the one. The blurb. The bass: It’s the bedrock of any performance, demanding nothing short of tonal excellence. Enter ReVolt Bass, a forward-thinking all-analog 3-channel Amp Sim primed to serve as the beating-heart of your rig. The latest-iteration of Two notes’ critically- acclaimed Amp Sim solutions has been engineered with a singular mission: to empower players with the ultimate in foundation tone. Forget any preconceptions of a run-of-the-mill amp-in-a-box, preamp or DI: ReVolt Bass stands-apart. It’s inspired by a trio of iconic tones; It’s fuelled by 200V and genuine tube power; It’s born to assimilate into a myriad of usage scenarios; it gives you edge when you need it, thanks to an integrated Drive Channel Dry/Wet Blend
  9. Laney RBH800, 300 watt, bought as a beater to leave at a rehearsal space, now surplus to requirements. Works perfectly. Collection or meet up reasonable distance from Norfolk/Suffolk border.

  10. final price drop before going back to the cupboard.
  11. I imagine someone who pulls the legs off spiders doing that to instruments.
  12. When someone says Yellowstone I immediately think of El Capitan, which rises majestically out of Tuolumne Meadows, a mere 811 miles and two states away in Yosemite. So here we have a bit of dub, perfect for watching the sunset from your Portaledge halfway up El Cap's most famous route, The Nose. Bass is Sandberg, guitar a Strat, keys - various from Ableton, Iris, Kontakt, Ujam and EZ keys. Drums programmed using Ableton packs and Loopmasters sounds. Delays/reverbs etc Raum, Objeq, Dubstation 2, Kilohearts plus Phasis phaser. All rolled in Neutron 3 and Ozone 9.
  13. I guess it’s not a lot different to private physio but the couple of times I’ve suffered a few sessions of acupuncture has sorted it out. The guy who does me is a guitarist himself and seems to understand the ‘issues’ we face so maybe that’s an extra help. Thoroughly recommend him if you are Bromley/Orpington way at all. Or I can ask if he’s aware of anyone in your neck of the woods.
  14. Next up for me is another Knock Off gig, supporting Therapy? at The 229 Club, London.
  15. Fat fingers? Mature student? He's got you covered https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/197472940211?itmmeta=01K2WAJMNT6J6PE3APQ928ZRH7&hash=item2dfa4df0b3:g:JLEAAOSwqWJoW98t
  16. Thank you - They're great ole reliable amps, but I'm finishing up with bass playing after 20 years, so this is my final amp. The 30 is a similar size to the Roland Cube 30, but can get much louder (if you need it to). £50 is buttons for something this solid.
  17. I’ve not suffered this specifically but about a month back my left wrist was hurting a bit so I raised the strap a bit and for about a week, playing or not I wore a wrist support which went over my thumb, and 2 thick wristbands.
  18. Hi everyone, I’ve got a lovely bit of tendinitis in my left wrist (my fretting hand). Not sure what’s caused it - I’ve not been playing loads recently and I don’t recall a specific moment of strain or trauma. My technique is decent and I don’t feel like I’m putting undue strain on the wrist. But hey, it is what it is - I just need to start working on recovery. Obviously, I’m keen to expedite the healing and recovery process and would love to hear from anyone here that’s coped with tendinitis. Any tips/tricks/exercises/miraculous healing stories most gratefully received! Ideally, I want to keep playing as much as is safely possible… I’m due to see an NHS physio at some point but obviously that can take a lot of time and I’m not sure I can afford any private clinics…so any collective wisdom you guys can offer would be very helpful. Thanks! Liam
  19. Looks like it might be user error. The Amazon page says "You can start charging via pressing the charging control button, and it indicates the battery level of the charging case".
  20. Today
  21. Lot of energy on that stage guys. You can just feel it. Amazing how double bass works so well in that style of band. Well done. Dave
  22. I was sure I'd seen something along the lines of a lightweight carbon fibre type stand somewhere. 'twas probably 'murkan, and no doubt would cost a pile to ship and import. This will do meantime. It's a pity it won't make my playing any better though
  23. We do Mamma Mia in the Glam band and its a nice wee song. No Matter What by Badfinger is an absolutely cracking song. Enough so that when i first heard it a few yrs back i bought the album based on that song and was not disappointed by them. Dave
  24. I just find a coffee lets me wind down a bit after driving at night. If you get to sleep within 20-30mins then caffeine hit doesn't affect you plus its decaf coffee i drink. Dave
  25. BTW, forgot to mention it's a short scale as I've had some asks. Folks are welcome to come try it with no obligation to buy.
