  2. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  4. We're having a cheeky bottle of red and there's hoisin duck coming. Reliving my 20s...Big Country, The Crossing. 5/5
  5. Blimey, that was incredible! Thank you for sharing.
  6. I know what you mean. I have encountered a lot of players who play 18 billion notes, hoping that one might fit.
  7. I dig it. Bass is very thick and present through speakers, but it's a bit of a roots-only bassline. I used to love Deftones when I was at school, until I heard "Back To School" ironically enough 😆 I've revisited them from time to time over the years. I still consider Chi to be probably THE bass player of any genre though. He was the instrument.

  10. My workmate brought this awkward record to listen to. What's this? Have to say I've liked his work since. He's a good example of playing only the right notes.
  11. Hi guys I purchased this brand new a few years back during Covid times. I ended up selling it after a year to another Bass chatter as I wasn't getting on with 5 string. Fast forward a couple of years later, and wanting to give 5 another shot, I managed to purchase it back a few months ago. For love no money I just cant get on with 5 strings after playing 25 years on 4 string, and my patience has worn (again!). Despite being able to play it, ill never feel fully comfortable so have decided to cave in and go back to a Fender Jazz. It really is a stunning bass, the neck is fantastic and it plays and sounds like a dream. Its still in mint / perfect condition, not a mark on it. This has a slightly smaller body and neck profile compared with the Stingray 5h/special. This is the real deal, not one of the cheaper versions. These are really hard to get hold of nowadays and rarely come up for sale. I'm now looking to get myself a Fender Jazz 4 string Elite or Ultra. Nothing else will be considered. This also comes with the official Musicman hardcase which is also in excellent condition. Price: £1500 Trade: Fender Jazz Elite or Ultra 4 string Based in Swindon but willing to meet up within reason. Cheers Freddie
  12. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
  13. Is he still still building instruments?
  14. Welcome back Jef.
  15. Wecome back!
  16. Sonic Cathedral is pretty much devoted to Shoegaze. Nathaniel Cramp runs it. He's been a shoegaze fan since college. He's one of oldest mates, known him since primary school. His Dad was my GP... sewed my top lip back on when I got bitten by a dog 😁... I digress.
  17. Ok this was for a project but I no longer need it. This is a brand new Allparts Jazz neck, never installed of used. Since purchasing I have added a Fender Logo supplied by Rothko & Frost and a bone nut. The frets have been dressed, fretboard oiled and it's in beautiful condition. David Wilson then completely finished the neck in lacquer with a lovely tint on the face, his work is outstanding. In total this neck owes me about £600 ish so offering it out at £500 including UK delivery.

  20. After a period of flux, the board settled into form again … some refinements and focus. First blood for this set up in studio last week, ‘ampless’ and full wet Hmmm …
  21. Hi everyone, I used to be on this site a long long time ago, but haven't been here since I had to stop playing and sold my basses. Back again, this time with the support (or push) from my nine year old daughter who is hitting the drums (a bit like Animal). I just got myself a Fender JB (LH) and my Peterson bass head is having a check-up.
  22. towbar and trailer .......... sorted. 😂 Dave
  23. Hi, so is this an AVRI? Cheers
  24. Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!
  25. Three gigs with three different bands Fri, Sat & Sun for me. i think I played over one hundred different songs over the three days, surprisingly there were only a couple that were in all three bands setlists. on Saturday, someone spilled a drink over an extension lead which took out the power!
  26. I don't think you'd get a Double Bass in the boot... actually, I doubt you'd get a single Bass in there!
  27. I bought a Mayones bass from Simon. He was a lovely and trustworthy guy!! Thanks !!
