  4. Today
  5. Lovely, if I didn’t already have one I’d be checking my wallet
  6. I can't "try before I buy". Not a lot of $$$ and seemingly in VGC, but I've never played one so... Pros ? Cons ? General impressions ? I went through a lot of TE stuff during the '80s and '90s but never sampled their valve offerings and am curious. Thanks in advance for any wisdom that you may be willing to share.
  7. I've owned several Peavey basses (T-40, second generation Dyna 5, modded Patriot...probably forgetting something) and while I found the build quality impressive never came across one which really spoke to me. I'd still be interested in trying out a TL5 and a couple of other higher-end models, though.
  8. I've had to adjust my truss rod at gigs more than once, although only once halfway through when I realised that there was a slight backbow - however, it's easy with Sei headlesses.
  9. Maybe with compensation from folk buying non-American products instead.
  10. That Palladium bass is another lost classic. Two passive humbuckers and a supremely playable neck. I remember reading an interview with Geddy Lee and him mentioning that Jeff Berlin had gifted him one (I was going to say "had given him one" but thought better of it...) and was very impressed.
  11. I have one on the way... loved my old Khan DI and somebody already posted some samples and it impressed me enough to want to hear it in person. Interested to compare to my Noble! Wondering if something like a Linden EQ in front of it will get very close indeed.
  12. The basses look great! Can any of you excellent Sei owners give me a steer on what they cost new these days, ball park?
  13. Alters the behaviour of a component in the signal chain, but as that component is general purpose then probably T2.
  14. I think that pic was on my other current thread. I don't remember removing it . Here's another AI pic Daryl
  15. I think that's great for those who are not in this for the money. I can't afford to play the music I'm interested in . If We did we'd get no bookings. Daryl
  16. TBH, I think it would have been the seller who was responsible for counting the number of strings and the "AI" just came up with the text afterwards.
  17. Wow, I remember being a postgraduate student sitting in my crappy apartment reading that very article. I used read every issue of Bass Player Magazine over and over, so much that I can pretty much still remember everything in them now. Such an idiosyncratic design is bound to divide opinion and have it's own quirks, but all I can say is I wish I had one.
  18. That's some pretty impressive niche knowledge mate. I do remember the name Yip Yip Coyote, but must've erased that song from memory. Where on earth does a band go after that song?
  19. Hello Olaf , is the bass still available by any chance? thanks
  20. Given the announcement from a couple of days ago, I don't imagine this will be the last of such announcements from a wide variety of businesses. It's crap for Harley Benton, because once the existing stock is gone, it'll cost the US buyers to order from Thomann probably about as much as it would to buy other cheap brands from the US. I guess US sales will drop off precipitously for Harley Benton once existing stock has been sold off. Mark
  21. Yes the Adagios do seem to come up often as good affordable flats. Another one on my list to try 🙂
  22. Another sign of the times I guess. Tariffs are mentioned. Remember the politics guidelines we have. https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2026/01/17/harley-benton-to-close-u-s-reverb-store-ending-direct-u-s-distribution/
  23. my fault, I should’ve put a link….. https://www.frtlzr.com
  24. I'm not knocking the price as I understand the costs involved having designed and built transformers before (priced G.O.S.S. steel lately, and minimum order quantities?), I'm just not able to spend that much on 2 of them. Hope you sell enough on your basses and as free units to make it a worthwhile project for you.
  25. Yesterday
  26. This one was my favourite of the US basses. Patriot, cheapest model they ever made 🙂 Really enjoyed the simplicity of it, set me down the path of single coil P-basses 👍
