  2. The ^2 notation is nothing to do with imperial or metric but is a computer way of describing something to the power 2. So x^2 means x squared or x x x (which is really confusing) as we sometimes use x to mean times. We could also say x * x. Many computer languages use the ^ symbol as the notation for "to the power of" as you can't use a superscript as languages are based on the ASCII character set.
  3. Funnily, I'm telling myself that it would be great to sell my Casio AP-750 and buy a Roland LX-9 to be able to use Pianoteq 9 through an iPad with it and especially because this "new" Roland ticks all the boxes for me (having an USB TO HOST with audio plus MIDI both ways and an excellent amplification alongside the marvellous PHA-100 keybed with haptic feedback). I'm still thinking...
  4. Hi guys! Driving me mental sat in my studio - I’m trying to have a winter clean and make space. At this point, I feel like it’s taunting me hence why I’m letting it go for ridiculously cheap! full working order! located in Abergavenny, it can be in Newport if it’s closer to you. 07732763624 - gimme a whatsapp and Grab yourself a Christmas bargain!
  5. I'm not sure if what you have is the same as mine. It looks like the same case and set of lights but the programming may be different. Mine operates in1,2,3,4,6,7,12, and 24 channel modes depending upon whether you want individual control of one, two, three four or eight sections seperately. some modes give you access to the built in programs too. I also have a remote control. On the rear panel I can select the built in programs and adjust things like speed and sensitivity of the sound to light. Start off by finding the intensity controls for red green and blue, you can then at least control the colours and their intensity from the rear panel and via DMX if you choose. There should be a 3 channel mode which does this.
  6. I looked into this recently and I couldn’t find anything ‘free’. Any with a free trial still needed a credit card number and I’m too sceptical to do that. I ended up using copilot to make some images (typed in the lyrics and went through a lot of questions as to ‘what I wanted it to look like’) and used a vid edit program to stitch them together… Happy with the results, especially as none of the people involved had time to be in it 😂.
  7. Something seasonal - the complete Reginald Veal bass part for the tune 'Winter Wonderland' from the 1989 Wynton Marsalis album, 'Crescent City Christmas Card'. For me, this is the best Christmas album ever recorded. Steeped in New Orleans traditions, it manages to avoid that crass saccharin sweetness that most Christmas albums have. This record is brimming with Joy but remains classy and profound. Veal is such a deep player; he can do no wrong by me. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/winter-wonderland-wynton-marsalis/
  8. You can get a service where you would only pay a few quid for a video, but it would take probably a few iterations to get it how you want, so it might be better getting a subscription. This is assumign you wanted to animate the photos and make an AI video, unless you just meant one of those videos where you just have the pictures fading into each other that any photo service should be able to do free
  9. Hello binky_bass, Time constraints, simple..it's a short video I need to create from photos , and add my written sing to it.
  10. I'm heading to Walsall/Burntwood then heading on to Nottingham this Tuesday/Wednesday. If anyone is interested I can take the bass with me...
  11. I know, doesn't it just. All Stanley is remembered for, tho he's done lots more. It is indeed a bit samey. The other tracks on nightfall are good too tho, I like the fifth of Beethoven ( Ornette Coleman?) and will be looking out more of Herr Ilg.

  13. Ah yes, I can see what happened here. I sold some tuners to Quent, my name is also Ash (although I use the Von Braun moniker for BC) and he left feedback here and I responded, being the polite chap I am. Bit of a comedy of errors! 😁 Hope you are keeping well Ash, I sold you my blue '94 Sterling back in '22, good luck with the one you have up at present, very pretty!
  14. Saw him live alone with his guitars and fabulous tapping technique, but after 30 minutes, it became really boring...
  15. God....one of the worst amps I ever owned and I think you are right about the flanger. I thought I had forgotten about it. I seem to remember a completely non functional graphic as well.
  16. Small, articulate Bass Cab in excellent condition complete with a Roqsolid cover which is also in excellent condition and worth over £90 alone. Dual Speakon / 1/4” Jack input & link. The OR-110 is a front-ported lightweight 1 x 10” cab with a custom designed Ashdown speaker – making the perfect companion for the OriginAL Head or extension for the OR-C112 combo to achieve the maximum output from the 300-watt power section. The cabinet is constructed using premium grade far eastern ply and is wadded to retain specific frequencies. The fine-tuned reflex port allows for more air to be moved, giving the little cab a surprising volume. Rated at 150 watts at 8 ohms, the OR-110 is one of the most portable cabs on the market. Adding further convenience, there is a top mounted grab handle positioned to offset the weight of the speaker magnet for ease of transport. For those pub gigs, pairing two of the OR-110 cabs provides enough volume to keep up with most drummers without having to DI through the PA. Otherwise – one OR-110 cab alone sits very well as a personal stage monitor, when using the OriginAL Head’s on-board DI to feed the front of house PA. Ashdown have focused their product offering over the past few years, delivering some really inspiring products focused towards the needs of the modern bass player. The OR-110 is no exception to the rule, building on the success of the OriginAL Range and adding something of real value to bass players delivering everything you need from a compact rig solution. The OR-110 Specifications are as follows: H:360mm 14.1” W: 390mm 15.3” 😧 360mm 14.1” Weight: 10.7KG (23.5lbs) Power: 150w Impedance: 8Ohms .Collection from North Staffordshire preferred as l do not have a suitable box at present.
  17. I've gone and done it and bought a Viscount Legend One 73 and after day of use I'm really impressed with it. It feels excellent to play and almost every preset sounds more than just usable - they sound great. Editing is all relatively intuitive (haven't needed to open the manual, which is always a good sign). It feels like a solid premium bit of kit (apart from the knobs all having a bit of sideways give - I assume that's intentional though), it feels like something that'll still be working and relevant in 20 years. Lots of connectivity (disappointingly no option of audio out via USB though). Playing this vs other keyboards I've owned (MPC Keys, CK-61, P45, ES-60) is a bit like the difference between watching a film on a phone vs cinema: its difficult to explain as you still basically get the same thing but it's an all together better experience. My main negative is: Spot the display.... it's tricky!. You know how just about every other stage keyboard has a decent sized screen and main controller in the middle?... Well, it turns out that's for good reason! A piddly little screen over to one side is difficult to see and doesn't show enough info (it needs to provide a lot on drawbar positions, 4x mixed sound levels, split zones, dual keyboards, fx types and levels etc. but only limited stuff can be shown without menu diving and what level of info is displayed is often difficult to read), and you need to use your right hand to make changes, whereas positionef in the middle would give option of whatever hand is free. Another small annoyance is constantly flashing lights for fx zones to tell you the fx is on if you're viewing the others zones e.g if you're on master view then fx 1 & 2 buttons flash to tell you those fx are on (or not if they're off) ... I know I've set the fx for my synth to have an amp on, I don't need flashing lights to constantly remind me (even when the synth is turned off). It's like Homer Simpson's 'everything's okay alarm' . Anyway, other than those small gripes I do think it's great and am really pleased with it. Time will tell, but I think I'll keep it and be happy with it for many years. Now for the ever so slightly trickier part - getting good at playing it! Lessons booked from January.
  18. I don't think there are any... most 'free' ones are limited to 6-10 seconds due to how ridiculously compute intensive it is to create an AI video from images. I'd also raise the question (my personal opinion) of the point of doing so? Why have your original music that YOU created superceded in people's memory by a video AI created? Don't diminish your work by tarnishing it with AI.
  19. Lovely looking bass chadu25, especially in that ice blue colour. Where did you get the replacement mint pick guard if you don't mind me asking?
  20. As you can see, I’m a fan too. Handles my active and passive basses well.
  21. Greetings everyone, I would like to create a shirt 1.5 mins music videos song is done. I'm looking for a free AI app where I can upload photos that then converts it onto a video. Any suggestions please, something that works and is decent (ISH)? Thank you

  23. My 3rd ever amp was an Ohm GA140 combo. It replaced an HH Bass Baby combo and sounded much better.
  24. For an ancient like me who learnt imperial in 1953 and moved on to metric in the 1970's, what does the ^2 mean? Metric numbers and volumes etc are OK, but these weird "new maths expressions" are just confusing. They look like a change for the sake of change!
