I'm doing a repair which is also a downgrade, can I have that as a credit? The Eminence Deltalite in my homebuilt cab packed up last night (it only gets used for open mics). A replacement would be £140 or so (and I now have no confidence whatsoever in Eminence Made in USA rubbish), so I'm getting a BishopSound BSP10 for £40.

Sorry but not under these rules. Selling to purchase is just funding the shiny new toys. Now if you were to start a separate "Buy and sell what you like but keep the net spend to zero" thread, that might be entertaining. You could have a totally over-complicated scoring system; the person closed to zero wins outright but after that the maximum standard deviation about that point gets points as does the most lopsided curve, etc etc. There is bound to be a statistician somewhere on the forum. 😉

An old Chaka Khan tune that has a fantastic (synth) bass part and still appears on set lists. It's in Eb minor, so I've also made an adapted version for those who don't have more than four strings: Chaka Khan - 'Ain't Nobody' transcription

Korg Pitchblack PB-01 Tuner. Simple, solid pedal tuner, great with bass, pretty well known, so I don't need me to go on and on about it. Near mint condition, with box and instructions, only a little residue on the bottom from velcro which I; have removed, which I expect will clean off nicely with a bit of elbow grease. Full info here >> https://www.korg.com/uk/products/tuners/pitchblack/ Moving on as my wife bought me a new tuner for Xmas. Looking for £30 plus postage, UK only. Any questions, just shout. Cheers, Eude

They're rubbish!! or maybe you just don't like them

But at least that is a feasible repair. With a barrel jack, you'd either have to send in a trained ant with a little bit of wire wool or just replace it, preferably with a more expensive one which will almost last proportionately longer. -

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

OK, they're either there to cover routing or to try to make it look like your bass was made on the cheap by pretending they're covering routing. They're still an affront to, well, everything. -

Didn’t see this thread before but it’s great to hear about all your goals. Good luck with them all! I want to make a jazz trio happen this year - I’ve got a good pianist lined up, who I also get on well with, but no leads on any half decent (but not so decent that they’re fully occupied doing paid gigs) drummers. I’ve heard you can sometimes find one under a big pile of hen’s teeth.

Belatedly joining this at least for Tier 1. Can you do a sort of carbon offset deal where you get credit for selling bass gear? Thinking something like selling two basses gives you a pass on one bass purchase? Asking for a friend.

What new gear should be produced?

They did an unlined fretless P a long time ago - I had one (ash or maple body, rosewood fingerboard) in the early 80s which would probably have been a 70s build. Bloody heavy too. -

I imported this from Slinger in the USA a few years ago as I had a rotator cuff injury and found playing very painful. A hiatus from gigging and a boat load of physio got me match-fit again, so I never got a chance to use this contraption in anger. A very novel idea for anyone suffering from shoulder/back pain whilst playing, as the weight of the bass is supported centrally by your core muscles rather than your (in my case) noodle arm. I seem to rememebr it was the best part of £60 after shipping/VAT/Duty etc. I'm after £30 collected from Margate or I can pop it in the post. Photos of the actual item to follow this evening.

Yes my V10 is quite heavy too. Neck dive is also a bit of a problem. I am going to order an Ibanez headless fretless. I had a six string multi scale and that was superbly balanced and very light, not the best sounding bass ever, but good enough for when I am in too much pain to hold a heavy bass. I only sold it to bring sone cash in when I bought my Nathan East Yamaha. All my guitar/bass tools and spares are in a toolbox tucked away behind the sub somewhere. My 5 yo son often used to go through the box asking what each thing was. Pots and micrometers are his favourite, oh and spare amp valves (not near the sub), but when has the valves out i get fed up of saying careful and GENTLY!!!!!

Theyve apparently just sold out of their first batch.... I'm going to assume it was a rather small batch, but still. Anything that fella touches turns to gold.
