D'Addario chromes, flatwound ECB81-5 string set. Cut for 34" four over one. Been on 20 mins. Another expensive exercise. After paying £72 for LaBellas, I thought these are worth a go for £59 Not for me. Put them on, plugged it in, played the intro to Midnight at the Oasis, took them off. 2mm of silk removed from the B and E due to saddle position but sealed with a dab of super glue to stop any unwinding. £35 inc postage to mainland UK

The blend knob is an essential. Having 50% P and 50% MM is surprisingly different to either on their own and gives a very nice rounded sound.

Fender won't be using shopify, but it is likely that G&L being much smaller were using it for their webstore, and if so it may have been reverted to default settings.

Now I have decided to go for the Faital Pro 12PR320, has that already been modelled? I am fully bought into Apple these days and WinISD only runs on Windows. There is an app for iPadOS called Speaker Box but the pro version that gives you a cabinet design, cutting plan and parts list is £7 a month!! That’s a lot of money to spend on an unknown quantity. Has anybody tried it and is it worth the cash? Sub-question is it friendly to those with very little knowledge of acoustics and speaker design?

The Geiger Counter is way more wild, as it’s basically a bitcrusher smashed into a super high gain distortion. The GC can do traditional SRR sounds etc, but that’s much easier on the pro. If you want classic SRR sounds, I’d go with the Frantabit. If you want more chaos and harsh industrial tones, I’d go GC. Overall, I think the GC Pro is one of my fav pedals of all time. It’s bonkers. Worth noting that the regular GC, however, does not have a mix (the pro does), and so a good portion of tones in the original will be lacking low end (as is normal for bitcrushing), with no option to blend the lows back in without a mixer pedal. With my playing this afternoon with the Super Frantabit, in degrade mode, the SSR is far more subtle than I remember it being (and more so than any other bitcrushers I own). I need to play with it more this week.

I expect so, although I've only used an Akai MIDI Mix with an MPC to basically add volume sliders to each track and for the knobs to control a couple of parameters for each track (that's quite good for stuff like live dub mixing - fading in different tracks and turning the knobs to do stuff like increase reverb). The 'Learn' MIDI feature does all the usual things like toggle and momentary so I expect it could turn on/off tracks or groups of tracks. https://support.akaipro.com/en/support/solutions/articles/69000858922-mpc-series-how-to-send-program-changes-with-a-midi-controller

Oakwood started following Harley Benton Upright Electric Bass DB01-BK

I am selling my Harley Benton DB01-BK upright electric bass which was purchased from Thomann in Germany in January of this year. This was my first bass purchase but ultimately I wanted to move on to an acoustic double bass which I have now done. Hence this bass has had very little use and is in excellent condition. Playing this electric bass has been great fun with the added benefit being that it can be used with headphones and also is very easy to carry around. Here is a summary of the features:- Body made of Paulownia Fingerboard made of birch (betula albosinensis to be precise) Maple neck Body support Height adjustable bridge Tone and volume knobs Headphone connector Internal pick up system plugs straight into amplifier Adjustable end pin Soft gig bag and bow The item can be purchased new from Thomann for £500. I am selling this one for £300. Buyer to collect from Tenterden, Kent. Any questions, please let me know. Many thanks.

Boss mt2 metal zone. I’m using it as a preamp I love the eq. It sounds good with the drive turned down. i’m looking at their new PX1 multi effect next. An emulation of all their vintage petals. I might enjoy SY1 more w bass

I owned a first run of Frantabit, but later sold it on when I was in dire need of cash. Other crushers I owned and sold: an old huge Bugbrand Bug Crusher, WMD Geiger Counter and the Civilian Issue version. I currently own: Super Frantabit WMD Geiger Counter Pro Red Panda Bitmap 2 Frederick/Bugbrand Bug Crusher Dr Scientist BitQuest The most versatile is the Bitmap 2 IMO. The Geiger Counter Pro is incredible if you want to mix distortion and other sonic chaos in. The Frederick Bugcrusher is a great way to get no-frills sample rate reduction though as long as you don’t want expression control etc.

This is a very good quality plate, made by Fatboy Guitars Ltd. in Newport England, probably about 20 years ago. I have had it in a drawer for years and never even removed the plastic film so it is in new unmarked condition. The colour is a very pale mint green to my eyes which is not captured in the photos. Price includes UK postage.

Could that be done using MIDI program changes or controlled via running the project itself? This seems to be a problem for almost all hardware solutions that I might want to use in a live situation. So far I've not come across anything that does the job as painlessly or quickly as a Mac running Logic and Keyboard Maestro. I have an AirTurn with two footswitches, one which starts/pauses Logic and the other which runs a Keyboard Maestro macro which closes the current Logic project switches to the Finder scrolls down one file and opens that. This process takes less than 5 seconds even on an ancient 2012 MacBook Pro. All I have to do is add a number to beginning of each Logic file in order I want to have the songs in the set and I'm ready to go.
