Satan's Trampoline - Lawnmower Deth

I've only ever played one Rick, and it was... ok. Wasn't awful, but didn't blow my hair back either. Looked nice. But it never sparked a desire in me to ever own one.
-
They aren't all bad. There is one particular Rickenbacker that I know of which is a truly fabulous instrument, sounds great and is an absolute joy to play. However the owner has made it clear that she will never part with it, despite growing arthritis in both hands, due to its sentimental value.
-
In truth, not as bad as I feared. For a first attempt we deliberately used far more glue than we probably needed, because my main concern was having the whole kludge fall apart the first time I took it out of my ears. Next time, we'll be a lot neater.
-
I wish you good fortune on your downsizing quest.
-
Only if they then burn it (or beat a guitarist to death with it, and then burn it) so no one else is ever afflicted with the agricultural object
-
...although if anyone gets rid of a Rickenbacker surely we should be encouraging them for having done something virtuous and thus give them some leeway 😀?
-
Well, I’ll join under the existing rules then. My ambition is to get down to 5 basses, which requires selling off 3. I sold a couple last year, so I feel I am on a roll. Also sold a BF cab and an amp. Loads more stuff to go to get down to what I actually use. 🥴

Same. Tort looks great, when it looks great. Sunburst, black, white. They're pretty much the only finishes that work IMO. It's like wearing tan leather loafers with a tracksuit, both of which are sensible fashion choices in the right circumstances but those circumstances should never align. -

She's Daisy Pepper. I think she started an online presence for a college course and is now a session bassist. There is a looper on it. It says "LOOP" on the front as a hint 😅

I know it's irrational and it's all down to personal taste and I know I'm the d!CK here but this is s safe space right? Custom colour fender basses should have white/mint guards , look in the books , nearly all white guards , why oh why do people put tort on them, sunburst, yeah tort of course, Olympic white beautiful, fiesta red OK I'll let it pass there is the odd one (although more than likely a sunburst bass refinished by the distributor like selmer or kitchens to order when new) but Daphne Blue , all wrong . Shoreline gold, I feel sick Apart from looking all wrong the celluloid tort is really hard to replicate unless you drop a fortune on a spitfire, why oh why do fender put awful cheap looking tort guards on custom shop custom colour basses , with an aged mint guard you'd have to get close to tell it wasn't the real thing with a tort one it catches my eye a mile off Sorry everyone! -
I'm doing a repair which is also a downgrade, can I have that as a credit? The Eminence Deltalite in my homebuilt cab packed up last night (it only gets used for open mics). A replacement would be £140 or so (and I now have no confidence whatsoever in Eminence Made in USA rubbish), so I'm getting a BishopSound BSP10 for £40.

Sorry but not under these rules. Selling to purchase is just funding the shiny new toys. Now if you were to start a separate "Buy and sell what you like but keep the net spend to zero" thread, that might be entertaining. You could have a totally over-complicated scoring system; the person closed to zero wins outright but after that the maximum standard deviation about that point gets points as does the most lopsided curve, etc etc. There is bound to be a statistician somewhere on the forum. 😉

An old Chaka Khan tune that has a fantastic (synth) bass part and still appears on set lists. It's in Eb minor, so I've also made an adapted version for those who don't have more than four strings: Chaka Khan - 'Ain't Nobody' transcription

Korg Pitchblack PB-01 Tuner. Simple, solid pedal tuner, great with bass, pretty well known, so I don't need me to go on and on about it. Near mint condition, with box and instructions, only a little residue on the bottom from velcro which I; have removed, which I expect will clean off nicely with a bit of elbow grease. Full info here >> https://www.korg.com/uk/products/tuners/pitchblack/ Moving on as my wife bought me a new tuner for Xmas. Looking for £30 plus postage, UK only. Any questions, just shout. Cheers, Eude

They're rubbish!! or maybe you just don't like them

But at least that is a feasible repair. With a barrel jack, you'd either have to send in a trained ant with a little bit of wire wool or just replace it, preferably with a more expensive one which will almost last proportionately longer. -

OK, they're either there to cover routing or to try to make it look like your bass was made on the cheap by pretending they're covering routing. They're still an affront to, well, everything. -

Didn’t see this thread before but it’s great to hear about all your goals. Good luck with them all! I want to make a jazz trio happen this year - I’ve got a good pianist lined up, who I also get on well with, but no leads on any half decent (but not so decent that they’re fully occupied doing paid gigs) drummers. I’ve heard you can sometimes find one under a big pile of hen’s teeth.
