  2. An absolute bargain to be had by someone here - I bought this very recently off another Basschatter and so I am just selling it for what I paid but I could easily have added £100 to the price and it would still have been worth it I think. These have legendary status, and justifiably so! It’s a 3 channel EQ with parametric mids, a bright switch, a colour switch and also a knob to control the amount of colour (essentially a very sweet tube OD) there is also a boost mode but I haven’t really used it. There’s 1/4 out and also DI out, it does a beautiful clean sound - so fat and warm with amazing clarity, and in colour ‘mode’ you can have as much or little of the saturation as you want to dial in. If you already know what this is I don’t have to sell it to you - if you don’t then give them a Google and have a look at TalkBass etc and you’ll see how highly regarded they are. I wish I could keep it but I’m skint and having a bit of a cull! Comes with two brand new spare tubes too! Grab an absolute bargain - £55 shipped!
  3. For sale is my IK Amplitube Tonex Pedal - this is the full version which includes the Tonex Max software. This has amp & cab captures (rather than models) of very high quality, and there is access to thousands of user generated captures via Tone.net, Also recently there is a new “bass edition” pack out which came out with the mini Tonex one pedal which is available to purchase separately for this model This is a super high quality amp capture pedal - there thousand of different amps with all different types of gain stage, it also has modulation, compresser and tuner as well. This cost £399 new - this is a bargain at £130 shipped - it will come with new product codes from IK Multimedia to register it as a new pedal, and it’ll be all de-registered at my end Pedal is in good condition, it’s had some gigs but no dents or cracks - runs off any 9v power supply, only issue is I’ve lost/used the box! I have sleeve from the outside of the box which I’ll send, but I don’t have the physical box (it was plain anyway I think, with the sleeve around it having all the writing etc on) I have factored this into the price. It’s a really great bit of gear that I’m not using much as I’ve slimmed my main board right down, and it’s the time of year where finances start to bite a bit, so as always I’m letting It go to a Basschatter for a very good price I think - you won’t get much better in terms of capture quality and if you’ve always been on the fence about giving Tonex a go, this is the perfect chance without forking 400 notes out! Price is £130 shipped

    Sire P7

Sire P7 Antique White. These basses are great value for the money with features you'd expect from a much more expensive basses. The previous owner replaced the original knobs with chunkier versions and lightly sanded the neck so it now has a nice satin feel to it. Collection preferred but I could possibly source some packing materials if you're prepared to arrange your own courier.

  5. I definitely agree re the logo being something put on later. Ibanez logos from that era are sort of weird curly lettering, rather than the late 80s version onward which you've got. It may well be something other than Ibanez. Hard to gauge from those pics - there were a lot of very budget MIJ basses as well as the more legendary ones. As it stands only the neckplate refers to Japan in anyway. Would be handy to see the machine heands, and if there's anything on the pickups or pots which might give its origin away. Glad it sounds cool whatever it may be!
  6. Dirty Roses rehearsal, the first in a while - this was to run over the Christmas songs for the December gigs. Slade, Santa Claus is coming to town (Springsteen), Rockin' around the Christmas tree (Brenda Lee), Last Christmas (Whamageddon). All went well. We had a chat at the end, and it turned out it was the happiest the singer and drummer had been in a band (and the longest). We're also not certain about what to do following my impending hip replacement at the end of March - I'm perfectly happy with them getting a dep in but I also do the PA so they probably won't bother, just take April and possibly May out.
  7. Line 6 Pod Express Bass Pedal No velcro on the bottom, only used a handful of times. Great little unit with some very useable effects and preamps. Has a built in tuner and can be used for home practice with the headphone out facility. Excellent condition. No PSU or USB cable.
  8. OTOH, barrel jack sockets are the work of Satan and should be viewed as consumables.
  9. I would say it's being truthful rather than ignorant. And bully for you. I don't know the presenter of the second episode, and based on that episode, I have absolutely no desire to ever hear any more of her playing or that of any bands that she's been in. I suppose I should try to remember her name so I can avoid her.
  10. Bird Stealing Bread — Iron & Wine
  11. I managed to keep the frames to the castors but transplant in new wheels and axles on my 8x10. I just needed new 75mm wheels, this way getting the hole centres right for the castor plate didn't matter.
  12. Up for sale - an Electro Harmonix 24v Bass MicroSynth. Full of analog goodness. Not just good - good for you!! If you're looking at this, you know what it does. Definitely leagues better sounding, and feeling, than the smaller 9V versions. Hard to put a price on this - some insane £900+ prices on eBay. Quite a few in the £600-800 range. I think £325 plus postage is more sensible.

  15. I used a jugsaw with a metal blade. Was a nightmare as you can probaly see. Problem is you need to cut through two sides at once.

  17. For sale is my Master Effects Super 800+ Preamp/DI, it comes in the original box and is in ‘as new’ condition. These are handmade in Canada and can only be bought directly from Master Effects, I paid £210 for the pedal, £55 delivery and about £50 in duties/fees etc so you’re looking at over £300 to go and get on along with a 3+ week wait. The pedal itself is in a very solid metal enclosure and the quality of it is excellent The preamp itself is an excellent recreation of the Gallien Kreuger GK800RB amp, it has a 4 band EQ, gain, master volume and 3 contour switches - low cut (this is mainly used when going to the very high gain settings sith the boost engaged to get the “Rails” tone - allows you to go very high gain without the bass frequencies being overwhelming) mid contour (mid scoop with slight boost of lows & highs) which is a very nice funk/slap tone and high boost (boost of frequencies over 1khz adding ‘presence’ and definition). It runs off any normal 9v power supply - no special high output requirements or anything like that The boost function is a second gain stage which I think is after the preamp/eq - I think that’s what it is anyway! But what it does is basically recreates the famous “Rails” tone made famous in the 80’s & 90’s - you can dial in just a bit so you have a nice biting clean tone with a touch of hair to it so it cuts through the mix, all the way to HIGH gain which sound absolutely epic, and in conjunction with the low cut, isn’t ‘too much’ at all - it really does sound good I’ve had the original GK Plex preamp and a couple of others and this is far and away the best one of the lot, however needs must at this time of year, I’ve got things to buy and I’m using the GK amp sim on my stomp now and running a very small pedalboard on a nano+ and although it’s nowhere near as good as this, it does the job for now, and finances don’t allow me to keep unfortunately as I’ve got bills to pay and Xmas to sort! I am selling this for a very good price as I need a quick sale - this is an absolutely fantastic sounding preamp, genuinely A+ with the added boost function meaning you have the GK Rails flavoured OD on tap as well Price is £150 shipped! (This is less than half what it cost me to import it from Canada in October!) Grab a real bargain Video Demo👇(Demo is of the Super800, not the 800+ which I’m selling here - the sound is the same, but on the 800+ you have a footswitch for the ‘Boost’ function which is where you can get the famous ‘Rails’ tone)
  18. Using my extensive knowledge of vintage instruments I can tell you that the neck plate was made in Japan sometime before 2025.
  19. This is my office. Spot the pedalboard!
  20. Ibanez SR500 in Brown Mahogany. Lovely thin neck as you'd expect from an Ibby.. No major dings that I can see other than some buckle rash on the back. Currently strung with flats but can supply with round wounds if required. Currently offering with collection only but I could sell this in a brand new Ibanez MB300C fitted hardcase for an extra £90 if you were prepared to organise your own courier.

  21. Yamaha CK-61. £490 Excellent condition and perfect working order, with box and power supply. Collection from Chichester, or I'm in central London on Mondays. Or if you want it posted we can discuss options.
  22. Hometown gig in a converted church that I've played before, nicer onstage sound than previous times. A few mistakes but a well received generally enjoyable gig. I've used a Peavey vb2 810 fridge for my last 3 gigs, this one and the 2 previous tour supports we did. The fridge was purchased for the usual blue book £100 for a non Ampeg 810: it's the 3rd 8x10 I've owned and I maintain that despite science going in the opposite direction they can be a good, cheap viable solution for certain situations. Obviously it wouldn't have worked when I was doing pub / club covers and probably not ideal for everyone. When I found out the bookings we had this year I either had to get an additional 2x12 neo GK cab or go on a different tangent. I flogged the GK and bought the fridge for half of what I got for it...I can rethink things in the future if needed. Fair to say that the 810 with the GK head is like a 3.5 litre v8 ticking over and never gets shouty; the volume is at the volume of the drumkit ( I'm enjoying playing with a more energetic drummer after playing with a sedate one for a few years) and one guitarist plays big chords while the other plays a bass 6. So I need to really ground the music, giving an illusion of being an octave below the bass 6. The tilt and roll drill with the fridge is pretty workable too, I struggle more with 4x10s tbh. My first gig with LaBella flats. Not wild about them on their own but great in the band mix, really full and consistent. The higher tension seems to work well too, nice to play.
  23. I've been collecting and pedal-testing solidly since COVID but a lot's been happening this year and, as my priorities are changing, it's time to start letting some of these pedals go, including those that six months ago it would have been unthinkable selling. Up on the block are a couple of Doom 2s, one being the standard gain unit (in Cosmic Metallic (the purple one)) and a high gain unit (in Jade Sparkle)). Both units are from the limited runs of 100 in 2023 and are the latest spec. £360 each (including UK Royal Mail Special Delivery postage). Neither has been used on a pedalboard and they're basically mint in box. The Wicked theme was not intentional. I'm not really looking for trades at this point but there are a handful of pedals I'm curious about: COG T-70 v2; Hamstead Subspace GE, and Chase Bliss Spectre.
  24. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
