Band Mule: A calendar app for bands Anyone using it?
Phil Starr replied to Phil Starr's topic in General Discussion
I do hate google with a vengeance, I hate that it invades everything you do after any engagement with it at all and i don't consent to it using and sharing my data. I've used Timetree and it is such a poor piece of software. Really clunky and counter intuitive to use. I mean it works but finding out how to do anything complicated on it is a nightmare. Ive also used Doodle to gather in availabllity data and liked the simplicity, it's got a lot more sophisticated recently and moved to a paid model but I've recently discovered Rallly which does look and behave just like the older versions of Doodle. You send out a survey with a list of dates/times and people fill in their availability. It's great for booking rehearsals and identifying dates the band are available for gigs. The bit it doesn't do is generate an actual calendar the band can see. -
I'll probably go with BEADGCF tuning. I have a USA Custom Shop 8 string Conklin, an ACG 9 string and a Bee Bass 10 string (Binky), so I'm used to these oversized beasts! Scale length I believe is 35", spacing I think is 17mm.

One of my favourite flyrigs. I just don’t use it. Basically a boost, big muff, ampeg amp sim and a Boss OC2 clone. It’s the same octave circuit as the Sonicake Octaver and Valeton OC10 which if you’ve seen my octaver comparisons nail that OC2 tone. DI out and fx loop, honestly if it had a tuner it would be perfect. But it doesn’t and I cover most of my gigs with the Darkglass Element

Might be useful to say where you are.

How do you tune that smörgåsbord? What's the scale length and string spacing in the bridge? Congratulations on a fine bass!

A cautionary tale regarding Royal Mail
MrDinsdale replied to MrDinsdale's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, it was. I cant contest it because I know it arrived however I do want to find out more information on why they're refusing to reimburse the loss. I'll try and get in touch when I can. The whole thing was very stressful, thankfully the person I sold it to was really understanding. -

Was this via special delivery? I worked for Royal Mail customer services for a summer many years ago and only had one case where a special delivery item got tracked part way and then disappeared - they got a refund upto the insurance limit. Nowadays that is £750.

Because the Stomps balanced outs are only 1/4”, you’re likely connecting it to the Line In of a desk, which doesn’t receive Phantom Power. Even if you’re using a TS -> XLR cable, because the pins are not exactly the same, what the HX Stomp then receives in the way of phantom power isn’t damaging, although I’ve heard it ruins the tone/signal. All that to say that you’ll HEAR that PP is on before you do any damage. That said I’d always consider adding a DI box to a small Stomp pedalboard purely because then I’m not relying on finding/carrying a fairly specialist TS -> XLR cable and can simply rely on bog-standard XLR cables. So why not run the JDI after your Stomp, best of both worlds and great mini board! My backup setup for a while, need to replace the Stagebug at some point as it was on loan: Si
