Always thought these were 17.5mm? I've had 2 Ray35's.

I've ordered a section of hardwood rods in different diameters. I'll fine one slightly bigger, sand it a bit and plug the hole that way. In hindsight thinking about drilling the holes was a dumb idea for someone as cack handed as me with power tools. Thanks for all the help and useful suggestions. Rob

And now the strings have appeared which I have approved but they literally just showed up. Not sure why there was a delay. -

Thank you 🙏 -
Cheers, that's what I feared. I was going to call them tomorrow to see what the deal is anyway.

None were showing when I posted, as I checked the queue. A short strap was showing awaiting approval just now, which I have approved, but there are no others. -

Good work! -
Parody?

I agree. There is something about the bass where it sometimes works really well when you can't hear it as much as 'sense' it.

If your tools are accurate enough, you could drill bigger holes for metal inserts. Even then it may be a good idea to fill the holes with wood (maybe glue is not needed, if the inserts are wide enough to cover the old holes). But that requires good equipment, definitely something you cannot do with a hand tool.

I'm from Moog's legal department and you're nicked, sunshine.

My 32" scale AGH has "standard" length strings D'Addario EXL170BTs and they are absolutely fine.

Cowardly and underhand band politics...
theplumber replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
Was in a covers band a few years ago and after a few months of weekly practises we had only done 3 gigs...all unpaid! I suggested we all tried contacting local pubs to see if we could get some bookings. I phoned around a bit and after a couple of hours had managed to get bookings in 3 separate pubs. Next practise I turned up and gave the news to the band .One by one they knocked back the pubs saying...''too far away'' and ''shithole'' Ok I said, what have you got? As you can imagine they had nothing. So after a pretty tense practice we had a bit of a chat. I said that if we don't get gigs soon I am going to have to pack it in. They said they would have a meeting the next night when they had more time to chew things over. I decided then and there that I was not going to the meeting. Needless to say the very next morning when I open up our Facebook page I spotted that in the band line up it had been altered to Bass Player ?.........I contacted the singer next day and she said that I had ''Taken the fun out the band'' -
Arranged, yes. Jobim has never sounded like this. In your pages you wonder, which bass is he using. I don't have IG, but managed to see one of his solos there. He has a greenish Moollon 5, a Gary Willis Ibanez fretless (GWB1005?), and a J like bass. Amp seems to be an Aguilar. Whatever the bass is, his sound is pretty soft even with a fretted electric (something I like).
