  3. You may be watching the wrong programme. If you want your tat fixed, you have to go to Tattoo Fixers, where your 2cm x 4cm tattoo saying "BOB" (your ex-husband) will be transformed into a giant peacock covering your entire arm, or your rather unfunny tiny little picture of a man weeing somewhere a few centimetres north of your penis will be turned into a Cthulhu covering your entire torso. That is one programme where the punishment in no way fits the crime.
  4. I think we should take a helicopter view of this, preliminary to a deep dive. And don't forget to think outside the box while you're pushing the envelope. We must use synergy for organic growth.
  5. Thank you - I can't find a Bossa bass anywhere in the UK. I have another Bossa guitar that was Brian Monroney's (Tom Jones etc) and it's my #1 💛
  6. Where are the pitchforks and blazing torches? She's got a clip-on tuner on the headstock!
  7. I'm baffled by all the variants of EBMM, SBMM, Sterling, SUB, etc Rays. I'm currently at the cheap end with a <checks headstock> SUB series Sterling, made in Indonesia and presumably a Ray5. I'm sure somebody listed the various ranges and models a while ago but I haven't been able to find it. Would anybody be able to produce a definitive list of Rays past and present, with maybe some information on things like neck profiles, virtues, and vices? Pictures would be nice, preferably showing the headstock so it's simple to know what you're looking at when you spot one in the wild.
  8. We get the show here but most likely some months or years later.
  9. This is a well-rehearsed condition, although your personal circumstances may make it more challenging. We do have the Gear Abstinence thread for those trying to kick the habit, or at least contain it - in a non-judgmental way of course
  10. Riffing on the 'Weeds' theme : Pulled by the roots. Mark

  12. Still need to get some Velcro on the Greathammer and get it locked down but extremely happy with this setup. I’ve added an fx loop between The Accountant and the Element in case I want to add anything else like the Model FeT for guitars etc. TBH it’s a bit overkill so might take that out as it adds a bunch of extra wires and clutter. Other than that I can see myself keeping this setup for the foreseeable as long as I can resist the QCmini 😬

  14. Hold on...are you saying Customer Services Depts get their staff to give the best customer service by not paying them properly? 😅 Maybe a while before I can give both a proper spin as the juicy FI v4.5 software is not due out until March and, besides, I also may be about to return my FI unopened (see thread above). But hopefully at some point I can apply my polyphonic playing style (to quote @BigRedX's fabulous phrase) to both pedals and report back. Or maybe just try the MXR once and then move it on, which also seems to be quite fashionable these days. Either way @mattpbass is likely to get there before me with better synth technique and a more helpful comparison, I suspect!
  15. Inspiration from the off topic driving thread: "Impersonating Musicians" Or "Cracks in the Pavement"
  16. I bought it from a guy who bought it new and never used it. Where are you based?
  17. I’d go for the Xtender, they’re easy to fit and just work, much easier than tuning down/up.
  18. Any takers for a pink P Lionel? La Bella Deep Talkin, otherwise all standard. Ebony fretboard (dots are stickers). I'm thinking 1150 is about right.
  19. I mean in fairness, this isn't Bass Direct or similar, this is a big international store and I doubt the staff are paid anywhere near enough to care less about costing the company money in situations like this, easier life for them keeping the customer happy Did I pick up on you buying the used MXR Bass Synth too? I'd be very keen to hear a comparison between the two, largely from a sound quality and tracking perspective when it comes to the new comparable presets, when they arrive.
  20. It should be able to go 100% wet. What algorithm are you using?
  21. I received a very polite and supportive email from dv247 / MusicStore Customer Services today stating that they unfortunately couldn't backdate the discount, but encouraged me to return the first purchase, whilst making a second purchase using the discount promo code. No fuss, no angst and nicely customer focussed. As I mentioned previously, I've no desire to mess them around and I'll take a view on whether to take up their return and repurchase suggestion or just suck-up the original purchase price. Fwiw, their approach to returns has always been good and having had to make warranty claims previously on various bits of kit over the years, their warranty cover is one of the best I've come across.
  22. Nope - it'll be fine Once they're set up, and if the nut is slidey enough, the xtender should work as you hope it would. a sticky nut can cause it to not behave and you need to ensure the little adjustment screw on the xtender is set correctly Its dead easy to fit if you buy the correct type that corresponds to the bass's existing tuners. just take the string off the E tuner, unscrew and remove the tuner, fit the xtender using the screws that come with the xtender. A little dab of vaseline on the xtender goes a long way and keeps it working smoothly. Also if you don'r have a graphtec nut, some pencil graphite in the nut slot helps keep the string moving smoothly in the slot.
  23. Updated the board and just waiting on the arrival of the EHX Battalion to replace the Behringer
  24. Yes, I had to check that again. Looks like I posted a pic of the fretted version earlier. Fixed.
  25. The thread description says, for all you fretless lovers, yet the bass pictured is not a fretless. Thus the confusion and the need to explain 🙂
  26. Yeah, they were just customs, many many different finishes, but as you say, no actual signature model. Mark
