  1. Past hour
  2. Can't buy a thrill - Steely Dan
  3. You clearly haven't read many of my posts or my signature.... 😂🤣
  4. I do remember, and I am thinking of selling some basses, but that one isn't in the list, it is currently close to being my favourite, it has certainly done more gigs than any other single bass.
  5. I do find a bit of spatial widening makes can make quite a difference. Gives the instruments a bit more separation and clarity.
  6. I don't know who originally made it but I've had it a couple of years and added a Thunderbird neck. It's had a Rickenbacker 5 string pickup, so will need re-routing for another shape. Has a KiOgan wiring loom and the cavities have copper conductive tape. Paint job - not good - Halfords finest put on too quickly and not sanded down. Top is finished with a vinyl wrap (which doesn't hide the paint inconsistencies underneath). Great if you want that 'Rat' look.
  7. Remember, I'll have that 4004 back if you ever decide to sell. It's one of those big regrets having had to to sell it
  8. So recently I've discovered a guitar repairers very close to where i live that i never knew about!?! Paul Gatley - PSG Guitars - in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester. He has just done a very quick turnaround set up on my Rickenbacker and as i picked it up i left my P bass with him. Great knowledgeable guy, quick turnarounds and great work. I can definitely recommend
  9. They are very much in demand as far as I know although quite highly priced at the moment , what have you seen
  10. In excellent condition, velcro to the rear Peter The H24 is a steep high-pass filter pedal by Sine Effect Electronics. This filter pedal has an adjustable frequency of 30-400Hz, and a slope of 24dB/octave (4th-order). Certain components are matched by hand to ensure a steep curve. This pedal is ideal for electric bassists and guitarists who wish to tighten up their low-end. The pedal outputs unity gain and is designed to be low-noise. Features: 24dB/octave high-pass filtering True bypass Hand-matched components Specifications: Operating Voltage: 9-18V DC, centre-negative Current Draw: ~14mA Input/Output Impedance: 1 Megaohm/680 ohm Noise: <-100dB Dimensions: ~48x100x50mm (including sockets and knobs) Recovery gain: +3dB
  11. Tell us the brand. I'm guessing Fender. I lied about ending the inquisition clearly 😅
  12. If not sold before, maybe bring it along to the SW bass bash on 12 Oct down near Taunton (check it out in the events section). I'm sure there would be a lot of interest in it.
  13. The Gillet basses are fantastic being innovative, unique and very well made. I tested some early prototypes for Mike and gave him some feedback. I've always been on the lookout for an upright bass sound from a bass guitar and these came close. Being a long scale fretless player, I did not want to spend the time getting the intonation sorted for a shorter scale so I did not buy one! Probably also a bit of a niche market for them but this is a rare opportunity for someone, surely as there are not many Gillett basses out there?
  14. I've been asked for some more photos, so though I would post them here - much better resemblance of the true colour out in the sunshine!
  15. Yep - I repeatedly see people trying to sell replicas for "what it owes them", but that doesn't equate to what it's worth. It doesn't matter if it's subjectively "better than a real one", because it's not actually a real one. If you buy used, then it's likely to be a zero-cost item if/when you decide to move it on.
  16. Ok, so here's my contribution, given it a Halloween-ish twist, since it is October: Single track 1st take, played on my 28.6" scale 5 string Ibanez GSRM25 Mikro Bass, tuned to E standard tuning, recorded through my "amp-less" setup, directly into my Zoom H4n handheld recorder, only edited using a simple Wav editor.
  17. In very good condition, boxed and fully functional. Can be powered with a 9volt battery or a power supply. A PSU is also included in the sale as well as a Midi lead and a printed A4 manual. Please note photo shows 2 Midi leads in error, only one with the pedal - the longer one. Peter The Midi Moose is battery operable and provides a minimum of 200 hours usage. A cutting edge battery feature turns off the numerical display after 5 seconds in oder to conserve power. In the event that you forget which preset you were on, you can step on the individual patch LED that is still it, waking up the display to your previous display without making any changes. Specificiations MIDI I/O: Out Height: 1.5" Width: 17" Depth: 3.6"
  18. Has the bottom dropped out of the vintage guitar/Bass market?
  19. Loving this, big tune
  20. Lol! Would love to, but I don't have a wide enough lens or enough guitar stands.... 🤣
  21. Next question- do you have a photo of them all together? I’m sure it would be a spectacular sight.
  22. Assuming I get rid of the Lurgi, I am going to check out the venue on Wednesday first thing. I expect it will be fine, but if it only has a single 5A socket under the stage we would have a problem...
  23. A favourite brand for sure. Actual instrument.... probably not, I love so many of them....
  24. Out of 94 I have to ask if you have a favourite? The inquisition ends here I promise 👍
  25. My first reaction on reading that you had made an offer was 'oh no, I hope he didn't accept.' Think these kinds of sellers are the ones we just walk away from until they have a light bulb moment...assuming that happens at all.
  26. So, since getting the Tascam I've found I don't really have to do too much to it at all to get a good track out of it. Placement is the main thing. I use it in a reasonably small room with drums, bass, keys, 1x guitar and vox (with the vox and keys going through a PA in the room). Generally speaking, I keep it away from the drums, with mics pointing towards the PA speakers and on top of an amp. I've brought a tripod with me a couple of times, but haven't used it. Once I get the recording, I just normalise it and do some slight EQ tweaks in Reaper then convert it to MP3 and drop it on the band drive. It's all pretty easy and only takes 10mins. I'm sure there's more I could do to it, but I don't really find I need to for just sharing with the band.
