Well I've played some large gigs, to large crowds, all who have paid for tickets to see us. The bass amp will be provided (usually an Ampeg with an 8x10). we're treated very professionally by the stage crew and we're usually paid reasonably well. The audiences are usually, civilised, appreciative and receptive, which is good. I like those gigs a lot. On the other hand, I've played some fabulous gigs in, sweaty dives, to a drunken rabble, at 3 in the morning....... and I really liked those as well. I think the best gigs are the ones were the crowd is great, the band is rockin' and the onstage sound is excellent. You can't beat that.

That is very tasty indeed. Enjoy!

Playing a 30 min set with jamiroquai at a French Riviera or Amalfi Coast private pool party with unlimited food and drink included, and unlimited dips in the pool. I would probably do it for free but a hefty cheque would also be nice.

See what you think to this. I really liked it. Surprising control over the repeated harmonics at the beginning, too.

Cheers Phil. It has been a bit of a stressfull couple of days. I should have a Bugera VeyronM coming today. I might have been able to afford something a bit more if I'd got an instant refund on the Ashdown. Hopefully it'll be fine. They've got a decent reputation. When I've got a refund I might buy the DeltaBass, I'm quite taken with it. It looks pretty 😎 😁

Anyone bought a cheap (Chinese) neck off eBay?
Obrienp replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
I am so tempted to buy another Chinese neck of fleaBay but at the moment I can’t play due to bursitis in my left elbow, so I am putting it off to see if I recover. I turn 70 shortly so recovery is not a given: arthritis seems to be getting its claws into me. If/when I am ready to jump, it’s going to be a fretless jazz. Bizarrely these seem to sell for about £20 more than the fretted ones, so it would be somewhere around £110. Prior to the bursitis, I had been enjoying playing my Sire U5 fretless shortie and was wondering whether I could manage a full scale fretless but didn’t want to lash out on a new bass (like a Sire P7). I have a couple of bitsas I have put together, so one would provide the body. I have to say that putting these basses together is very addictive and with the quality of these “cheap” necks, it can be done for less than the price of a Squier Affinity but with much better hardware. Is this an addiction? -
Body all finished and waxed with Liberon Bison Wax.

The guitar features an original neck shape and Dinky-shaped body that the artist was particularly particular about, and the electric section is equipped with an Ultra Noiseless™ Vintage Jazz Bass® pickup and the latest preamp, inheriting the playability and sound quality of the previous model. In addition, a new feature not available in the previous model is the inclusion of a thin pickguard of approximately 1.0 mm sandwiched under the gold anodized pickguard of approximately 1.2 mm, which gives the same playing feel as a 3-ply pickguard while maintaining the same appearance.’ One of my Feedback links. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/137382-feedback-for-harry/#comment-1241408

It's going to be like that old gag - Jimmy Page's telecaster sold a lot of Les Pauls. This pedal is going to sell a huge amount of HXOnes.
