  1. Past hour
  2. There’s a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He’s Pelvis - Kirsty MacColl
  3. Agreed - I didnt' think it was a great looking wood for that, but certainly not something I thought about other than the first glance. I mean I prefer ebony because its black, then wenge as it has nice markings.
  4. So the string layout on the top photo is what you would expect, but then in the 2nd and 3rd, the top sets of strings are reversed (the 4th one you can't really see).
  5. This is an incredible phaser and there is probably a very, very small number in the UK and likely Europe!
  6. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
  7. These just appeared on one of the Burns Guitars Facebook pages along with the following explanation: Octave down 12 string which Hank saw when visiting the Burns factory. He took it with him and still has it. I believe it was converted to standard 12 string tuning. So this would have been Hanks first Burns.
  8. Many moons ago I ordered a brand new five string Mexican Fender Jazz which had a Pao Ferro fingerboard. They're okay, sound good and make the percussive frequencies warmer. The only downside that to my fingertips, the wood tended to feel almost 'furry'.
  9. Congratulations. It's a good way for Will to sell off slow selling basses - if there are enough entrants, the price of the bass is at least covered. Matt at High Peak Autos (You Tube Channel) previously had a side business that featured cars as prizes.
  10. Love this. Brian "goofing around" during the Pet Sounds sessions. Didn't even make the original album. I am a sucker for trombones farting out though 😄
  11. Young blues hopeful (well not so young now!) Connor Selby and band in New Milton. Featuring @SonnyBass95 on a Lakland Skyline 44-51 via EBS valve head - most tasteful! Catch this lot if you can.
  12. Thanks for this. Yes, they really are superb basses and, as you note, this is a bargain.
  13. Roll The Bones - Rush
  14. Today
  15. And I just had a trawl through my eBay history and found it on there. They come and go so quickly these days!
  16. Very well put together US-published book of in-depth interviews with guitarists based on a TV documentary. Refreshingly, not all are the usual suspects. Rarely seen here. 300 pages, very good condition. £13 posted UK. Now just £10
  17. For anyone who hasn’t heard this, it’s superb, good luck mickey
  18. Now you mention it, those bindings...I checked an old photo, mine was all black. Must have sold you one of your earlier ones! I'd echo @casapete's comments - these are great basses!
  19. This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.
  20. Deluxe edition - Played once, as new. Do You Get The Blues dates from 2001 - this is its anniversary reissue on CD with sleeve notes from the bluesmeister himself. Cameos by Lou Ann Barton and Double Trouble. £9 posted UK
  21. ‘Opus One (2012-2019)' is a 4CD boxset containing four albums from the 2000s from the legendary Canadian guitarist. All issued on indie labels, they are now hard to find. This clamshell box includes comments from Travers himself. Brand new and unplayed. £20 posted UK.

  22. Yeah I was always sceptical when I saw the competitions. Took a punt and won!
  23. Go for it!! Best of luck for the rest of the treatment
  24. From what I've been reading recently, there have been a few other members who have added them into their orders from thomann so I'm sure we'll find out before long. Who knows, they could become the Sue Ryder of bass strings 😄
  25. Your life would be so much richer if you stuck to four Owen 🤣 Or poorer, depending on which way you look at it
