    I've only ever used GEQ to notch out problem frequencies. Using the PEQ on each mic to tailor the sound of each chanel to sit in the mix. If the mics are pre-set to sit in the mix in a neutral (rehearsal) room then there still might be a small amount of tweaking on some mic chanels to reduce problem frequencies due to stage acoustics, especially if backline is being used and set too loudly.

    Merry Christmas one and all. I've been feeling out of sorts for a few days and today I've woken up with a sore throat, body aches, and fatigue, which are the symptoms for this year's Covid!!

    My Trace Elliot Elf cab is a nightmare. I've not really investigated why, just struggle with it. Maybe changing the socket is in order.

    As im now mainly a keys player, i got two bass multi FX for Christmas 🤣. I had asked for one or the other a while back, but as i got a GP-50 earlier this month i took them off my list. Now i have these two, a GP-5 and GP-50 🙄.

    Got my chrimbo present early this year, not bass related…some nice boots Did get some pennies towards a used Epiphone Sheraton though. So that’s close. suppose I should keep that a secret though as I’m doing more guitary stuff at the moment 🫣 Many Christmas x

    Yes that may be the way to go. I keep having to remind myself that this bass is basically a MIM Roadworn with some extra relic’ing, not a vintage instrument! A couple of Christmases ago I woke at 4am, and was still awake at 5am, so I got up and (with the help of a YT video) replaced the heater roller in my laser printer. That put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. In the meantime I’ve had another idea…

    I am surprised but the fact is I have to tune it evry couple of weeks instead of a few times a year! I think they are now vulnerable to being knocked, or to temperature cycling. This is mainly the B2 I keep at my partner's home.

    Did you receive any bass related crimbo pressies or unexpected winners this morning? I was lucky enough to get a used Bergantino cab ready for my return to live gigging in a few weeks time and also a posh Tempur pillow from their refurb shop. Once I've seasoned it nicely with some dribble and snot I'll report back on it (both the the pillow and the cab)
