Apropo of nothing, today I came across some footage from the early '90's of Bernard Edwards playing his Ferrari Red Spector NS2. Looked like a fairly early model with dot markers rather than the crown MOP inlays they come with now. It must be the bass he played on Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer. I know that bass went to John Taylor after Bernard died.

You're more than welcome to pop over and have a play squire.

Well, turns out these Musiclily knobs take a fair amount of shoving to get them to go on the solid shaft pots and grip really well with friction alone. So hopefully now it looks a little more like... itself.

ash started following Sterling StingRay Short Scale
-
Sterling Stingray Shortscale This is the newest version and comes with roasted maple neck with rosewood board and custom single ply scratchplate and original white scratchplate. Gotoh string retainer. The neck was originally a maple board one but it got damaged so I swapped it round with another Sterling Stingray I bought. I think the red looks great with the rosewood board. It’s very light at 3.6kgs. Scale length 30”. Excellent condition and the neck is lovely. I’m going back to long scale playing so selling off a few short scales I have accumulated. No trades UK pickup preferred postage will be around £20 if required. I have the original box.

I always wished I didn't get a cinder red pulse 1 when they came out.

I guess whoever manufactures for Warwick, I don't know if that helps matters...

After a few weekends off from the workshop we made some progress today! The fret board was machined with the channels for the fibre optic side dots in the underside of the board. The headstock face was then machined with the fretboard clamped in place to get the smooth transition 👌. Tomorrow we’ll add the side dots then run the fibre optics 🙌 -
Al Nico started following Beautiful wrong note.

Hi. Les Dawson knew how to play the funny wrong note and there are also some beautiful wrong notes. They're called add9, but they are often add2 but still called add9. add2 is much easier to understand. Start with C major C, E, G. Now count up the C major scale and stop at the 2nd note, so 1=C, 2=D stop. D. add the 2nd note in the C major scale to the C major chord and we have C, D, E, G. Inspiring and smoothy vibes. Where does the 9th come from. If you count up the C major scale to the next D, it's in 9th place. That's all I'm prepared to say about that. It's a friendly vibe in major, and beautiful in minor. Try this. It feels odd at first but you might grow to like it. Playing the bass and singing, swap between these two harmonies. Sing = D, Bass = C Sing = C, Bass = G♯ The first harmony could be major or minor. Using what we know from bass having the power to change chords, if we stack all the notes in, we can find the relative minor of the add9 by lowering the bass 3 semitones for major, or 4 for minor. Mind blowing, but beautiful. - find the relative minor of the add9, and know what you're talking about. Power to the bass player.

We spoke to Nicks sister today, Nick family are putting on a memorial concert in Peterborough on the 7th September and wants to draw the raffle then so I’d imagine we’ll start selling tickets 4-6 weeks before then -
I used to enjoy doing that, but we lost our keyboard player so we had to drop it.

Lightweight hipshot tuners. Drop D Xtender. Lightweight at just under 3.4kg Can’t get on with anything accept jazz necks so the only trades of interest would be a EBMM Sterling and maybe a G&L SE-2. Me again. This never sold, then I had a baby, and now I'm slowly getting back to reality 😁 So I'm bumping this with a note to any potential buyers; if you're in the UK and you're willing to be patient, I am willing to hop across the border and post this from Northern Ireland to avoid any import duty etc.
