  1. Past hour
  2. Put your offer back in my friend. As @Freddi375 has stated this is all the way American. I've had one.
  3. I get that. I've never smoked either, but I think the smell of a pipe being smoked will always be "the smell of a proper pub" in my mind.
  4. Yes - let's! Bass By The Bins! Which might either be a reflection on my modding skills or an entire new sub-topic. Either way I think I've now given the poor thing a complex...
  5. steady gigging across the covers and blues bands, including new venues and material. see the originals band do some decent support gigs and maybe a headline in a good local venue. see the originals band record an album. maybe a bit of depping to satisfy my urge to learn new stuff. try and do some songwriting and home recording (and strengthen my music theory). finally get Teen Town and a couple of other songs that I would like to be able to play properly to improve my 'chops'.
  6. Rainbow - Rising What a cracker!
  7. 7 days - Sting
  8. I’ve had these for a number of years, replaced the ears once already, now they need replacing again, I don’t have the patience to do it. So, av’em. They work ok, a bit of patience is required to coax The ear pad back on, or renew both. Price includes postage Thanks for looking
  9. One of the very few second hand bits of gear I've had was what turned out to be a well smoked Orange SP212 and Roqsolid felt-lined cover. Tried bicarb and various other things but the smell never left it, so it had to leave. Having experienced that, if I found myself in the OP's position it wouldn't matter how good the deal was; I'd be sealing the box back up and telling them to get it collected and refunded.
  10. Happy birthday to you too! Well, never say never. If an old codger like me can still do it...
  11. For your Peavey's use BassBros. Going through a retailer, it will be easier and quicker, but you'll take a significant knock on the money you'll get.
  12. If I'm not mistaken it's a LaFey Remington Steele with a stainless steel fingerboard. Vigier have made fretless basses with metal fingerboards too.
  13. My goal for 2026 is to carry-on gigging with the two bands I’m in. The obstacle to that is that the partner of the singer (common to both bands) had a bad stroke in November. She’s back home but needing a lot of care and can’t really be left alone at the moment. I’ll fit-in with whatever the singer is able to commit to in the future. Perhaps it’ll be fewer gigs and closer venues. If I find I have spare capacity I’ll join or form another band. Continuing with about two gigs a month is my aim. I’m perfectly happy as a hobbyist, never wanted to have playing music as my main or sole source of income.
  14. to the question @Mokl asked, for me it would be better body/neck woods (basswood vs mahogany / plain rock maple vs flame roasted & rounded (Hemispherical) fret ends + ice pickguard....for less money (if you can find someone who will do land/sea shipping....) i'll see if its possible to get one sent to zenmarkets redistro service as land/sea from japan>UK is about £40 atm.....
  15. Biggest challenge is going to be where you put the battery I suspect, PBasses are not an easy ask for off the shelf preamps
  16. I know what you mean but my circumstances have very recently changed. If things change again I will probably keep it!
  17. Happy birthday! I dunno. I’m a glass half empty kinda fella! I guess I mean things are really slowing down for me on the music side now. I’m done playing in bands, I can’t see myself ever playing live again, so it’s just home recording and teaching for me. It feels very much like retirement considering I used to manage a recording/rehearsal place too!
  18. 7 days - Craiiiiiiig Daiiiiivid
  19. This isn't the first thread we've had about Sqoeeeee basses - those Strandberg-esque headlesses provoked a bit of interest a couple of years back, if I recall. Did anyone take the plunge?
  20. I am not sure if I am following your problem here - you had this preamp working on a jazz bass, and now you want it on a P bass? Do you have a picture of the label on the preamp or an indication of what make it is (like from when you bought it) - the blend doesn't work but obviously some preamps (most?) the blend is before the preamp - the rest of it would be exactly the same as how it was originally installed. You say you want switches - for what?
  21. I’m sorry - I was sure it was shown under “tutors available” in the unread topics list
  22. Yes. I was channelling Theresa may, which is not a sentence that I ever thought I might utter
  23. Mine too — this will replace my existing firebird which is a fantastic instrument, but having grovers instead of banjo tuners has always bugged me.
  24. Fair Deal confirmed they will not be stocking anymore of these basses. Ordering direct from Nafiri will sadly result in an additional 20% VAT charge.
  25. Is it? Its where I would put it. Probably more a mod issue, they tend to do these things and know better than me!
  26. Back in the days when smoking in pubs was a thing, my old carpet-covered SWR Goliath 4x10’s used to reek of smoke, but I found it dissipated fairly quickly. Funny thing is that despite having never been an active smoker, I now find the smell of tobacco smoke to be “nostalgic”.
