  2. surely no one would ever think of such a thing😂
  3. I was very nearly tempted by a Stiletto Session fretless 5 being advertised months ago (of all places up for sale with Cash Converters) What made me decide against it was the narrow string spacing, plus a Diamond fretless I'd bought a couple of years ago. That one was heavy and I just couldn't get on with it. Nice Cherry red colour though. I like Schecter. They're fine basses. Well made with a good reputation. They always seem to me to be a bit of an 'also ran' a bit of an outsider.
  4. Hard to see them disappearing, you'd imagine they'll get acquired by one of the bigger conglomerates. Kontakt seems like such an industry standard that someone will want the IP at least.
  5. Has it gone ? I thought I saw it still for sale last night 🤔

  8. :But I'm not talking about Yamaha basses in general. I'm a fan of the brand but specifically the TRBX605FM wasn't the one for me from a feel point-of-view. If that model works for you that's great.
  9. Yup.
  10. I recently purchased this from a small solo builder. Fantastic build quality and to my ears it's identical to the Darkglass I had. I had no need for a DI like the original, this doesn't have one. So it's just a killer dirt box. It was a kind of impulse purchase for me, as awesome as it is I've really no use for it sadly (I can get similar with what I already have) . I put it on my board but it's had very little use so it's as new. £93 posted. Always happy to hear trades w.h.y(possibly another vintage micro tubes)👍 I forgot to take a pic, but I've put fresh pedal tape on the bottom (I can remove if needed)

  11. It is certainly an interesting looking bass. Bass Direct seem to have had it since Jesus was a lad, so if you rang up and made a reasonable offer I suspect it could be yours. Looking at it, I had expected it to be quite heavy for the size of it, as composite basses often are! (Status and Basslab being the exceptions to that). Seeing this thread reminded me of the Spellbinder II bass, which I had thought would have been about 20 years old but was actually released in 2001! Much like the first Spellbinder bass, Stanley didn't use it much, if at all.

  13. Only the set with the dark blue silks is available.
  14. Snazzy Gig Skinz padded carry bag. In used condition and with plenty of padding although the front (with the two pockets on) flap internal padding appears to have disintegrated and sounds like a load of Walkers crisps (other brands available) moving inside when you unzip the flap or turn the bag upside down. So I guess it’s best not to do either of those if you don’t like crisp noises! I have checked thoroughly but sadly couldn’t find any crisps. The internal dimensions of the main compartment are 40cms long, 30cms wide and 12cms deep, so it should be more than large enough for those wonderful modern lightweight heads. Price includes InPost locker service.
  15. Flavius is a very nice man to deal with, also very honest and friendly. His basses are always the best. Good luck Flavius with your sale!
  16. I will be busy for the next week or two so won't be posting. You'll have to make do with the 800+ that are already there 😎 Back early Feb.
  17. "Steve Doc Kupka (sax) Emilio Castillo (trumpet). Both from Tower of Power. George Bohannon (trombone)"
  18. I've tried many, many over the years and insubstantial is nothing like I'd describe them. Yamaha guitars and basses are generally very good.
  19. This is so crazy! Please whenever it is ready.
  20. Moi aussi. Geddy has always had a unique tone, but the Moving Pictures/Subdivisions era are just untouchable.
  21. And back to my cab (maybe I should start a different thread). A little bit of action as I glued in the back and tried to round the edges, forgetting which side the workpiece should have been on, so they're a bit messy. I shall try and tidy up a bit tomorrow. Also put a brace in, far enough down so it won't foul the speaker. My quest to get my 110 back into service after the poxy Made in USA Eminence driver blew up has been a little less fruitful, I didn't do a great job of cutting out the speaker hole in the baffle in the first place, and had to bodge the fixings, and the replacement speaker hasn't got holes in quite the same places so I either have to drill new holes and redo my bodges or graft in a new section of baffle (removing the old baffle is impractical).
  22. Oh My God! Our Band Used To Do This In The Social Clubs Of Central Scotland In The Time Before The Dinosaurs Roamed!! Street Cred Shot To Hell.
  23. Pre-spoiler I prefer the order of 2,1,4,3. On the first demo I didn't gel with 3 at all. Now I will have a look what they are.
  24. I was already playing bass, with a pretty generic tone, when I heard Geddy Lee on Permanent Waves and then Moving Pictures, that tone set the standard for me and I've played variations of that bright, distorted sound for 45 years. Lee's aggressive playing style also influenced my own very hard-hitting finger-style, which compliments the sound very well. I blame Geddy, however, I don't play Ricky's or Jazz basses, so it's not all a carbon copy.
  25. This would be a big loss, Reaktor and Kontakt are both great, Reaktor in particular is pretty unique and the user library is full of amazing stuff going back decades. I have a feeling that this will keep happening to similar companies and we are seeing the early stages of the death of electronic music, or at least software based electronic music. As AI eats everything digital, people are slowly losing interest in this stuff and values are beginning to shift. If AI can crap out a generic house tune which is indistinguishable from a human-made one, it’s game over. When people can’t tell the difference between digital and AI, they will just lose faith in the whole thing and move on. Same thing is beginning to happen to digital art too. Interesting times.
