  3. I’m easily replaced! 😂
  4. The Gator bag is very slightly too tight from memory (I tried @eude’s one which holds his GK) but it does have the advantage of extra depth for cables. Will see if we can try it again asap.
  5. The new neck looks the business, @ped . Ref the old neck, personally, I would take the tension off the trussrod to avoid the possibility of a permanent back bow setting in over storage time...

  7. When people get their first Stingray, they always do the same thing, especially if it's a 2EQ - dial the bass and treble all the way up. Then they wonder why all they can hear in a band context is woof and click, with no midrange. So they sell it. Eventually, they discover that the EQ controls are kinda interactive, as you dial up the bass and treble, it actually sucks the mids out. So you end up only adding a tiny bit of boost to each, and, all of a sudden, you can actually hear yourself in the mix!
  8. I'll Be Missing You - Diddy/Faith Evans
  9. What? A spare you?
  10. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  12. Funeral - Devin Townsend
  13. Yep, I think I played a Firehouse song on it....!
  14. Mine balances quite well, but it's an earlier one and doesn't have the metal plate on the back.
  15. I think I've seen it on your channel!
  16. This is a Fernandes copy of the Spector reverse TBird they made for Nikki Sixx in the very late 80's. Much prefer the Spector headstock on this particular shape to a Jackson headstock. I have *cough* 3 of them....
  17. I have one of these. Huge sounding.... and weighing bass!
  18. -When someone says something like "let's have a jam" -Calling a guitar an axe -The word mojo -"the pocket" -When you see band members looking at each other like some little lick they've just played is the best thing to ever hit human ears, with a stupid smug look on their faces. I understand that they're getting into the music and enjoying themselves but I still hate it, smug fart sniffing b*****ds. -The word "lick"
  19. For anyone who hasn’t heard this, it’s superb, good luck mickey
  20. The review says it all: comprehensive, US published and hard to find. Price is UK posted, unread condition. Now £16. Times And Seasons - The Rise and Fall and Rise of the Zombies Robin Platts HoZac Books, $31.99 356 pages Classic British pop, expertly chronicled Few books on the Zombies exist, but theirs is a story worth telling. And it's predictable that, given their Stateside star status, this quintessentially English quintet of She's Not There and Tell He No fame should be chronicled on an American imprint. The band only hung up its touring shoes last year after leader/keyboardist Rod Argent's stroke, but the work he and singer Colin Blunstone created after their reunion in 2001 - the years since 1968 being silent, in a Zombies sense - are also covered in detail by author Platts. The band always had a youthful camaraderie, having come together at high school, and that comes over faithfully in this account of their heyday - plus a long tail that details their subsequent musical careers. While Blunstone went solo and Argent created an eponymous prog band (of God Gave Rock And Roll To You fame), guitarist Paul Atkinson went behind the scenes and signed Abba to CBS - a feather in anyone's cap. Detail is forensic without being stifling. If the layout is a trifle fanzine-y, the integration of illustrative material like press cuttings and photos with the text helps make this an easy read. And the urge to play the music, always the sign of a good book, is irresistible.
  21. His latest posthumous release is a double CD and DVD presentation from the Swiss Baloise Festival in 2008. Highlight is Al Kooper’s I Love You More Than Youll Ever Know b Retails at over £20. This is sealed and unplayed, £12 posted UK seems reasonable.
  22. Wondering why my amp isn't working before noticing there's no cable in my bass.
  23. I use this: Although it isn't a plug style unit it is tiny, runs off an internal battery and comes with a detachable belt clip. Supports IR and NAM captures and can also stream music from your phone via bluetooth. They do fancy colours now as well: https://www.sonicake.com/products/pocket-master
  24. Gently lambasted someone on the "newbie fret buzz" thread about which way to turn the truss rod nut (left or clockwise), then promptly went and tightened my truss rod when it needed loosening. Muppet.
  25. I agree, that makes it worse but it isn't the root cause.
