Selling 65 tickets is a big deal to me. Outside of our festival and fair gigs where people pay at the gate to get in, Maple Road does horribly with "pay to get in" gigs. Most are canceled due to low ticket sales. Actually most ticketed events in my area are for signed national touring bands not local weekend warriors. Daryl

Played a Wedding gig in the beautiful Surrey Hills yesterday. Packed with beautiful, horsey ladies in flowing summer dresses and, doh, their dumb other halves in polo shirts and tight trousers ending mid calf with NO socks and loafers... 🤦♂️ Played my Betsy with the GK Legacy and LFSys Monaco so sounded fab as usual.👍😎 Spent most of the night fending off huge hornets that liked the lights above our heads, which kinda ruined our performance vibe a little though.....!! 🐝🐝🐝🐝

Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby? - Louis Jordan

The first one of a two gig weekend today at the Eclipse pub in Loscoe, Derbyshire. We were part of The Losca Festival, a one day event to raise money for local charities. Live music from midday until late in three pubs all within about a hundred metres of each other. We did a forty-five minute set of covers starting at 4.45. Very hot and sweaty, but we went down a storm. I think the audience had imbibed just the right amount of alcohol. Unlimited free food and drinks for performers and we’ve got some paid bookings out of it.

Here is my fender Mex P which i purchased brand new in 2021,it's in excellent condition and it's only been played at home. I never really took to the neck to be fair,i'm more of a Jazz bass neck fan. Anyway it's not being given the playing justice it deserves so i'm moving it on to someone who'll actually play this lovely Bass. I upgraded the Pickup in 2022 to Fender pure Vintage 63 ones. I also changed the pickguard to the tort one seen here. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINALS FOR THE ABOVE WHICH CAN BE ADDED FOR £60 ON TOP. I have added the Fender specs for clarity also. The guitar can be played and inspected and picked up at my home address in Derbyshire So it is COLLECTION ONLY on this one. So it's time to treat yourself. This is a CASH ONLY SALE payable at the point of collection. The original white scratch plate is available at no extra cost if required.

Got some baby jiffy bags here so I'll get the Colron away to you ASAP 👍

I am, yes. If you're having difficulty finding a suitable receptacle then as a whisky lover I can safely say I can get my hands on something suitable - happy to send it down to you.

Champion. I'll hunt for a slim plastic bottle, whisky miniature/hotel shampoo type. Being bald and teetotal this might take some serious hunting 😆 You still at the address I sent the Herrick to ?

I have a 4 string of this. It's seen a lot of action and shows it, but frets, fingerboard, pickups and bridge look barely used. The pretty lights work as intended. Plays great, not heavy, very useable sounds from the passive EQ.

Exactly what I started with, when I came back to the low end.

That's very kind of you, thanks! I don't need a lot - just refinishing the area you see above, some in the neck pocket and some in the holes for the neck screw ferrules. 50ml maybe? 75? I'm not very good at gauging it.

The thing is that all of those songs (with the possible exception of Jimmy Buffet's back catalogue) were f***ing great the first time you heard them! Yes, you may be sick to the back teeth of them now, but you shouldn't underestimate how good they were until you got sick of them, because you heard them so many times. Of course, this is because people overplayed these songs because they were such brilliant tracks to begin with. I have to play Stairway regularly at gigs because I'm in A Zep tribute band. Although I roll my eyes every time I have to play it, it is worthwhile because of the reaction from punters who perhaps, haven't been as over-exposed to it as much as I have been. The same thing goes for SOTW, as Dunnery says, the simple chromatic bass run up and then playing straight 8s on the root as the riff and drums build moves people in a way that all the shredders playing unbelievable stuff on social media never will.

I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁

6 gigs in last 14 days, all weddings, and all without noise restrictions (absolute miracle to get so many non restricted ones in a row) and 4 were in marquees (so much better for sound) so we we've been able to use my PA for all. Its a super simple setup of 2 x rcf 932a and 2 x rcf 905 subs run via a behringer x-air 18. All on in ears. Acoustic drums and i got to use my amp too. Lovely to have full control over sound with a simple PA that just does the job right. Pull up the band's standard scene, short soundcheck, tweak for room and away we go.

I have had quite a few Markbass cabs and amps ( Markbass 250 / LM11/ LM3 / Momark 250 / Markbass Tube800 ) I have always found the cabs to be “soft “ , and it’s only when I switched to Vanderkley Cabs and suddenly I climbed out of the mud. My small gig rig is Momark 250 pure ( no EQ ) into a EA 12 whizzy . Bigger gigs is Markbass Tube 800 into Vanderkley MNT 210 .
