Basses you hardly ever see for sale
HeadlessBassist replied to BaggyMan's topic in General Discussion
Highway One Fender basses - Y'know, the Mexico made and painted bodies sent for final build in Corona with Grease Bucket tone circuit and Nitro finish with BadAss II bridges. Rare as hen's teeth, and people obviously tend to keep hold of them. -
Never had any significant problems with the DI100s deployed by techs at small venues. I've generally found DI20s to be quite noisy and/or susceptible to interference, though, which is a shame as they're handy in concept.

No electronic device is 100% transparent, so by all means for this application start with something inexpensive and if the results are satisfactory then that's all you need.

I have tried to correct this paucity by having 12 of them now. 🙂 -
Why so few P-Basses? 😆

They're the two at the back, on the left. Nice to play for sure. -

When I wrote that I was paraphrasing something someone said to me at a recent jam: "I was at so-and-so's gig during the week and he made another of his unfunny woke jokes [eyeroll]". I should perhaps have quoted the phrase, as you have done. What I heard was an announcement between tunes which was something like (from memory): "There's this bloke I know who says he's a woman now! What's anyone supposed to do about that sort of thing, then, eh? What am I even supposed to call him? Him? Her? It?" I got the impression this was supposed to be amusing, but didn't find it so.

I have a TC BAM built into my Faux Fender Imp combo which I am bringing along, so could easily be used for comparison.

I play for fun, that’s the beginning and end of it. If I’m not enjoying it then I’ll pack it in. Spending time in the company of someone who’s openly espouses views that I find abhorrent would be a deal-breaker for me. Yes, they’re entitled to their views, and I’m entitled to call them out on it, or leave their presence (most likely both).
-
Nope. For your purpose it would be just the job. The DI100 is an excellent unit.

It would seem you're quite correct, Terry. Neodymium is a rare earth metal, not a ceramic. Oops! Consider me corrected. 🤦♂️ -
£50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁

Here you can calculate a simple RC filter for your cabinet, if you can't find any information about the Eminence "woofer", you can protect your piezo tweeters by using 4000 Hz as the pivot frequency. https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-low-pass-and-high-pass-filter
