In that case you still have time to return it . Go onto those sites and shame them ! Maybe have a look on moneysaving expert or similar for a template to write to them. Don’t be fobbed off on the phone ! Do everything in writing. Cc the head office/ ceo on an email . 🤞you get the desired resolution -
Overwaters are my all time favourites and I have played many brands since '75.

Dunno about the punk thing, but I know that he put together a Thin Lizzy tribute for just a (I think) single gig!

More generally, my initial thoughts on the GX10 having had it for a week or so now are: - form factor is good and it's got a reassuring weight to it reflecting its rugged build; - really like the touchscreen colour interface, which is a nice step up from the GT1000 Core; - the editing software is easy to get to grips with (I guess helped by familiarity with the Core's similar software) and I've quickly figured out a standard clean preamp patch with a div / mix insert ready to put in whatever fx I fancy e.g. Touchwah up / down or Tremolo / Clean etc. It has a drag and drop approach which feels a little more intuitive to me than Core's more 'formal' standard patch layout. Although it's not got the processing power of the GT1000 Core, it shares a considerable number (maybe substantially all?) of the fx patches / effects with its more powerful sibling with the same parameter options and I suspect it will be more than capable for most of my needs as a gigging bassist. I feel I may have finally found the spiritual successor to the Zoom B1-4 as a standalone gigging board, which my little B1-4 sufficed as for a couple of years pre Covid. The key thing I need to see if I can figure out next is how to assign the expression pedal to control parameters, other than being solely a volume pedal, but from @SumOne's earlier posts this shouldn't hopefully be too tricky and will open up some useful additional flexiblity for live use. Finally...who knew that a Slicer fx could be so much fun?! It's got 20 preset slicer patterns and I've taken a shine to #13. Looking forward to seeing my bandmates reaction when that gets unleased on them at the start of 'Freed from desire' on Sat night!

Danny seems like a normal lad and a good player. He has tried for a long time to get where he has, and now it is paying off. He is one of those players who can genuinely play well either plectrum or finger style. I tend to find especially with fingerstyle players, they don't seem to nail it as much with a plectrum. Not sure his bands are that great....YET. I think he has potential though. It seems a bit 'punk by numbers'.....like my first punk band (even though his playing is WELL beyond that). Curious...is his dive into the punk scene a new thing?

No I'll be taking an M-Pulse and a rather interesting Mesa cab with 1x10 and 2x6 (essentially top part of a 1516). I've yet to find a room in which that rig sounds anything less than bloody good Top cab here....

Different EQ for flats and rounds?
Steve Browning replied to bassbiscuits's topic in General Discussion
I use the same amp settings and use the tone control (on the rounds bass) to make any adjustments. My gigging basses are all Precisions, so the basic difference between the two types of string is often fine (for me). -

Its pretty incredible they have kept it going for as long as they have on their own, I assumed they had been bought by a big player decades ago. Its a very niche product as a core instrument I can't see why someone wouldn't buy the license to use the name and build these going forward, but I can't see anyone saving the business.

How was your open mic or jam night last night?

Hofner make excellent instruments, and not just basses.

Thank you very much for the answer. That's bad news, I was considering buying a standalone analog synth for this song but seeing that the FI4 had MIDI in I guessed I could upgrade the Akai DI to the FI and use it with an external keyboard. If it is not possible to trigger the synth at the same time with the audio input and the MIDI in, at least it would be very interesting having the option to switch between both modes easily. I hope you'll be succesful in achieving that. Thank you very much for your efforts!

Having managed to source a GX10 for a very decent used price from my longstanding BC "Boss Multi supplier", I thought I'd give the Touch Wah a spin given your query! It's pretty good! Particularly liking it on BPF setting and the fact that I can switch from up to down sweep with the press of a button having set up a divider on the main signal chain path, which is very easy to do. I personally prefer it the up sweep over the down sweep. I'd be perfectly happy to use the filter patch with my band. I can't comment on how it compares to their Touch Wah pedal though, as I've never had one. Hope that helps!

Video/Audio sync issue - sampling rates?
EliasMooseblaster replied to EliasMooseblaster's topic in Recording
OK, so it looks like the phone camera may be the culprit: I popped open the metadata for the video file, and it looks like it's nominally "supposed to be" 30fps, but the decoders on my computer are reporting this weird 28.7fps. I wonder if this is some kind of space-saving shenanigans in the Google Camera app. Might be time to try some different software which offers more control over the video settings... - Today

Mad news but who would buy it?

Short answer, no. I’m hoping to get a MIDI command added that allows the switch though.

Only got it yesterday afternoon, told them this morning I wanted to return it. -
Well, if that cheapo really is 7lbs dead with the neck and standard tuners (and if it isn't it's going straight back) then I guess I've got some wiggle room with the neck weight, as it's unlikely a cheapo neck'll be very light, and I'll be fitting Ultralites or somesuch anyway...I note Gotoh do Res-O-Lite cloverleaf tuners (the GRL510C-9) which are almost HALF the weight of Ultralites (36g!), but I can't find them in the UK.

I did ask them to do that, but they said it wasn't possible which is strange as they state if a return is found not to be faulty then they may deduct £9.99 from the refund to cover the return so clearly, they get much better rates with DPD than I can, but say they can't do it in this case. -

After years of avoiding open mics like the very plague I now go to 3 on a semi regular basis. Open mic in a pub - sign up sheets, collabs, solo performers, improv jam session, some times a bit over run with Ukuleles, but other times steel pan, and other odd instrument players arrive to change up the vibes, it is generally great. Afrobeat Jam in a record shop - House band invite players to join them for improv jams, no sign up sheet, no Ukuleles yet. Got to have some chops to keep up with the HB but welcoming and good vibes, musically interesting. Jazz Jam in a pub - House band plays then just leaves, cue desperate musos fighting each other for a spot then proceed to make a collection of independent "jazz" solos dominated by the drum solo, more of a sonic jumble sale than a jam imho, I might go back when I grow a new ego. Disorganisation aside it was ok perhaps I arrived on a full moon.
