  1. Past hour
  2. I don't think anyone is getting ripped off here. Unless there's a BC kids TV show starting featuring all of these puppets...
  3. I need to re-line a cable trunk. Opinions on what to use? Carpet? Underlay? New foam? I read that yoga mats are a good/cheap/tough foam option.
  4. Another Jeff Berlin performance, this one achievable by us mere mortals, this is the tune Andre from the 1988 Kazumi Watanabe album 'The Spice Of Life Too'. No solo, just great part playing. One run that is challenging but you can ignore it without any detriment to the performance. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/andre-kazumi-watanbe/
  5. I do have a silver briefcase type thing to which I added foam that would nestle the desk and power cable nicely that I could throw in if that helps?
  6. ...and as variables go the overall sound of a band will be far more dependent on the muppet (or not) running the PA rather than the bass players choice of 10s or 15s! Someone above mentioned only ever using 12s as the sweet spot. I can see merit to that argument (merely becasue 12 falls between 10 and 15) but I think to say you ONLY use one size of speaker is a bit limiting. At the end of the day half the fun of playing electric instruments is trying different things be they pickups, pedals, amps or cabs. It's just interesting that certainly on this forum the choice of speaker size raises so many passions (there's possibly a rude joke in here somewhere... 🙂 )!
  7. And here it is... Original and Not-a-Muppet-but-something-similar Interesting how it's changed my jazz to a precision. It's repaired my jeans, and made my stubbly facial hair almost beard into the lush kind of beard I can only wish for.
  8. lol we all Have. Nice other stuff but that body was whispering for me to start a bista project. hope everyone enjoys the hottest day of the year.
  9. The band I am in is called the Desert Penguins. So here's one I prepared earlier while I wait for Chat GPT to recreate me as a puppet "inspired by the Muppets"
  10. The Harrisons and Music Ground have released many dubious and fake guitars into the wild over their long and illustrious careers.
  11. Absolutely. The whole point of having your own Sound tech is to have a good one who knows how your band is supposed to sound.
  12. Well, shows what I know! Guitarist says he is leaving to concentrate on solo acoustic/bluegrass banjo. So, no band!
  13. ...but let's face it Steve, he could probably sell back at a later date to the original seller
  14. ....and which shows what a minefield this space can be, having experienced some very descriptions of vintage instruments when I was buying my '64 - all documented elsewhere on this site - it does make me wonder how many people out there have paid a lot of money for a now cherished vintage Fender that is simply not a vintage Fender, often because the (reputable) shop took the easy route and were less than rigorous in inspection and verification. In this case looks like bass Direct haven't taken the easy route.
  15. Tom bought my Yamaha amplifier - easy comms and smooth transaction, very responsive. Can totally recommend! Ander.
  16. That's works with me, I'll send you a PM with the details.
  17. Probably some idiot stupidly frittering away his rainy day fund on something he doesn't really need. Or her, of course.
  18. That's a good point 👍
  19. Just stick a bit of cardboard in there, but make sure it's tone-cardboard.
  20. Ander sold me a Yamaha THR30 amp. Absolutely perfect all round. Cheers! Tom
  21. I've got of these too. Neck dive for sure with any almost all T-Bird inspired shapes, but I moved the strap button to neck heel and it's about 75% better. I've also been tinkering with it, rewired pickups to single coil (lower neck coil and upper bridge coil) and it's much more J bass now.
  22. NOW REDUCED TO £120!!! Legendary octave pedal in highly desirable relic’d finish 😉. Works fine, just looks knackered, much like myself. Born in Japan, May 1985 (the pedal, not me). Free UK postage. Cheers! Sam.

  23. Today
  24. I've just gone back to Schallers on my Spectors; all with 4" padded leather straps. At <4kg each they are super comfy. The new type Schaller with the hex drive screws and locking security rings are 1000× more secure than rubber washers and there is less chance of smacking your bass on something when removing them too (don't ask). On my Yams and Valenti I have the D'Addario clips, again, much better then the rubber washers. These live at home mostly so the straps are permanently on. With the Spectors, because of the placement of the strap buttons, the straps stay on when they're in transit in the Mono gig bag. I had a Dunlop strap lock disintegrate on me at a wedding gig sound check in 2009. I gaffer taped it for the gig and haven't gone near those
