  2. If AI video generation keeps advancing at the current rate in a year or so the scandal won't be that influencers are decieving their followers, it'll be that they never existed in the first place.
  3. Could be worse it could lead to an entire country turning into a reality TV show. Ermm OK that’s already happening.
  4. Hello, I'm selling this MXR Bass Compressor. It's in almost new condition, with the original box. I'm sure everyone knows what to expect with these now - a nice and natural sounding comp, that's easy to use, with great visual metering too. I'm asking £115, which includes next day delivery. Any questions, shoot me a message. Thanks.

  5. Absolutely correct. Social media was originally created to supposedly 'bring us all together'. The truth is that when you give everybody a voice, it creates separation and division. Outrage will give you more views than simple, peaceful joy. I'm all for people like Charles Berthoud expanding what the instrument can do, and it was touching to see Victor Wooten naming him as the 'Heir Apparent', commenting that he was the player that took things further than he ever could. Hopefully that inspires a new generation to be even better. But yes, I don't get many opportunities to showboat. My money is mainly earned by being a bass player, supporting the music, holding everything together and making the people at the front of the stage sound great.

  7. If you want fuzz this will give it to you in spades. A few marks and some velcro on the back but otherwise it's in good condition. I'm having a clearout at the moment as I haven't been in a band for a few years now, otherwise I'd be keeping it. I'm afraid I can't find the box but it will be packed well when posted.

  8. Price drop to £380 Hi Everyone, I’m selling my Sennheiser EW 100 G4 Wireless Instrument System with Ci1 (E Band) £380 - including UK postage I’ve used this once live and less than a handful of times in a pre-prod environment. Owned for a couple of years and it lived in a rack. Complete with all original parts, plus the extra rack components for mounting and a couple of extra right angle cables for the body pack. Cheers!
  9. Here’s the dimensions straight from the Aguilar website. I think it’s in inches. Hope this helps! Cheers!
  10. Price drop - £135 includes UK postage Hi, I’m selling my Aguilar Octamizer version 2. Well looked after and very little use. £185 price includes UK Postage. Here’s a bit of info from Aguilar: AN ALL-ANALOG OCTAVE PEDAL THAT CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL SOUNDS AN OCTAVE BELOW YOUR BASS SIGNAL. Modeled with old school and new school needs in mind, the Octamizer features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds. This makes dialing in the exact amount of each a cinch. The two discrete signal paths also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities. The CLEAN TONE control uses a full spectrum tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Proprietary detector circuit for superior tracking Continuously variable multipole low-pass filter for Octave sound Dual filter architecture Full spectrum tilt EQ for clean sound Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Cheers! Michael
  11. Hi, I’m selling my Strymon Zuma Pedal Power Supply. £180 includes postage within the UK Includes an IEC lead, 7 of the original power cables (right angle to straight) and a handful of voodoo labs power cables (right angle to right angle) Specs: 9 high-current, fully isolated outputs. 9 outputs offer 9V DC option. 500mA per 9V DC output powers nearly any pedal. 2 selectable outputs offer 9V, 12V, or 18V DC options. 12V option provides 375mA, 18V provides 250mA. 24V OUT jack allows connection to additional outputs via Strymon Ojai (sold separately). One slight little chip to the paint on the top (photo below) and there’s a bit of sticker residue on the bottom left over from previous Velcro. Thanks, Mike
  12. This is Danny's job. The outrage, the shares, the links and the likes are all generating cash for him and others. (The paradox of pointing out the fakery here is that it'll generate more clicks for the faker, generating them cash too.) It's a job as pointless as most of them (thanks David Graeber), but it's his job. Well paid? Who knows. Emotionally fulfilling? Probably not. What's weird about theYouTube thing is that, from what I can see, it's people performing incredible things on their own in a room. It's the antithesis of what music making is, which is playing with people for people. Basically, social media sucks, people are stupid and bass players should stop double tapping, slapping and showing off, and play the root note.
  13. Any photos ?
  14. The bass was upside down, the roller had to sit on the neck itself and the 25mm cutter with roller didn't quite reach even at max plunge. Could have pulled it out of the collet a bit, but then there was a chance I might not have cut the very top (well, bottom, because we're upside down) of the area I wanted to cut. So yes, I did need to use this scary so-and-so...
  15. Sorry, you're using a 50mm router bit? That's nearly as wide as the neck pocket!
  16. Another day, eh? I'm likening this to the "jaGuar" marketing late last year. People were up in arms, because of the totally un-Jaguar woke nonsense marketing campaign, and the tv advert that didn't even have so much as a concept car in it. The truth was that it was a hugely clever marketing campaign which got EVERYBODY talking about the forthcoming new jaGuar and the new direction of the company. And we're all sitting here being outraged while Sapko walks off with his YouTube earnings and that girl continues to mime badly. Maybe outrage was the whole point, because they've certainly got us all talking about it.
  17. You can't deny, they are a fine looking machine these Handox amps. I really like the built in cae. Very practical.
  18. Sold Alex a UHX Bass Metaphors preamp/dist pedal. Great comms, fast payment, happy to do business. Hope you enjoy it! Cheers K
  19. It's about £215 extra booze at typical 70% wet margins. Personally I'd go see a decent live band over a solo act + backing tracks, every time!

  21. If you read Beedster's post again, he makes an important point which contributes to the discussion.
  22. My perspective on this topic is you can walk into Fortnum and Mason and browse through all the delicious cheese. If you then walk out with some processed cheese straws and get all bent out of shape because they taste sh1t there is not much to say. Yes they taste sh1t. Choose something better.
  23. I watched Anthony's video the other week. They're undoubtedly good value, and great basses if you want to play in a 60's/early 70's outfit. Nice to see they've fixed the awful bright yellow "vintage" neck tinting they were doing a few years ago, too.
  24. Whereabouts in Warwickshire ?
  25. This won't really be news to anyone, but . . . I rehearsed with my RM 800 into my Eden D210MBX in my newish rock band last night. The owner of the basement studio we rehearse in is a bass player and last night he had his Ampeg combos out trying to sort out some gremlins. He asked if I wanted to use one and see if there were any problems, so I plugged into a B600 115. I tried the tube and solid state section, but I didn't have my glasses so didn't spend too much time dialling in a sound. It was nice and warm, but not remarkably interesting at all. After a couple of run througs of our first song, the volume dipped so I plugged back into my rig. Instantly the sound was on a different level. I had to ask the others for confirmation and they agreed without hesitation, the Ashdown sound was just hands down better. I think I need to stop looking for a lightweight replacement for the Eden. It sounded so good.
  26. I mean there was a 10 year period when I was not playing at all, did not even own an instrument. Are you saying it's possible to factor that in for the averages? Already feeling better!
