  1. Past hour
  2. I'll bring it along to your bass bash next year Rob.
  3. Yes, yes and yes. But it’s all horses for courses. I used to hate seeing a band and getting stuck in front of (insert whoever you like except the bass player here) and not being able to hear anything else except their amp. But the ‘sterility’ of getting stuck in front of a PA speaker with everything in it and wondering why I can hear the bass player when they are ‘over there’ is weird.
  4. More than happy to take it off your hands at a "load of junk" price if you want Absolute beauty as already said. I love little things like this 'notch'. I doubt I'd ever notice it if it wasn't for other people....
  5. Kings Rd Vintage sent me the photos of the internals all those years ago but no mention on the neck plate discrepancy. That really was my only concern when I checked it out. I'm not going to change it though.

  7. I am assuming this is a 3 x 5 string bass... Playing with a plectrum or fingers, then the order of the strings can be different. If there's a preferred string set (flat/RW, SS/Ni), I would start with that. Piccolo strings are pretty rare, there may be only few choices available. I suppose the bass has to be well made: to push three strings at once would feel harsh under the finger if the trio is far away from the fretboard. https://www.daddario.com/products/guitar/bass-guitar/xl-nickel-bass/exl280-nickel-wound-piccolo-bass-20-52-long-scale/
  8. Lovely looking bass. As well as the truss-rod, do these have carbon rods reinforcing the neck?

  10. Your understandings and conclusions based on how you are reading the specs from the data sheets is flawed.
  11. They obviously didn’t know what they was talking about Jazzy, it’s a beauty
  12. I am selling my Barefaced Super Compact bass cabinet. Price is £500. I bought the cab on this forum from @FinnDave in March 2024. Condition is excellent. It is a 1x12 cabinet, with a silver cloth grill. The cab is rated at 600w / 8 ohm. Cover is included. These are incredible cabs, and super-light. I am only selling because I have subsequently bought more Barefaced cabs! Collection preferred. Not looking for trades. Thanks

  14. Well, thanks again for all your collective knowledge, I doubt that I would have noticed in a month of Sundays re the tuner baseplate stamping. It is reassuring to know that I didn't buy a 'load of junk' as one USA forum contributer suggested.

  16. As new, used once. Very nice bag, decent padding and support etc. carrying straps fold away when not in use. Which is nice. £75 posted or a bit cheaper if you want to collect. Cheapest I could find online was 117…

  19. Shows how we’re all different, the MB sounded crap to me in comparison! As @Stub Mandrel alluded to, it depends what we’re listening though perhaps…
  20. A year on and I'm still with Spotify. I run a Sonos system for my audio, stereo pairs (several), portable speakers. If anyone has been following the issues with the Sonos app in the last year, sticking with Spotify was probably a good decision, at least from the perspective of actually being able to push music to me system when the Sonos app was barely functioning. I think that right now, it's probably time to start thinking about switching to Tidal. There's a service called TuneMyMusic that'll transfer all my playlists from Spotify to Tidal, so maybe that's a project for Future Me.
  21. The plan is that I will be living there in three or four years time!
  22. I lived in Southern Spain from 1962-1966. Maybe some of my friends are still there. Lol Daryl
  23. Nice looking PA, I inherited a 90s Peavey (I think)...scares the beejeebers out of me when I switch it on. I reckon when humanity gets wiped from the planet only cockroaches and Peavey PAs will remain...I wonder if cockroaches make good sound engineers 🤔
  24. A very pleasing colour combo.
  25. @admiralchew I see you have a Volt Thrower, how would you compare these two ? Apart from the filtered blend they seems to share a lot (Rat based, clipping options...)
