  2. Again, not the sort of thing that lends itself to a display for a room full of people at a Bass Bash. You could absolutely discuss why a bass player may want to use a HPF, but difficult to demonstrate in the same way you could show the benefits of, and the different ways of how to use a compressor.
  3. It's not something to be demonstrated in that 'audio' fashion, but if the speaker cone displacement was visible, it could make the point. Not all comparisons are audible; this is one of them.
  4. Maybe - but the hole pattern is wrong - the Sterling bridge has three holes along the bottom and two on the outside edges of the plate. The three in the middle *might* line up OK, but even if that happens you'd have two redundant holes in the plate left and right, and you'd either have to ignore them and hope that three screws is enough, or drill new holes for the first and fifth holes. Definitely not a direct replacement.
  5. Thanks they look nice but bass direct only have the 5 string
  6. Cheers mate 👍🏻
  7. Rash petallica cory Amos system of a dawn bum 41 moony blues whipesnske wisp
  8. Yes, they've got modified cattle prods in the ear pieces, but shhh, don't tell anyone!
  9. Are they slap cancelling?
  10. Great choice! - I have the smaller M2 which I take when travelling to use with a laptop. It's performed flawlessly. I really like MOTU's products and have owned several over the years. The MIDI Express 128 running the synths in my studio is nearly 20 years old, and hasn't skipped a beat.
  11. Fender only made 500-550 of these Active Flea basses, so this pickup is super rare. I was due to pop it in a project, but an unexpected bass purchase has changed that. Designed by Tim Shaw, it has a huge output, and well sculpted tone. It has ceramic magnets, just like Flea’s Lane Poor pickups. Photographed with a Fender Active Flea Bass and exposed pickup just for verification. £150 collected, or postage via Royal Mail at cost.
  12. Thank you ! Parts arrived from Farnell , and all fitted yesterday. So far, so good ! Sounding great to me. One thing I noticed was the voltage setting link is set on the middle position , 220v . ( middle of PCB ) Would you be willing to check your amp see which position your link is on. There is another position, next to it, with 120/240 written on it . Is your link there ? There is also a large link at the side of the PCB , that is NOT fitted. Best Wishes, Mike.
  13. Good news, easy replacement at not much cost
  14. £330 posted- basically £100 off and brand new
  15. I would still suggest that a demonstration of using a HPL with a fixed cut-off frequency would have limited appeal, even at a Bass Bash: 'So that's what the bass sounds like on its own and this is what it sounds like once we've engaged the Thumpinator that removes frequencies below 25Hz, which you couldn't hear anyway'!
  16. Well found out what the cause was ,it was the 9 volt power supply which in only three months old, this Chinese Amazon junk is exactly what is, junk.
  17. I have a 6 string MTD Kingston. Lovely bass.
  18. Today
  19. I bring headphones to the bashes and they will be made available at all times on both my rigs.
  20. Hi all, looking for an Ashdown mini48, 8 ohm 600W cabinet South Wales based. Are there any out there? Jon
  21. Better now I've attached a strap to it that goes around my head
  22. This. I wouldn’t want the event to turn into a hideous music-show style volume war and a good break is crucial.
  23. Another request from a regular on Talkbass, this is the complete Michael Viñas performance of the tune 'Cuentas Del Alma' from the 1990, Rubén Blades album, 'Live'! More Latin goodness with some nice little nuances to stop things from getting boring. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/cuentas-del-alma-ruben-blades-y-son-del-solar/
  24. hi did this sell or still available?
  25. Are you near any other BC chap/chapess who owns a sans-amp. If you could borrow theirs for a day, you'd know if your one is working as it should. Just a thought.
  26. Not had a single issue with the Lumberg ones from Tayda dude. I know lots of guys that use them too and not had a problem. Opps should have checked the component, thought you were talking about audio jacks, my bad
  27. Didn't know such things existed, now I have just got a load of them I ordered. One thing that bugs me is wiring the PA, connecting the lead, going all the way round the back of everyone else, get to the mixer and.. its the wrong way round, because the pa has in and out sockets. Same as the lights.
