  1. Past hour
  2. Colour me interested.
  3. This might actually turn out well, almost like I planned it
  4. For me it’s Babylon by Bus - Bob Marley, it’s a live album and Family man’s basslines are just superb, I don’t play it often but when I do it’s quite uplifting, it’s worth a listen if your not familiar with it imo
  5. Are you all just making these names up?
  6. Sounds perfectly rational to me. Oh, and bloody "influencers"!
  7. Epiphone EB3 SG Bass in lovely cherry red finish This is the long scale version 34" scale no dings or noticeable scratches or gouges looks and plays great , DIY mirrored scratch plate (can be removed) i prefer the look of the bass without a pickguard. This has also been fitted with a strap button adapter This balances the bass perfectly and eliminates the notorious Epiphone/ Gibson neck dive this too can be removed if preferred, but it does make the bass much more comfortable to play The Rosewood fretboard has been stained to look like ebony(looks much nicer)see the difference in the pictures. Only selling due to upgrading to a new Gibson Model. unfortunately i don't have a spare case for this so would prefer pick up.from Cambs pe285ap i would consider a trade or PX for a solid body short scale , Any thing considered except Gibson or epiphone as i already have a EB3 short scale.

  8. Hey! Is this still available?
  9. I was gifted these copper nylon strings from a good friend @HowieD72. I’m really surprised by the tone. I put them on my 78 mij Yamaha pulser p bass. Maple fretboard and Asian ash body. When you dig in it’s feels like it has a compression effect of the highs. Tames it in a good way. When playing chords they have great sustain and tone, very sweet sounding. They are on loose side (a tad tighter than it flats). This put me off at first. I contacted La Bella and they suggested you should always start off with the regular tensions. Another thing I noticed is the output is lower than my nickels or flats. No problem though I just increase the volume on amp. I am so impressed with its feel under my fingers, so smooth and tone that I’m going to purchase the regular tension. sound so articulate and percussive playing fingerstyle.
  10. I bought a super light (sub 8 pound) CIJ 60s P bass from them in 2024 and all was fine then. Bass as described, arrived quickly etc. I asked the proprietor to double check weight (having been stung before on inaccurately measured weights, including on BC....) and he reconfirmed. Man of few words, if I recall, but the bass was nice!
  11. Root beer, if MusicMan.
  12. Thank you. It works a treat. I feel a bit daft now being rather obvious. You're spot on too. The One Pump Chump is listed as a dependency to the The Zip in the specifications for the standing position. Someone suggested going directly to 'Bass Sniper'. Unbelievable.
  13. Id post this on the thread discussing these - It wasnt so long ago and might save someone joining the waiting list.
  14. Great shout.
  15. Mmmm.... Now that is a work of beauty. Lovely amounts of usage. No showroom queen (in a really good way), you'd have no issues using this. Thankfully I'm completely skint but that's a great looking bass.
  16. Has anyone dealt with them before? I asked them a perfectly reasonable question and got short shrift. Just wondering if I've caught them on an off-day...?
  17. I play mostly in pubs / clubs / wedding venues with a very basic Presonus PA and it was noticeable compared to the direct to mixer via a high quality active DI sound. The sound tightened up and I could here myself better because it pushes the sound forward. Using quality iem / studio headphones / high end hifi it was very noticeable.
  18. A conventional repair would usually involve access from both sides, so a top or back off job, which is either going to be an expensive luthier job or a big DIY one. And it's pretty much in the location where some modern bass makers have put sound ports. The example in the link uses multiple small holes, but one oval just large enough to cover the missing parts would look neat and deliberate. I think I'd want some sort of cross-grain reinforcement on the inside of the hole just for stability and to stop any hairline cracks from spreading https://uptonbass.com/product/arnold-schnitzer-upton-bass-ergo/
  19. I used a soundhole insert from a broken gipsy guitar (so small enough for the side) just as you suggest. Great minds... 😉
  20. Absurd! It's now reduced to £40, I've had to order another one to replace the boring spotlight! https://www.temu.com/goods.html?_bg_fs=1&goods_id=603634750295096&sku_id=61042222696856&_x_sessn_id=uws6uq4cnj&refer_page_name=bgt_order_detail&refer_page_id=10045_1763745067885_qjhig5v54u&refer_page_sn=10045&is_back=1&no_cache_id=5u5we
  21. Today
  22. One that was at a ridiculously cheap price on TEMU (£44!) all the others were significantly more, but it works perfectly and is reasonably bright. Fan cooled. Quiet and a metal case.
  23. It is, I love them, really good at the bridge. On fretless, and like Mo Foster (at least according to an interview I read), I don't use the neck Jazz PUP, to my ear it just muddies things a little too much, so the body came up on eBay and I jumped. I knew I'd seen a similar bass with extended board and single PUP but I may have imagined the latter, either way I think I'm looking for the same out of this as Mr Foster did from his FL Jazz, I love the simplicity, to add to it I'm probably going to run the PUP straight to the jack socket. Have to say iIt has something of a Wishbass look about it in the flesh, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not
  24. … depends on a few things tbh, quality of PA, taste of FOH Engineer (if there are any), size of the band, venue acoustics. … and unfortunately I tend to find better live sound is directly correlated to spending on decent equipment!
