  2. Oh Swell - Fleetwood Mac
  3. Yeah, I remember a discussion about the Lynott bass a few years ago. That is sad news.
  4. Oh wow that’s a massive difference to my experience. Extremely weird.

I teach above Hippo/R&D, both great independent shops run by owners who care about what they are doing.
  6. Got to say, I also love a Ripper. Mine must have been gigged into the high hundreds by now.
  7. To answer your question re the bridge pickup: there is a fair punch from it. If you're not getting that from yours, have you tried raising the pickup height a little? I mostly play through an Aguilar 751 or a Tone Hammer or a Tone Hammer DI, and I find that a little boost on the bass and mid helps greatly. Good luck.
  8. Hi Donny. I’m afraid I’m not looking to trade. I really need a sale. Will consider close offers though. Derrick
  9. Beautiful bass!!

  12. If I was looking for a hardware synth now, one of the Hydrasynth models would be top of my list.
  13. Expansions - Lonnie Liston Smith
  14. So here starts my first attempt of putting something together. I already have most if it, and just received my NW Honeyburst body yesterday. I think it mates well colour wise with the Fender 70's Pau Ferro neck. It'll be getting a cream pickguard and a broken in set of Fender flats, but I'm undecided on pickups yet. I'll need to do research to see what will mate well with my solderless orange cap controls. It'll be a project to complete when the darker nights approach. I'm so looking forward to drilling the holes for the pickguard etc !
  15. My band SHREDS. is playing the Slugfest In The Park festival in Wales on Friday. Our very own 'Thrashmaster -- Burnt to Shreds.' hot sauce will debut there, so if you're attending please drop by our merch stall to say 'hello' and grab a bottle!

  17. The Big Bang Theory - Barenaked Ladies
  18. I have the exact same bass also in Frost Red and had it converted to passive a few years ago when the pre amp failed. I much prefer it in a passive format, sounds more like a Fender. I went with vol per pickup and tone per pickup to use all 4 knobs.
  19. Might as well make Bass playing as comfortable as possible: Those Zoom pedal displays are small, something like the Boss GX 10 is much more readable. And as already mentioned - get a lightweight Bass (and amp/cab). 'what does it weigh' is a cliché question when someone puts an advert up selling a Bass without saying the weight, I think most people that do gigs/play standing up eventually find it quite an important consideration. Manufacturers seem to have realised this and there is quite a good choice of lightweights now. There's a slight 'back in the day we didn't question the weight of a bass'....yeah, but people also smoked in pubs, didn't wear seatbelts, had asbestos and lead around the house, and probably have bad backs now!
  20. Would something like these help you see the pedal board better? https://www.gear4music.com/orchestral/accessories/music-stands/lights
  21. Things Can Only Get Better - D:Ream
  22. I'm not sure exactly how long I get from a full charge as it's never gone from full to empty in one sitting, but it's a lot more than one hour, maybe five or six hours. When I practise it's usually for about an hour to an hour and a half and I get a good few sessions out of it before it needs charging. Kind of intrigued now as to how long it does actually last. Mine is the mp-2 rather than the pro but I can't see there being that big a difference.
  23. Apparently he was a user on this site https://www.basschat.co.uk/profile/1190-lorne/
  24. One of the few cabs I’d love to try/own .. just as well I’m no longer in a band
  25. So that bass belonged to a prominent BCR community member and serial number database owner named Lorne. Lorne had several nice BCRs including a Phil Lynott played Mockingbird. The woman you bought it from was a romantic interest of Lornes, rumor is she OD'd him on drugs and he passed around Jan of 2020. The community had no idea what happened to his instruments. That Ironbird is a 1985 USA and was one of his favs, it is easily worth 10x+ what she sold it to you for. I know he had issues with the truss rod but I believe it was fixed shortly before his death. If you're on Facebook Official BC Rich Unlimited will be the place you want to be Congrats
