  1. Past hour
  2. I once had a custom tremolo from COG that was called the Bad Mamma Stamma Jamma, which I felt was a killer name… but I named it, so I’m biased.
  3. Thanks Andy, much appreciated 👍
  4. I ordered a pair of pickups from G&L on 17 Sept, just before all this happened. No sign of them, no response to any emails…. I’m not even sure how I can go to my credit card provider as there’s nothing official out about the company going bust or anything (as far as I know), and them being in the US is not going to help. 😞 Anyone any thoughts?
  5. The 4004 is a great bass but I guess Rick trade on the iconic looks of the 4003. However, like everything ric, I am sure if they made more 4004s people would buy them, their business model seems to be (not unreasonably), make a set of small batches of a thing so there is always slightly less than people want of any product to keep the demand high. And it works well.
  6. Will measure tonight for you Chris x
  7. I recently had a trade deal with Daniel and everything worked out perfectly, I went to his place and we swapped basses, all the communication leading up to it was accurate and quick. A pleasure to do business with!
  8. Hey Andy, hope all's well mate, do you know if the pocket is standard Fender fit (albeit with staggered screw positioning)? I quite fancy trying that PUP combination with an FL?
  9. That's a luxury hotel (albeit one with high security) for a bass 👍
  10. Ironically, they did produce a bass which fixed everything everybody complained about on the 4001/4003. It was the 4004. People kept on buying the 4003. They discontinued the 4004.
  11. Peli iM3300 Storm case, 6 years old, been round the world a few times so scratches and marks cosmetically but still completely solid. I have just replaced the wheels and was going to replace a catch which closes but has a small piece snapped off and so doesn’t completely lock, but Peli are out of stock so it’s on back order. Foam is Cnc cut for MTD 535-24 but Peli sell replacement foam sets. Collection preferred or I can look into delivery cost on request.
  12. Today
  13. Ive had numerous tks cabs including a pair of 1216s. Im just looking at these for my studio.
  14. Transfer - Pet Shop Boys
  15. Manhattan - Eric Johnson
  16. I've found a TB thread which suggests they might not be compatible. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/regular-stingray-5-neck-pocket-size.378133/post-4891902
  17. @thevintagebassist Hey Roger, are you able to share any measurements for Mike? We would need the nut width and depth, width and depth at 12th fret and same at 22nd fret along with the heel length from the end to where the shoulder starts.
  18. Price drop to £1100 and edited the part-ex’s a little. Si
  19. I will let you know when they aee ready to ship. I plan on recording the individual weights and adding them to the product information anyway.
  20. Bass in excellent condition considering its 22 years, with some superficial screw marks. Fully original with stock D-tuner (Lindy Fralin PU). Alder body and rosewood fingerboard. Highly sought-after pre-2008 production. Straight neck and very low action possibke (like all US Laklands 100% hand made). Original flight case included (good condition). I have more pictures you can ask me. Shipment possible all over Europe and UK (not included in the price). Weight : 4.4kg Price shipment not include : 2500€ Only interested with 4 basses strings for partial trade (especially Nash, bravewood and RebelRelic)

  21. Agreed, everything gets paid for one way or the other. In the US, in most states, there is no sales tax on the labor. Only parts and materials are subject to it but only if the parts were purchased by the service business and sales tax wasn’t paid at that point. This is why comparing costs is so difficult, you pay more overall in taxes, but you have universal healthcare and we have an expensive mess run mostly by private insurance companies. Pick your poison…
  22. Considering that a short scale has two differences to a long scale - shorter distance between equivalent frets, for the more delicately handed, and shorter reach to the first fret, for the non-Warwick Thumb-inclined, these only tick one of the boxes. Also the lump of metal which counterbalances the ugly lump of wood stuck out needlessly far into space has been moved to a position where it counterbalances it less so it will be more neck-divey. One step forward (for the short scale lover) and two steps back.
  23. I have one of the Jamstik guitars I mentioned above, and there's a small hex key like a little starting handle (I'm sure most BCers are old enough to remember when cars had starting handles) which can be used to turn the little wheels. It's attached to the bridge magnetically and tucked in neatly so you don't have to worry about losing it or forgetting it.
  24. The most obvious answer is that the wires from the pickup that buzzes are reversed, so the ground side is connected to where the hot side should be. If the connection to the pickup is through solder pads on the bottom of the pickup, just unsolder them at the solder pads and reverse the wires.
  25. If Ric don't do anything anyone wants then they would be stuck with everything that they make...
  26. Ta. I'll give that a whirl in ten days when I'm back there (probably won't have completed the cab by then anyway).
