Paddy Morris started following Mic for live and quick recording?

Have you reached any conclusions yet? I have a DPA but am always slightly disappointed with the results I get. I also find it unusable as a gigging mic. Have you considered trying a Nadine? I never have, but the demos sound very good.

I take it you're not 70 years old, registered disabled, and unable to drive - like me 😔 In my condition I have to rely on others to help me out. These folk have their own lives and a 'day out' is a bit much to ask. It's why I rely on on-line shopping and websites like basschat for much appreciated information. Returns Policies in Blighty like everywhere else vary. And quite often the bass I have my mind is being sold privately and not by a shop. Playing the bass (and keyboards) is what gets me through my day.

Yep I figured it out the very next day as soon as I pulled the f***** back apart. One of the speaker wires got disconnected. I believe it was the ground wire that didn't I'm not sure. So yes I figured it out she don't sound bad I actually got bitched out by the property manager of where I live at because of it. I was also able to get my SWR La 15 back together. Even though I got to find the screws to screw the speaker back in place. Then figure out the three wires to hook the illuminated toggle switch up for the power. I hope and pray that she actually starts working again. Sorry about the late reply man.

They’re brilliant instruments with some serious pedigree, and mostly pretty inexpensive, unless you’re going for a high-end TRB or something. Plenty of used ones out there too, and they’re almost all excellent. You don’t hear about too many big-name players using them these days - they’ve got the same people they’ve had for years, like Nathan East, Patitucci, Sheehan, Hooky, etc but never really seem to add anyone new to their roster of endorsees. I guess they go for quality over quantity. You do seem to see quite a lot of them in the hands of session guys though. Those who know, know.

I want one of those. My singing teacher has one and I've picked it up briefly when there and it looks like a great piece of kit. I have an Artist Guitars NTL1 solidbody nylon which is close enough for me, at the moment, especially at 1/3 the cost of the Yamaha. Mine sits by my bed to practice, noodle and write on. I'm getting my recently replaced cell phone repaired to use as a recorder to write on as I won't take my mobile into that part of the house.

the finish on this 90s stingray has seen better days but for some reason it plays better than ever.

Maybe from your perspective they would, but it doesn't mean from Yamaha's POV they would. A small community online seldom translates to sales and the small number of older one's out there, doesn't add up to sales to me. If Yamaha did limited releases of say 500 units as a once off, they might sell, but it doesn't seem that's their market.

That's all octave skips. Focus on just playing the one pair of notes until you can keep it going smoothly at speed, then start moving the pattern up and down the neck (think South Bank Show theme). That's where I am. My approach would be: Learn the patterns, just staying on the lowest note of each pair. Then put skips and patterns together and try the song.

I bought this new in April last year, using it briefly before discovering GR Bass. As such, everything is in mint condition and I still have the original boxes too so shipping is an option. This is an incredibly versatile amp, so much so that I couldn't possibly run through everything it can do here. There are lots of video reviews worth watching, but I am going to guide you to our very own Dood's review here, which gives a good deep dive into the amp. Boss Katana 500 Bass Head (£734) Boss BT-DUAL Bluetooth adapter (£45), so you can adjust settings on the fly via the app Boss GA-FC pedal (£99)l, again, for ease of switching in a live setup Boss VE-22 Vocal Processor Bag (£74), a perfect fit for the amp, power lead and a couple of speaker cables I’ve added some pictures taken today but forgot to add proof of ownership. Hopefully folks will know I am a stand up guy on here and save me the effort of retaking the pictures.

Yes, that was my initial reaction, but as @Hellzero suggested, you could shim so the bridge end lifted increasing the neck angle, but then shave down the end of the neck the bridge mounts on so that the bridge if effectively lowered. The bridge mounts on the centre section/neck. The body itself is completely unneeded other than to mount the controls (and the outer pickup screws).

Advice Required re. Bass Neck Removal...
Jean-Luc Pickguard replied to Old Man Riva's topic in Bass Guitars
The video is utter b0llocks. I've removed & refitted necks many many times and this has never been a problem. Opening up the holes in the body might run the risk of the neck shifting in the pocket - especially on a 70s Fender with an overgenerous pocket. -
All very good points which I agree with. However, it would be nice if they reissued the BB3000 as they are constantly in demand and would fly off the shelf. Their bass range has always attracted serious players but it does feel like their focus and energy is elsewhere. To your point.

Wow, thanks for that, a great help if needed.

I think Yamaha have a range of designs they're happy with and simply changing them for a difference between this year and last, especially just finishes a la Fender, isn't worth it to them. They make so many different instruments they need to be rational about what will actually sell. For a trad looking bass like the BBs, white, black, blue, TS will sell consistently whereas sparkle pink, or even just a bright yellow will sell far less. I think the caramel TRBX605 is really pretty, but it's not 'traditional' and that alone would put off some buyer (just talking colour here). Yamaha's pianos and AGs are great (own / owned both), they are a known quantity and consistent and why change them?

No, this is a special construction where the neck extends to the bridge which is attached to the body. This isn't a neck through body, nor a bolt on neck as we usually understand it.
