A beautiful performance from the 2022 ECM album from trumpeter Avishai Cohen (a stalwart of the SF Jazz Collective), Naked Truth', the tune is one of 9 pieces that make up the Naked Truth long form composition. This is Part 3 of the suite which is mainly in 7:4. An interesting reading exercise. Not a massively quick tempo but the lines is constantly shifting so concentration is required. A lovely part, though, played on double bass by Israeli bass player, Barak Mori. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/naked-truth-part-3-avishai-cohen-trumpet/

Those clever product managers, eh? Making them in different colours for different tastes. Cunning.

Practically any light source will charge the dots. UV is the most efficient, but not necessary. If you really want, a UV torch from Amazon cannot be overly expensive, but not a must. I believe Luminlay contains Super-Luminova from Japan. It's a Strontium based inactive luminous material. Lifetime is decades. (Radio) Active materials (the most common is Tritium) are functional but their lifetime is limited. Half life of Tritium is 12.5 years.

Listening to solo DB albums, no backing, just one bass player
NickA replied to Rob MacKillop's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Don't think of the dB as a solo instrument really. Not even keen on bass solos in jazz tbh. I did once see Eberhardt Weber live; it was brill. But does very clever use of a looper, chorus and reverb on an eub count as solo double bass? Cello on the other hand, well ....Bach 6 suites, Britten, Kodaly... ..off to widen my horizons, and thanks for the tips👍 Ps: I got a bollocking at school for messing with the music depts new synth... Despite being a kid who'd been bought an instrument and given lessons to play it ( dad was a cellist). Its just that some school teachers were ( are?) in it to be fontrol freaky with smaller people. -

Picked this up on here a couple of years ago with an idea in mind, but never ended up using it. It’s been sat in drawer all that time. Condition is fair. It has a few scratches and the box is very tatty, but it’s fully functional. I paid £50 and am hoping to get my money back. Will include postage for that price.

Only one low gain OD!? Lightweights. Anything less than three stacked drive pedals and it’s not really bass

So I recently won a beautiful washburn taurus t24 with a slight blemish on the headstock as you can see. My plan is to put in a set of my favourite emg j set pickups with the tko switch as is tradition. My question is in the year of our (over)lord(of music( 2025 - what is the go-to budget bridge? I'm currently leaning towards this type as I had a pleasant experience with the guitar version a few years ago on a headless guitar I absolutely regret selling! https://www.amazon.co.uk/SMZhomeone-Travel-Bridge-Professional-Headless/dp/B0D92GXQX8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2HTWCP1ETGICZ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.f5jwXg9cdybqVolytNQZSZgftMvACVAOF7pz1CWE5Z2mrls-aaLp72HK9s6fKUGGzQvZDIeWiiE87PrAlR5db6GmE1fWrsK-KPJG6LEYPGeBNOE733OGIC1QB0wI7PAc-qyonJk0fy4O7EL6mzfOi2w_22GRKkF4hpmdUR5LikJKzyqm6ZEcKtQmQq4gZ-QnnbhWT5PCzCimUlgQNvmMqw.VQaeQPr524V86iACZYuv_aPYKxUYt7msCniYIbAqvQY&dib_tag=se&keywords=headless+bass+bridge&qid=1760036757&sprefix=headless+bass+bri%2Caps%2C105&sr=8-3 But I am interested to hear what else is out there
