Just got hold of a trb5 mk1, absolutely blown away by how good these buggers are! A tad under 34 inch scale and the b string is amazing . Very versatile. Enjoy yours x

The capo is so good I don’t know if I’d gig it. Just use in studio. Debating just using an amp di for anything live, or getting the bass rig pedal.

Get you about the trainers @LozzI96 For years I have worn Adidas Sambas but after being on my feet for 2 hours plus at Bonfest, I have invested in a pair of Nike Air as my feet were killing me. This getting old lark is not what it`s cracked up to be!

Hello good folks of bass chat, I’m new here and after some assistance. I recently picked up a Cort C5 as I wanted to experiment with 5 strings and get back into bass after a 20y gap, so far it’s been a roller coaster, went from 10w practice amp to 60w Ashdown to a Barefaced Super compact in 6 months… I’m finding to hard to get the tone I’m looking for. I thought the round wounds on the Cort were too twangy so replaced with TI jazz flats and that helped, but still struggling to get a nice ‘bass tone’. Tried changing the amp from a TC BQ500 to Markbass little mark 58R and that helps a bit but I think it must be the Barefaced Super compact cab which is the problem. I like very solid lows, reasonable mids and no highs, so vintage knob 100% on the amp. But it still sounds hollow and not like I’m expecting. Tried boosting the low mids but still not there. also picked up an Ibanez from the 90s and it sounds the same. Compared to through the PA where it sounds fine, I simply can’t get a tone I like from the Barefaced Super compact. So the question is, can it be fixed via pedal/preamp or is it just the cab tone which can’t be changed and I might as well sell it. I’m looking for something very small and light but can do low C and make the window rattle, the barefaced does that but I don’t like the sound! Arghh!! Unfortunately I live in a remote spot hundreds of miles away from music shops and trying caba out is not an option. I did find a 70w Hartke to try locally and the C5 tone is nice but has zero bass thump in comparison. That’s the difficulty, the Barefaced does have insane subwoofer levels of bass when cranked up for its size, just don’t like the sound! anyway, if any can recommend a light ish cab that goes lowww but has nice tone would be much appreciated. Budget probably up to £600-700

Ok , so it was actually Saturday night just gone but we had a fab local one for us at the hawth theatre in Crawley, 600 tickets sold, and such an appreciative audience. I recently purchased a Trb 5 mk1 Yamaha, one with the ‘slap cut’ recess. Second show I’ve done with it and I’m bloody well blown away by how good it is! The b string is sooo good, i never imagined I’d get on with the wide neck, but it’s nice and shallow and seems to fit me like a glove! Lightweight as well ( from what I’m used to anyway) the B string actually interacts with the other strings and is so useable.Ironic as it’s by far the cheapest 5 string I have. happy days! X

Need to raise a nut slot. Question about the file.

I had to build up the nut on a ebay neck. Tape up the headstock from sharp pointy things... think i used a round needle file, twisting rather than back and forth. -

A new pre is now on its way from EBMM via UPS (so fingers crossed…..). Mr Shuker has agreed to fit it so here’s hoping it’ll be fit and ready soon.

You just use left and right outputs as separate feeds - one for the PA (left), one for monitors (right). The Pan control on each channel acts to control how much of each signal goes to left and right - so a channel panned centre goes to both PA and Monitors, panned full left PA only, panned full right Monitors only...

1 Fender Neo Bassman 410 cab in used but cared for condition with a padded cover. Big warm sounding 410 but doesn't lack high end should you want it. I have recently acquired a 610 from the same line, which I am enjoying immensely, so it's time to let this go! Delivery might be possible but would far prefer to arrange some kind of meet up on this. I am trekking around the country a bit over the next few months so anything is possible. Replaced castors a few months ago.

It’s got options so you can import/export. Not sure they are made to ‘interface’ with Cubase specifically. I’ve imported midi files then replaced e.g. the bass. -
Can the bass flyrig v2 emulate the BDDI blend control?
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Effects
Yeah, but if the core tone is not what I can use, it's not worth the cost for me. I can make use of the Filter and Chorus, would never use the Sub-octave or fuzz, but would use the VTBass side occasionally I suppose. Without a way to back off the BDDI tone its not for me. -
