Just... "wow"! What a fantastic setup. Thank you for sharing that. There was a time when I wanted a bass pedal board, and to fit some reed switches and a midi output unit. However, I have neither the space, nor the talent, to take such a project forward.

I’m wanting to upgrade from my ole’ faithful B3… Mainly because as much as I love the B3, I’d like something with more tweakability and a few extra patches available for a handful of different gigs coming up. So, what MultiFx have you all been using in the real world that you would recommend? I think I’m deciding between: Zoom b6/b2-Four Boss Gt-1B Headspace GigBoard/MX5 I’m a bit of a Zoom Fanboy so have been leaning to the B6/B2-Four. But, also quite interested in the Boss GT-1B but don’t know anyone with 1st hand experience of using one in a live setting. and the Headspace Gigboard/MX5 look really good, but I’ve had a friend that had a couple of reliability issues with his mx5. There’s so many variants I appreciate so just interested to hear others real world opinions of them and what the Basschat world recommends. I know some people will have used 1 or more of them so interested to see how they compare… Is there something I’m missing that I should check out? And I know that a lot of people will recommend the HXStomp/GT1000 but in honesty, they scare the hell out of me and I’m not sure I’m looking for something I need to spend hours on the computer editing. And, equally they’re more money than I’d like to spend. My main requirement is Amp/Cab Sim, user friendliness as I’m not looking for something I need to spend hours and hours and hours tweaking, a visibly good tuner. And, importantly… reliability. Thanks in advance Alex

Bit of a slow day today but I don't want to not post something so here is the first Minuet from the Bach Cello Suite in G Major. Something to chew on whilst I work on Wagner's Ring Cycle. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/cell-suite-no-i-in-g-major-meneut-bach/

Working through the ABRSM piano grades
bass_dinger replied to bass_dinger's topic in Other Instruments
An update - I am working through Grade 2, and really struggling with this new level of playing. It feels so much more difficult than before. However, the reality is that I simply need to apply myself - to practice daily, and with more focus. • With the bass, I play what I know, in the same 4 or 5 keys, and probably haven't improved in 5 years. • With the piano, I am always playing beyond my skill level - two-handed parallel scales that I can't play with the right fingering; pieces with independent left and right hands; music full of accidentals; music with written timings (not by feel or ear). So, that is why I am struggling with piano. Incidentally, I have been practicing piano with a metronome, and when I mentioned it to my teacher, he said that I didn't want to be doing that "because it's difficult ". Surely a metronome is a beneficial discipline, and something that I should aspire to? -
Yeah literally plugged the usb into my phone and hit record on the native camera app, didn't even need to change any settings!

Love the colour on that Dark Knight!! I know Fender call it Dark Night but if Batman played bass that is what he would play.

How far have you travelled to pick up a Bass?

I might 'forget' the occasional comma in a sentence, at least I've not forgotten my wallet and jacket and had to do a second 200 mile journey! -

First question to ask as the pickups are single coils: Is the bass fully and correctly shielded?

Thank you, @BassTractor. Other Internet searches suggested the same issue, so I need to pluck up the courage to take the piano apart, and look at the pad beneath the A-flat. More likely, I will contact a repairer that I know, and ask him to look at it - I am not a bold or confident fixer of things.

Thanks matey. Tried it out, no luck unfortunately. I'll have another look in the cavity.

This reminds of a quite similar situation: I went to buy (only 250 kilometres round trip, but twice, read below for the funny part) an Ashdown CTM-300 with its dedicated made in U.K. 8x10 cab, and came back with an Ashdown CTM-100 with an Ashdown 1200 Watts made in U.K. 4x10 cab as I own a stupid Peugeot 508 with a trunk and not a hatchback, so I had to put the cab on the back seat as it couldn't get in the immense trunk and the head in the said trunk. That said, eventually, the 100 Watts head coupled to that 4x10 cab was more suited to my taste, so a win-win situation. Now, the funny part: I had to go back there the next day has I had forgotten my jacket with my wallet at the seller's place and only noticed it when back home, you know the "new toy syndrome". 🤦🏻🤪🫨 My wife who accompanied me both times was laughing like a child and I had to pay the restaurant on the second day. 😉 -

Been playing around with this...... ... it's heavy at 5.4kgs but it really really works as a classic do it all P/J. The neck is really very nice if you like that wide and flat profile, and there is a nice tightness to the sound - possibly as the result of the rather hefty body mass - that remind me of my old Sadowsky P/J. The whole things works well, and I've always loved the DiMarzios, but I'm sure John @KiOgon can take some of the credit by providing the lovely VT/VT loom. £600 for the bass as is, which is a decent price for a bass of this quality. The keen-eyed among you will have seen that I'll need to sort a broken bridge screw and find some pickguard screws, so will be a few days before I could send 👍
